I love the pad Thai noodles, it's best I've found in/around town! We have been here many times. It's small place, I've had quick lunch with my mother. They offer lunch menu, very reasonably priced, comes with soup and rice, think egg-roll. Other than that we don't eat there, but we often order Pad Thai noodles for to-go! It's the only place with decent Pad Thai Noodles. So we may not eat in, but to-go is fine and about 15 min (one way) from home. Although there are many 4 and 5 stars for this restaurant, I thoroughly disagree with them. Overall, this place produced some of the more white washed, bland, and overall disappointing Thai food in the area. My girlfriend and I ordered Pad Thai (Spice 3), Lemongrass Pork Slices (Spice 4), and Steamed Pork Dumplings. All of which had issues. The bigger issue at play here is this cost us almost $50 which is an egregious amount of money for the quality. Let's start with the Steamed Pork Dumplings. They tasted frozen, and overall had a weird texture. Overall, these weren't the worst in the order but they definitely left alot to be desired. The filling was alright but overall they were very dough-ey and lacked texture. 4/10 The Lemongrass Pork was three slices of pork. We could only taste sugar in the marinade, with almost nothing else. They were also cooked VERY well leaving most bites tough. The description of the item said it would be served with braised onions, none were found. Lastly, I paid an extra $2 to add steamed vegetables which were all bland and felt like they were from a freezer bag. 2/10 The worst of it all was the Pad Thai. To even think the chef tasted this and let it get out of the kitchen is insane. It had no flavor. Let me repeat, it tasted like nothing. The best I could compare to is wet shoes. The noodles were just oily and bland. Further, the "lime" that was served was brown. It was an absolute disgrace to Pad Thai, and in general, Thai noodle dishes. Overall, this was EAISILY the worst Thai food I've ever had in the Lafayette / Louiseville area. I recommend going to Busaba in Louiseville for real food and flavor. read more

If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine in Lafayette, Panang is it!! We got the Bangkok duck and beef with green curry sauce. They were delicious! We will be trying more dishes on their menu. Take out was fast and easy. Our dishes were ready in 20 min. Portion is generous. Price is reasonable. If you get the white rice it comes with the dishes, a little more for the brown rice. Like many places in Colorado, this place needs to stick to its guns and tell customers that if they want their Thai food dumbed down they should go somewhere else. They're tailoring their menu to the lowest common denominator of customers instead of making the food the way they know it should be made. The Pad Thai was awful. But apparently they're making what locals want. They stopped putting scallions in the Pad Thai because people kept complaining about the taste of raw scallion. The Pad Thai didn't have tamarind flavor or egg. The Panang Curry was watery and flavorless. They stopped putting shrimp with tails on in their Tom Yum soup because people complained about the tails. I think they could make great Thai food, but they'd need to cut a ton of items from their menu, make it how they want, educate customers, and if customers want their pad thai to taste like sriracha and ketchup they should go to noodle house or something. read more

