Went here because of the reviews. The food was ok at best, no idea why they have so many stars. Breakfast from 8 to 11 is the only meal you should get here, otherwise be prepared to spend 9 to 12 on a meal where every extra is extra....75 cents for a slice of tomato on a burger. Very dirty inside, dust throughout vents, sticky tables. The only saving grace was the service. Very nice ladirs, who work hard. Maybe a stop for a mon to fri breakfast, otherwise pass it by. read more

I was ordering takeout food today. The male cashier was frustrated that I asked for, "no butter on my biscuit". He left the cash register and said some remarks in his language. I requested to get a full refund. He got upset and said don't come back here no more. As I was walking out on my phone talking to my friend, I called them a little bitch in our conversation. I guess he thought I was talking to him. I wasn't! He called me a nigger too. As a African American, I don't even use the N word. Since he called me that disrespectful name, I can only imagine how he treats his minorities workers. This place is a pure disgrace. read more

So far, we've been sitting for about 5 mins and still haven't been tended to. There's a weird aroma in the air, not really too pleasant. Their sign says they have been in business for 37 years and it definitely smells like it. The menu is really confusing on how to read it and they don't offer too many options for omelets for non-pork eaters. For parking in the main lot it's pretty congested there's s sign for additional parking in the McDonalds parking lot, which is good for busy days. I kind of feel sorry for my kid since she really was looking forward to an activity sheet. Word of advice, if you come here with younger children be sure to bring some sort of coloring book and crayons to keep them occupied during the wait. My daughter became very antsy during our wait. I do like the brick inside and the bay windows I think that's a little character added but it's very dark and dingy here. Their salad bar doesn't look too appealing either, some of their items are in Tupperware that's sitting on top of the bar. The food for the most part was alright. I had ordered the farmers omelet it was very salty. The grits were good and the pancakes were nice and then. My boyfriend ordered scrambled eggs, house potatoes, turkey bacon and pancakes which he said the eggs were very runny still. I wasn't too impressed and apparently you have to have cash because they DO NOT take cards but if you spend over $20.00 they do give you back your atm fee. Owner warmly greeted us upon entry. Dee was our waitress and she was very sweet, accommodating, professional...she made me feel very comfortable for my very first visit. My food was great...eggs scrambled just how I like them. The hashbrowns were mildly seasoned which complimented the plate perfectly. My fellow diner had a tasty looking selection. The links were good but seeing their country ham on the other person's plate definitely makes me want to try it ok my next visit. The atmosphere was very old school and relaxed...the parking lot seems a tad small so I could just about imagine what a busy Saturday would be like....however it would be worth the parking war. I will definitely be returning and I would like to try lunch one day. read more

I want to like this place so badly but like in baseball, three strikes and you're out! The food is just okay at best. I had pancakes, sausage and grits. A VERY small side of grits we're almost $4.00 which I thought was ridiculous but after adding A LOT OF salt and pepper it tasted better. I could make the exact same pancakes and sausage at home. Yet again, I just wasn't very impressed. Admittedly, I've only eaten breakfast here but they serve a lot of other southern dinner foods. ie: Catfish, collard greens, etc. so I can't comment on those foods. This place has had some renovations in the last 5 years but they could seriously use an interior designer or Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible. It's stuck in the 70's! Plus they only accept cash, which is weird for 2015. They have an ATM and will refund your $2.00 fee if you spend $20 or more. They're always packed on the weekend so they're doing something but it's not a place I want to return to. read more

Literally one of the best breakfast places in the 757. Yes, they are old fashion when looking at other reviews. However, every time that I've been here the food has been fresh. My favorite thing to get is the fish and eggs. This is not a fancy restaurant at all, however the food is better than those "fancy" restaurants, and they have a variety of options. The only downside is that you have to pay cash, however the food makes up for that and they also give you back the surcharge that your card is charged for using the atm. read more

The food was good and staff very nice, however I'm feeling sour because it's 2.65 for a fountain soda (or bottle soda - my husband ordered Mt Dew and it only comes in a bottle). We did not realize until it was time for a refill that he does not get a refill at all for the bottle. Had he known this upon ordering, he would have changed his choice. And I thought for the fountain drink I got 3 refills, but I misread the menu and it is only one refill. My cup was smaller than the others. I think it is ridiculous to have to ration my drink with a meal when it costs $2.65. To me, it comes across as the owner being a cheap wad, and I don't believe that is the intention. read more

First, we waited about 5 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us. One finally came and we gave her our drink orders and food order. Now 25 minutes have gone by and we have NO drinks. I understand it's a holiday, but this is terrible. We had 3 waitresses walk by us when we're first sat, and no one spoke. It looked like our waitress is from a different section. It's never been this bad. We like to support local restaurants, but I don't think we'll come here again. read more

This is hands down my absolute favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant. They have the most amazing pancakes and french toast. Everything is priced well and all the food is cooked fresh. The waitresses are all so sweet and always make us feel welcome. They only take cash but the management here is so kind that they will deduct the atm fee from your bill. read more

Breakfast was delicious! I'll definitely be back. Service was fast--no wait to be seated. The food was prepared really fast, too.The decor is really dated. Reminds me of the 70's or 80's. The hash brows are very tasty. From what I remember, the meals are pretty reasonably priced but the prices for beverages are steep. We did have a little snafu with the waffle that my husband ordered. I can't believe we haven't reviewed Pancakes N Things previously. Our family typically goes here at least once a month. This is a nice locally owned and operated family restaurant. Good prices. This is considered a breakfast place but really it's more of a diner that serves lunch and dinner also. The restaurant is affordable and capable of serving a large group. We like many things on the menu from Fish & Grits to, French toast, pancakes and things. The owner and his family are genuinely nice people. I enjoy chatting with them as well. read more

Great place but their steadfast refusal to enter the age of paying with plastic, keeps me and my friends from going there. I never carry much cash, just my bank Visa card. The eggs were horrible, taste like someone chewed them up n spat them back out. The sausages were half cooked. The pancakes were cold and the French toast was so bland. The homefries were not seasoned at all. My kids age 4 and 7 couldn't eat their food because everything tasted bad! I was upset because driving by this place several times and seeing the parking lot full of cars made me think they had great food. WRONG! I drive past this place at least 6-8 times a day and work less than a 1/2 mile from the place and had never been inside until yesterday. Although my initial thought, due to the name is breakfast foods, I visited during lunch. They had such a great variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, and platters on the lunch menu, then they have a great list of specials too. I tried the vegetable soup and a fried flounder sandwich, and definitely wasn't hungry when I left. The soup was delicious, just like mom used to make. The fish sandwich had the perfect amount of breading, with lettuce and tomatoes. I added some of their very tasty tartar sauce. I can't wait to go try their breakfast. read more
