5 tacos, not for the light eater and good to the last bite
    Jose D.

Hidden Gem doesn't begin to describe this place! Handmade tortillas, excellent authentic homemade food, i hear the bakery is great too so I'll update that soon, I've seen other patrons enjoying all kinds of food but my go-to is the tacos. Service is good, carnitas are made fresh, Michoacán style, if you decide to visit, you order at the counter for the deli/kitchen and then pay the cashier for the store. Cards are accepted but it's a dollar fee and tbh for the price and quality of the food it's not even noticeable. Parking is a little tight - I would walk a thousand miles for these tacos

Best tacos de carnita and mexican groceries. Please visit and support this small business. They have fresh baked bread, menudo and carnitas.

Of course we could never go home without a pound of the Chicharrón en salsa verde with a dozen of the handmade tortillas.

They have "THE" French butter, and yes I went home with $100 worth of butter. No regrets. The workers were quite welcoming, and the prices are NOT overly marked up at all. I was expecting prices to be more expensive than usual, but I was very surprised and delighted to see that it wasn't. Whenever I head to this side of Cali, I'll be sure to stop by here for my treats.

The produce and fruit prices here is unbeatable. They always have variety of things on sale specially their top sellers. Let's say cucumbers cost over $2.50 a pound in other markets and here it's almost always 99c a pound. Today I was surprised to see a 10 lbs bag of potatoes for $1.29 now that's crazy. Even though I don't buy non organic potatoes it's a great price for people that do. Apples 79c peaches 1.29 a pound which I stocked up on to freeze once they are ripe. I got bags of cherries for $1.29 a pound. Sweet and juicy cherries. I especially love the bulk section of dried fruits and nuts here. I always buy the dried fruits that are imported from Armenia such as sour plum, peach, apricots, pears and more. Love it They carry a wide selection of imported rice, legumes, pastas, olives etc.... Two isles of bread from pita to lavash to tortillas to ciabatta and more. The deli is amazing but I'm not crazy about the meat department. Customer service is average for a supermarket and finding parking here is always challenging. Overall a great place to shop for food specially for large families that want to save a bit of money.

I was faced with this Rude employee named Martin who tells me flat out that the employees of the store or at least Martin is not about Customer Service or the customers needs. Earlier I had walked by the tangerine booth. I saw that the bin was empty. I went over to Martin and ask him where are the tangerines located he pointed where they were. I looked over and I said the bin was empty and if they can fill it. Non-responsibly he struck his shoulders so I walked over to produce Manager and asked can they bring out fresh tangerines since the bin was empty. He said fine in 10 minutes. I continued with my shopping and 20 minutes later I came in and the bin was still empty so I went over to Martin and as I couldn't find the produce manager, I asked can they fill the bin he says when I get around to it so I walked over, found the produce manager, and I asked for the tangerines to be filled. The produces Manager went and ask Martin to do that. exactly 2 minutes later he walks up to the tangerine bin and tells me why did you go and asked the mgr for Tangerines? I told you I will get to it when I get to it. I told him that I had a doctors appointment that I've been waiting for 20 minutes and I'd like to finish my shopping to which he responded well we don't work around the customers schedule we work whenever we want to. This has left such a bad taste in my mouth and so contrary to my experience in Northridge. I hope the store manger pays attention to Martin and his lack of customer service attitude.

It's a Friday…read moreafternoon and we weren't sure if Wat Thai temple had their food court open, so before running an errand at the Costco Business Center, we decided to stop by. Vendors were in their stalls preparing for the Saturday-Sunday event, but they weren't selling today. So bummed! We looked across the street and saw the sign for Pratunum. Unassuming, so I checked Yelp and asked hubby if we could stop by and see what they had since I've never been to a Thai market and wanted a seasoning packet to make Pad Krapow at home. So glad we stopped in! We received the friendliest greeting from (did he say his name was Tom?) and he couldn't have been more helpful! He didn't have the exact thing I wanted but told me where in East Hollywood I could find it.. and walked me to an aisle to show me alternatives. We had a lovely visit, talked about restaurants, he was telling me how hard it is to find Holy Basil for sale in the SFV but said it's easy to grow and gave me a snipping! I'm pretty excited to start a plant. The store is immaculate. The shelves are neat, and it's well lit. Their prices are so fair, too! I will most definitely return to visit again!

They probably only carry a handful of things or perhaps they were sold out of a lot of things for the holidays, not sure! There was maybe 1 worker up front and a few shoppers who seemed like regulars since they were chatting in Thai with the worker. This spot is located across the Thai Temple and has a very small parking lot. The lot also has a one way in, one way out and some of the spots are marked for certain businesses, especially the market! We picked up a few instant noodles that we still have yet to try but also grabbed some bottled refrigerated drinks. Basically everything here is Thai which was really cool since we rarely see and products from there! Can't wait to try the noodles, the coconut drink we tried was very good but also very much on the sweeter side, but worth trying! IG: @ammysalamii

Ambience: one table to sit and enjoy your purchase if you got a yummy cold pressed juice, smoothie, or a cold or hot snack or meal. Small boutique grocery store meets food mart. Forgot about this spot as I moved long ago, but will be sure to stop in when I'm in the area! I picked up a few items tonight, and one item missed the mark. * The Bad -- Hard Rice: The pickled pear baked salmon onigiri had a tough, dry texture. * Food : The package label showed the rice ball was already three days old. * High Price: It cost nearly $7 for stale food that I could not finish. Their prices are high. Head to the Valley's Japanese grocery store like Mitsuwa in Northridge for sushi or a Korean grocery store like Greenland Market in Van Nuys for prepared food made the same day at lower prices. The Good: * The spam musubi was made the same day and tasted fresh. * The butter mochi was delicious. Final Thoughts: I expected fresh food made that morning. Selling three-day-old rice balls at this price is unacceptable. I will not return because they sell items past their prime. I would not buy their sushi based on my experience as it might be old as well.