This place is great! Love the flavors and friendliness of the staff. Definitely a top place to eat in Lafayette and my go to Thai place. They really excel at the options, with a ton of authentic dishes and real flavor. I love the Summer Rolls, Pad Thai with tofu, and most of all, the Honeydew Boba tea. You can't go wrong with those! Long overdue review - our visit was pre-pandemic, and I'm just now getting around to finishing this. Oops... Nonetheless, this place has been on my list of bookmarked restaurants for friggin' ever. It just so happens that we were feeling hungry right at the time we drove by. How about that. Lafayette is a pretty quaint little place, and has a really cool, historic downtown. Panang Thai is in a small-ish little strip mall near the heart of downtown, and is pretty unassuming at first glance. You may end up driving right by at first if you're not keeping an eye our for it. The parking situation hasn't been an issue for us so far, but it's kind of tight, so be wary of the time you decide to drop in. I can only assume that with all the other businesses around, it may become somewhat tricky to find a spot once things start getting busy. Like many other restaurants of this size, the dining area is pretty open and full of two- to four-top tables. The cashier is smack dab in the middle of the back, and the kitchen is hidden behind a wall. The walls are plastered with blown up images of some of their more popular dishes, and a decent size fish tank adorns the sitting area for patrons' viewing pleasure lol. Each time I've been in, there are typically between one and three other lone diners or couples speckling the restaurant, so we have always been immediately greeted and led to a table and left with waters and menus. It never takes us too long to decide on what to order - and let me just say that I'd like to visit more so that I can try a bunch of different things on the menu - and our food is always brought out quickly. The lunch size portions are a good size, and perfect for those that may be a bit on the hungry side. I don't normally have it in me to finish my entire meal, but it seems to always be the perfect amount for my BF. Service is fast, the price point is absolutely reasonable for what you get, the atmosphere is light and pretty open, and staff have always been friendly. This is a great place to grab a quick bite for lunch, and I can honestly say that I have never had anything less than an awesome experience. Next on the list is to stop by for dinner! Solid dinner. Stopped in on a Saturday night. Seated right away. Good service, good food, clean and bright. The servers were a little over-attentive, polite and knowledgeable. We got the crab rangoon and it was really good! We got the drunken noodles and massaman curry - both were fine. Not very spicy. The server never asked how spicy we wanted the food so we probably should have been proactive. Biggest challenge was finding parking - the megachurch was just getting out when we arrived. We were two of six people in the restaurant at the time, and the waitress was very attentive with coming to check on us and making menu recommendations. My bf had the panang curry and didn't love it -- the veggies in it were sliced into huge portions, it was thinner than he'd like, and his 3/5 spice rated more like a 1 or 2 to him. This is the kind of restaurant I love for a simple lunch or dinner, moderately priced and tasty food. The atmosphere is not fancy, but inviting and pleasant, with a few personal touches that make it interesting enough. Last time I went for lunch with my daughter, our waitress was very friendly and everything was fresh and yummy. For starters, we shared a generous order (8 pieces) of crispy vegetables dumplings. Then, I had a good papaya salad and also ordered the chicken satay, moist and very appetizing with its deep golden color. My daughter had the Pad Thai and really liked it. I was looking for a new Thai place as our regular place was closed for the Month for vacation. I order our typical take out order. Our food was correct, hot even w a 15 min drive home, priced reasonable for Thai take out. When I arrived the restaurant at 630 was full, staff seem slightly stressed but still friendly. The restaurant looked clean from walking in and a pick up food at their counter. There was a waiting for pick up but all patrons looking to sit were seated immediately at 730pm on Thursday evening. Our food was a their vegan tofu spring roll w sauce, it was okay I felt the tofu could have been smaller pieces in roll and they were soft not to firm I wasn't a fan of basil in roll it was over powering. The crab wontons were delicious and a lot of pieces w yummy dipping sauce. The chicken pad Thai I absolutely loved bc we could pick our spice level here our original place you are not able too. There is big chunks of chicken and lots of peanuts, dressing bamboo shoots and shredded carrots n green onion. It was so so good. I can't wait to order again. I would just try a different appetizer their spring roll is their style and not for me doesn't mean it not for someone else. Ordered the Combination Pad Thai for takeout from this place a week ago and I was a quite happy about the price and quality of the food I received. Both were common thai dishes and I expect it to be at least decent but both times were underwhelming and taste was off. The fare was good but not overly impressive. The fish hit the spot but didn't have that fresh, moist, and flakey quality I like. Most likely because it was frozen before deep fried. The shrimp satay skewers were delish but came with 4 skewers with two small shrimp each. Hardly worth the $8 price tag. Drunken noodles weren't as saucy as I'm use to from Thai joints in California nor did it have anything special in the mix. Only noodles, protein of choice, basil, and bean sprouts (and not much of each either). Last but not least was the mango with sticky rice as a grand finale. The mango wasn't overly sweet but that's fine. The coconut rice was nice and hot. The only thing that was a bit overly used here were the sesame seeds as garnish. I like them but not in the amount they put on there. Nonetheless, the $1 booze and food selection made this an easy 4 star review from me. The Panang Curry is consistently good (I'd hope so, considering the name of the place). But the noodles are super underwhelming every time. Pad Sewee is one of my fav Thai dishes, but I won't get it from here, nor Pad Thai. Also, they don't always get the order right (ask for no spice and it comes spicy, ask for brown rice, and pay extra, but get white rice). I've been in search for some good red curry. I'm pleased to say Panang can offer you that. The restaurant is tucked away in and strip shopping mall. The inside is what you would expect for a run of the mill Asian restaurant. It's quite small and the wait staff is friendly. Sunday was slow and only a couple other tables were occupied. I started with the wonton soup which was quite good. I'll definitely be ordering it on a regular basis. Panang offers a Spicy level of 1 to 5 which is the best. I went with red curry chicken and added a few other veges and removed the bamboo at a spice level of 4. This dish came just as I had ordered it. The sauce has very good flavor depth and the spice level was perfect. Hot that it will make you water just enough but not so hot that you can't taste the flavor depth of the sauce. The chicken was perfectly tender and juicy. Most of the dishes come with a side of rice which they shape in a heart. Cute but personally I'd just take some more rice. The portions are sizable and unless you are really hungry finishing off a full red curry is a challenge. read more

My green tofu curry was huge and delicious (the eggplant was a little under done). The fried fish filet with sweet and spicy sauce was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend had the crispy duck and everyone raved about it. I'm allergic to bell peppers and ordered my meal without it. The waitress conscientiously came back to make sure it was ok in the other dishes. They brought out the fried rice early for our two year old. I was just visiting Boulder and chose this place because it was the closest Thai food restaurant that I could find nearby. The massaman curry is a must-have. The drunken noodles were just ok. I might not be a very good gauge since I don't eat spicy food, but I felt it was lacking a lot of flavor. The servings were very big especially the curry, so that was a huge plus.
