They have marinated chicken thighs that are also delicious and multiple kinds of lule (I've tried the veal one) honestly this is one of the cleanest and freshest establishments I've been to in LA and I love how helpful the staff is. FOOD We found a lovely variety of fresh meats just ready to be cooked looking all kinds of delicious and my friend found the rabbit she was looking for at $11.99/lb. We got that and an assortment of herbs and spices to go with it. Everything looked so good we will definitely be going back. SERVICE Everyone was very helpful and gave great customer service. They even made some recommendations for other items we were curious about. Even the patrons were friendly and as we waited to be helped we shared recipes and talked about what we'd be getting and what we'd be making for dinner with what we got here. AMBIANCE It was a chill environment. The employees were kind and helpful. The place was a HUGE store with a grand variety of everything you could need. I saw some artisan honeys and international candy and pastry options. HONORABLE MENTION The entrance is along the backside which is the opposite side of the Main Street. There are ample parking spaces. Go to this place ready to shop for your life, IT HAS EVERYTHING!!!

Driving to the store is easy as well as finding a parking space. Plenty of blue placard spaces and I like that. Inside, it's one of those step-down markets, but it is clean, well -stocked, and organized. The produce section is neatly arranged, and everything looked fresh and good quality. Since it is an international grocery, you'll find products from all over, which is wonderful - catering to all the customers. Prices are a little bit on the lower side compared to other markets, so you get value for what you're buying. There's also a public restroom tucked in the back with a clear sign, which is always helpful. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth checking out.

For food, I would say this store is very cheap compared to other grocery stores. Produce is way cheaper than other stores in the area. Deli department can be a headache since some people cut the line and don't wait for their turn , even though, getting a number and waiting in line is required. If you are interested in buying international and domestic beer, wines, and liquor, this store has a huge selection of alcoholic beverages. For ambiance, I would say this store has improved. It is way cleaner than it used to be. Employees are constantly cleaning and mopping the store which is a plus. Be careful of the carts when walking around in this store. Parking is easy. This store has a big parking lot in the front and on the side.

I drove all the way from San Diego to get my grandma's favorite empanadas that resides in Walnut, CA--but not no more! The entire market is completely disgusting and disorganized! The whole place looked dirty and everything was like on top of each other. It looked like a mechanics shop rather than a meat market/restaurant. The 2 glass meat display refrigerators were not working and parts of the metal case had come undone. The floor was dirty and who knows when it was last cleaned. I ordered 12 chicken empanadas. To my surprise, when I got home, the empanadas were green and black (see photo). Since, they smelled funny, I threw them out since I didn't want my 80 year old grandma getting food poisoning! The owner should be ashamed of herself and needs to close down this dump!

I first found out about Handy Market on social media for their weekend BBQ about a month ago. As I had been craving bbq for a couple weeks now, I found today to be the best opportunity to give them a try. I placed an order for pick up the night before. I got kind of carried away with the order, as I wanted to try almost everything on the menu. The prices were absolutely insane! I think I ended up paying about 65 dollars for food that would easily feed me for a good 3 or 4 days. When I arrived to pick up my order at my pick up time, I had noticed my order was being packed. I asked the employees if I can leave my order with them for a bit so that I can pick up some meat inside the market. They obliged, and I went to the meat counter to order my beef back ribs to cook for tomorrow. For 5 pounds, I ended up paying about $34, which was definitely a bargain. They were also selling breakfast burritos and sandwiches in the store, which I found to be awesome. I took everything home and opened my bag of spoils. After I took everything out, I statted thinking of what I wanted to eat first and what I wanted to save for later. It was so much food that I thought I could feed an entire army. Definitely will be back for the breakfast burritos and sandwiches, and for the meats again, for sure!

As a loyal customer of this establishment for over two decades, I have consistently visited the…read moredeli and meats department at least once a month. However, I am compelled to rate this establishment one star due to a particularly unpleasant experience with a female deli employee whose first name begins with the letter "J." Despite my frequent visits, the overall customer service in the deli and meats department has declined. The season butchers have been replaced with individuals lacking the necessary experience and customer courtesy that were previously present. Over the past three months, I have encountered the same issues with this particular employee. It is important to note that the fee charged for slicing a Tri Tip into a carton container is not the primary concern. The issue lies in the employee's behavior and attitude, specifically their unwillingness to properly wrap the sliced meat. This has occurred on multiple occasions, most recently at the checkout counter when the cashier pull the foil-wrapped package from the plastic bag causing the juices of the meat to spill all over the counter. This has happened to me every time this employee has served me. The Tri Tip sliced meat is dry and devoid of juices due to this careless employee's failure to wrap the meat carefully. It is imperative that this situation be addressed. Management should provide this employee, "J," with proper training on how to wrap sliced food correctly. Additionally, it is crucial the ambiance that all employees, including the deli and butcher employees, maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor. A salutation is always appreciated. Despite these concerns, the BBQ remains outstanding as always.
