Had a hankering. I used to get pan in Woodland, and I have yet to try the places off of Northgate. This panaderia is convenient to work, and I finally stopped in to give it a try. My main target was the puerquitos (marranitos), which I got two of ($0.99 each). The other pastry that caught my eye was an empanada that had cajeta (goat cheese caramel) filling, and I also got two of those! Not usually a fan of conchas, although next time I'll see if they have the bolillos with cream cheese/jalapeno inside! Did not try their hot food items like the tortas or tamales, and they do take card. read more

Pan dulce is sublime, and the fruit juices are made fresh. Definetly the best panaderia in West Sacramento.

Wife and I went for breakfast and got a yummy ham torta for $8. Lots of bakery options but we were intimidated so we stuck with the tried and true. They have elote tamales which I definitely want to try. We'll be back! read more

Tortas on point. Service is quick and delivered by nice women. The vegetales are fresh too. My coworker put me on and I had to satisfy the craving for myself this week. If you pay with card- be aware their system does not automatically have a line for a tip. Bring cash- I will next week when I need my torta fix. Also calling ahead makes it super easy. Spanish is the dominant language spoken so get your google translate on if need be. It's also very tiny and easy to miss so, drive slow :) read more

Great hole in the wall bakery. I've been going here for years to get the cream cheese and jalapeño bread which is crazy good. They now offer tortas m-f from 6am-10am. It's fresh with one of their workers putting it together then slapping in on the panini grill. I'm a lifer here and I'm ok with it. I've always driven past this panaderia and wondered if I should try the pan dulce and finally today I decided to give it a shot. I must say, I was impressed! They have good variety and the bread was quite delicious. The "birote" or "bolillo" (however you wanna call it) wasn't that great but still I'm giving it 5 stars because the pan dulce was just wow We got mostly conchas because the kids love it with the hot chocolate and they were soft and fluffy. This business just moved to a larger storefront in the same shopping center, and they're still sorta moving in. It looks a little sparse right now with the same number of bakery cases as the last location in twice the space. The selection has expanded slightly to include more varieties of pastries, and the prices seem to have stayed the same. They pretty much make the best polvorones rosas (rough translation: Big Pink Cookies) i've found in the greater Sacramento area. Perfectly dense and crumbly, cheery pink, and big enough to share. I also appreciate that the staff are patient and helpful with us gringos, and happily answer questions about mystery items. read more

The pastries here are so delicious! There are so many and are pretty cheap too. The lady working there was very kind and patient when I asked her what all the pastries were and what was inside them. I chose the custard pastries and the empanada with dulce de leche. Even after a couple of days of not eating them, the pastries were still really good and fresh tasting. read more

I fell in love with this bakery, simply fresh. However, I had the misfortune of being present when the inspector came in to review the bakery and witnessed the owners daughter being told they would be penalized for not having soap in the bathroom. I immediately felt uneasy about this. One never knows what goes on behind the scenes at restaurants/bakeries but hearing first hand, does cause quite an impression. No mistake, aside from the soap issue, the pastries are amazing and fresh. The "other" bakery on Franklin Blvd. is great too but when it comes to freshness, it's a gamble there. read more

This is my absolute GO TO when there is a gathering at my house and we need some great pan!!!! I drive from Carmichael all the way to West Sac because theirs is the softest and tastiest! I've had some from La Esperanza and I found them too dry and stiff. They have great selection and I love the puerquitos from here (and this is coming from someone that hates them).
