Of the years I've been running into him, he's always happy and positive, despite being hounded on all sides for his delicious cookies and truffles. It makes buying these carefully-crafted delicacies that much more pleasurable. Now, on to the good stuff! You will find some of the craziest cookie flavors you've ever heard of when you walk up to this booth; but don't let that deter you. When done right, the craziest combinations usually turn out to be the most amazing. The sweet Habanero cookie is among the most popular, and I can personally attest to the fact that if you love sweet & spicy foods, you may end up falling in love with this one. They have a great selection of other flavor combinations, as well, including Coffee Toffee- with strong chocolaty notes- Salted Caramel Apple Oatmeal with just a hint of salt to round it out perfectly, and a few others. If you can't decide, they're always handing out free samples, which usually narrows down the options. They also know how to make a mean truffle. They're rich, decadent, and hefty, (probably due to the cake batter-like texture), and look so pretty, it's almost impossible to shovel it all into your mouth without feeling a bit guilty. Didn't stop me, though. And they're all packed so neatly, they also make great gifts. Just make sure you don't leave them in a hot car or carry them around in direct Sunlight, as they will go south quickly. The prices are fair for what you get, and considering the amazing people you're buying from, this is one booth you can walk away from feeling perfectly satiated.

But if you're buying for yourself or for people whose opinion you'll actually hear again, this is a hard pass. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 10 minutes to Artelice. You'll get pastries that are just as beautiful and significantly more delicious. I left genuinely disappointed and won't be returning. It was still hot/warm when we took our first bite after walking back to our car -- flaky amazing lamination with a steaming frangipane filling, for sure the best almost croissant I've had. The regular croissant was also good but not fresh/warm like the almond croissant so it left less of an impression but I can imagine it also tasting amazing if we got it fresh. Burbank is not necessarily close to where I live but I'm so glad we happened to stop by to finally try this spot out! I'd love to try the sandwiches and tarts next time!

A manager or someone in a higher position was publicly scolding one of the Hispanic employees who has always been kind and professional. It was uncomfortable to watch. No employee deserves to be spoken to with disrespect, especially in front of customers, and especially with inappropriate language so early in the morning. I truly hope the owners remember that treating employees with dignity is just as important as serving great food. People notice these things, and kindness and respect matter.

I live about 50 minutes north of this establishment and I make it a point to drive down a few times a month for the delicious fresh out the oven sweet bread and Atól de Elote! My family would always by pan dulce from here. I went on Monday, July 21st and was greeted and served very nicely. The staff are always helping you select a good variety and I even asked for some recommendations of their favorites. I bought 5 pan dulces which came out to $8.75 ($1.75 per pan dulce) My favorite of the 5 were (1) the concha which is super soft and fluffy. They come in 4 different colors but the way you take that first bite, wow I inhaled the pan. (2) La Estrella (the star) which comes in either pink or white icing. Think of it like a sugar cookie but it's not overly sweet. The icing gives it a good layer of some added sweetness. (3) This is my childhood favorite which is called "the pastelito" or little cake that is on the top of the showcase when you look at the pan dulces. It's two layers with the bottom covered by a jam and then the top is a little bit of frosting with sprinkles on top. I usually have this with a glass of milk or any drink since it can be in the dry side but that's okay because I know I want to eat it with a drink. Overall an amazing place and I highly recommend anyone who is in the area to try it out.

But today, I stopped in for a quick breakfast before work and got their bread filled with eggs, beans, and plátanos. Wow! Completely satisfying, and it was only five bucks. The woman was somewhat pleasant and the man was not. He didn't even acknowledge that I was there and needed help. Place is small and a lot of customers lined up. Since there is this high demand and hype about their lahmajune (Armenian Pizza), wanted to give it a try and see if it's worth buying. After barely finishing my one lahmajune that I got, I didn't like it. It was too greasy, but the quality of the meat was decent. I got a Fruit Tart from the bakery and 2 Mikados. Both were fresh and delicious! Ambiance of the store needs a good rub and renovation. It's old and attention must be paid!! Got my goodies and left. Prices are reasonable depending what you get. Parking is shared with multiple businesses; and I will stick to the bakeries that I know, like, and am familiar with!!

When i told her the flavor I wanted she looked at me and said "it's in the back" like im suppose to know what that means. lol I thought she would go grab it but no again she just looked at me and I heard "what flavor" like with a little attitude. I drove all the way from San Diego to get my grandma's favorite empanadas that resides in Walnut, CA--but not no more! The entire market is completely disgusting and disorganized! The whole place looked dirty and everything was like on top of each other. It looked like a mechanics shop rather than a meat market/restaurant. The 2 glass meat display refrigerators were not working and parts of the metal case had come undone. The floor was dirty and who knows when it was last cleaned. I ordered 12 chicken empanadas. To my surprise, when I got home, the empanadas were green and black (see photo). Since, they smelled funny, I threw them out since I didn't want my 80 year old grandma getting food poisoning! The owner should be ashamed of herself and needs to close down this dump!
