My experience here a few months ago was highly disappointing. First of all, I can't understand why a Mexican restaurant would choose to place white tablecloths down? With all the pepper and tomato-based food mess that happens while eating it just made me nervous to eat. Chips and salsa came complimentary, though the salsa was about 75% onions, which left us after just a few bites unable to taste anything but that. I ordered a chicken chimichanga, and nothing had been done to the meat. It had been thrown on to a grill completely unseasoned, was cooked to the point that it was dry and almost burnt, and tossed into a fried shell. It was unappetizing and disappointing. I'm fairly sure the only person in our party that wasn't disappointed with her food was the one that ordered a cheese quesadilla - and even then the portion size was tiny. While we were craving some of the comforts of home, I don't think we'll be going back. And if you decide to go, be sure to bring a toothbrush and some toothpaste for the onion breath if you want to be within 4 feet of anyone for the rest of your day. read more

My friends love this place so I did give it a try a few times but its just not good...first off it smells like wet dog but you could probably attribute it to the 1975 carpet complete with chalk outlines and pet stains. 10 times better than any restaurant I have been to, del fuego included, by far. I have never gotten such amazing service at a restaurant before in my life. They bring out chips and salsa as a starter, and REFRESHED us with new chips and salsa 3 times before our food was out. The chips were warm and fresh. I got beef tongue tacos , the beef was tender and flavorful. My boyfriend got the chimi changas, they were amazing as well. The servings were heaping. Both came with rice, beans and the works (sour cream, Pico and guacamole- was not extra!) the prices were well worth it. We spent only 60 dollars on everything, including an appetizer which we got the steak quesadillas , which of course delicious as well. They also constantly refilled our water throughout our whole time there. I would go time and time again. My new go-to for Mexican dine in. The atmosphere and decor is also very nice. La Panchita is by far my favorite restaurant. The food is incredible from the combination plates of enchiladas and beef tacos to the fried ice cream at the end of the meal. My family and I have celebrated many of our birthdays here with a Spanish happy BDay song and lots of spoons for the ice cream. Amazing!!! read more

I come here all the time but only eat the chicken or steak quesadillas and nachos. And of course the margarits, they are delicous. I did order a skirt steak one time and I have to say..it was not that good. Chewy, not marinated. However in the quesadillas, the steak is delish. Went here with my boyfriend last night. I ordered a side of guacamole for the tortilla chips. Come to find out when we get the bill they charged us $9.50 for this small ok tasting side of guac! Unbelievable!!! Also our dinners were not that great either! read more

The food is always consistently good and fresh and the green salsa that comes with the chips is amazing! This has to be the worst restaurant I've been to. The staff was friendly and helpful. The margaritas were good. Chips and salsa, also good. The regular food was beyond disgusting. We ordered a shrimp appetizer, and the shrimp smelled off and the sauce was gelatinous. For a main course I had the enchiladas and the chicken looked boiled and the sauce was sour and disgusting. Staff was friendly and attentive. We were seated right away and had our drink order taken. He was very patient with our indecisiveness, and helped to recommend different options. The food was very fresh and we really enjoyed our meals. They were willing to substitute ingredients since I don't eat beef with no problem. Service very good and friendly place was absolutely empty when we went in it. Overall the inside of the place kind of looks aged and dirty. We ordered some basic stuff burritos and tacos. Took almost 1 hour for them to come out of the kitchen. While sitting there waiting we ate some chips it was served at some dirty wicker baskets. Sangrias are delicious. So are the complimentary chips and dip. The sweet plantain side is the best I've ever had. But that's it.... Service is friendly yet very slow even on a slow night. I ordered the Las Carnitas which is a sautéed pork with onions and cilantro served with rice,beans,tortillas. The pork was dry and tough, but the pick de gallo and guacamole it came with was good. My husband ordered the Steak Panchita and the beef smelled and tasted like it was getting bad. Plus, it had no flavor. The rice and beans it came with was good though. Went here Sat. night with 5 others. It was the first time for all. We had a comfortable round table, good drinks, really tasty food and attentive service. Couldn't believe it took us so long to find this place and we all said we would go back again. After returning home, my husband realized he didn't have his money clip and money. This is a great old style mexican family restaurant. Nothing crazy or fancy, with a good menu selection and good prices. My wife's favorite restaurant. I can't tolerate Mexican too much, but do love their Grill Wrap. And their staff is like family. When you go there as frequently as my in-laws have, you get to know them by name. My husband and I have been enjoying La Panchita for years! Service is the best! Great soups (love my Corn Tortilla Soup with avocado!!). Husband swears by the Combo Fajita and Garlic Soup. I love the El Pollo a Whiskey, a wonderful chicken breast in an amazing sauce with pears on the side,, yummo!! And the Sangria is the BEST!!! Definitely get a pitcher of that stuff! One night we talked several patrons into getting their own pitchers and we had an impromptu party!! What a blast! Seriously, this is a fun place with yummy, consistent food. Their Margaritas are amazing and Sangria is awesome...I love their Flautas and Guac...The wait staff are friendly, but its a bit dark and hard to see at times.
