I visit them every Easter to buy ingredients to make traditional Salvadoran Easter meals. Their freshly baked tortas de llema are very good. This year I bought the pescado seco with them and it came out very good.

I needed a reminder of my late abuelitas cooking and this dish did not disappoint. It was so juicy, fresh, and clean looking meat without fat. It was a hug to my soul. The bakery is very cute and authentic with beautiful marimba playing. Thank you! Thank you! I will definitely be back.

Some tables in the spot. One of my fave hot sauces, El Yucateco on the tables.

Great little authentic spot with small market and bakery. I had the special Pan con galina, house chicken sandwich on a fresh in house torta style roll. The sandwich has lettuce, cucumbers and radishes. Extremely sweet ladies run this place. I had coffe and a Bavarian crime stuffed cone pastry. Come support this nice business. Too much metal for one hand!

    Yummy taquitos!!

Omgoodness, I am obsessed with the tamales. The chicken tamales are amazing. Recently tried their caldo de pollo. It was delicious.

If I buy directly from their bakery, I think they might be a much better quality. It was nice to try them out. I would not go out of my way to purchase more. They are pricey, like most of these cake type of desserts usually are. If I happen to be in their area, I would give them another chance!

When you frequent local events, both large and small, where small, independent vendors congregate,…read moreyou kind of get used to this positive energy that permeates everything, from the hardworking craftsmen, bakers, cooks, and sellers plying their trades, to their carefully-made products, each with its own individual charm. I'm talking about events like the 626 Night Market during the Summer in Arcadia, the OC Night Market in Costa Mesa, Chinatown Summer Nights in, well... Chinatown, and many others. Even then, you sometimes come across a particularly cool vendor that just exudes passion for what they do. David is one of those people. Of the years I've been running into him, he's always happy and positive, despite being hounded on all sides for his delicious cookies and truffles. It makes buying these carefully-crafted delicacies that much more pleasurable. Now, on to the good stuff! You will find some of the craziest cookie flavors you've ever heard of when you walk up to this booth; but don't let that deter you. When done right, the craziest combinations usually turn out to be the most amazing. The sweet Habanero cookie is among the most popular, and I can personally attest to the fact that if you love sweet & spicy foods, you may end up falling in love with this one. They have a great selection of other flavor combinations, as well, including Coffee Toffee- with strong chocolaty notes- Salted Caramel Apple Oatmeal with just a hint of salt to round it out perfectly, and a few others. If you can't decide, they're always handing out free samples, which usually narrows down the options. They also know how to make a mean truffle. They're rich, decadent, and hefty, (probably due to the cake batter-like texture), and look so pretty, it's almost impossible to shovel it all into your mouth without feeling a bit guilty. Didn't stop me, though. And they're all packed so neatly, they also make great gifts. Just make sure you don't leave them in a hot car or carry them around in direct Sunlight, as they will go south quickly. The prices are fair for what you get, and considering the amazing people you're buying from, this is one booth you can walk away from feeling perfectly satiated.

The peach mousse is definitely one of my favorites, and you can't go wrong with the tiramisu or the raspberry cheesecake. The macarons are also fantastic, flavorful, and perfectly made. Not only is everything amazing, but the mousse and many of the other desserts are crafted like works of art. You can tell a lot of care, skill, and attention to detail go into every creation. The staff was also very friendly and provided great service. Unfortunately, the pastries themselves were a major disappointment. Being generous, I'd rate the taste a 1/5 and the value a 0/5. About 90% of what I had was just cream filling with very little flavor. They looked incredible but tasted bland and one-dimensional. For the prices they charge, I expected much more. What makes it even harder to justify is that they're priced similarly to Artelice, which not only delivers on presentation but also on taste. In my opinion, Artelice is in a completely different league. If you're nearby and need a one time gift for someone you'll probably never buy pastries for again, sure, these might impress visually. But if you're buying for yourself or for people whose opinion you'll actually hear again, this is a hard pass. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 10 minutes to Artelice. You'll get pastries that are just as beautiful and significantly more delicious. I left genuinely disappointed and won't be returning. One star is for the aesthetics, and the other two stars are for the friendly service. The pastries themselves simply didn't live up to their appearance.

Do you have any sense?! Anyway, turns out that person was upset that their order got canceled on DoorDash. If that person ever saw the line at Lou's, she'd understand why. Better yet, if she ever tried Lou's, she'd never have the gall to post nonsense like that. If you haven't had it, don't review it. Simple as that. As for ALL of the items at Lou's "Oh, aimé-je" it does NOT get any better. The croissants are hands down the best in America. The sandwiches (all of them): finger-licking good. The éclairs are the most delectable in town, as are the other pastries. And with ALL of that, somehow the best thing is still the customer service. I have yet to walk in there without seeing Lou personally chatting it up with customers, the man is everywhere. On sunny and rainy days he's passing out umbrellas, and on Mother's Day he's handing out wonderful gifts for all the ladies. The staff take their lead from him and are every bit as splendid. If you haven't tried it yet, it's not too late -- run, don't walk, this weekend. Your taste buds will file a formal complaint if you don't.

10/10 would come again…read more Found 2hr street parking after circling the block 3 times (if not there's a paid lot nearby for a little over $1 for the first 20 minutes). Got here early Sunday afternoon because the line was not absurdly long -- about 6 ish parties in front of us and waited around 15-20 minutes. The interior was really small and there's really only room for to place your order -- if you ordered a drink or sandwich you'd have to step outside to wait. There are a couple of small round tables covered with umbrellas for small parties if you want to do a small meet up or wait for your goods. We had wanted some croissants and apple tarts but unfortunately they had run out of the Apple tarts by the time we ordered (another excuse to return next time). We were convinced by the nice lady at the register to pick up not one but two almond croissants because they were fresh out of the oven and I'm SO GLAD we did. It was still hot/warm when we took our first bite after walking back to our car -- flaky amazing lamination with a steaming frangipane filling, for sure the best almost croissant I've had. The regular croissant was also good but not fresh/warm like the almond croissant so it left less of an impression but I can imagine it also tasting amazing if we got it fresh. Burbank is not necessarily close to where I live but I'm so glad we happened to stop by to finally try this spot out! I'd love to try the sandwiches and tarts next time!
