    Patio, plenty of seating

Came for breakfast burrito and shared a bacon, egg, potato, Oaxaca cheese in a flower tortilla. It was great! The eggs were creamy, potatoes were nice bite size chunks, big pieces of flavorful bacon (no fat pieces), stretchy cheese, green salsa was added extra flavor-- all delish!! It was so filling, me and husband shared one burrito!! The restaurant is so cute, clean, and a joy to be inside. The floors look like original hardwood, love the rolling pin decor, and plenty of outdoor seating. Cannot wait to return and try other menu items. Service was helpful and happy.

Got the vegan burrito. I highly recommend! Service was fast. It was also busy which is always a good sign of a good place!

Stumbled upon this small Mexican restaurant while driving around North Park this past weekend. The burrito was delicious, not too greasy and the ratio between soy-rizo, eggs, and potato was perfect. The concha was sooo good! It was very soft and crumbly. The service was quick and efficient. Definitely would consider coming back to try other menu items.

Water station, trash, and where to put your plates away

This location is the only one that had dine in/drive-thru option. On a Saturday at 9am they were not super busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Inside there is only 3 small tables that seat 2-3 people. Outside has bar stools and a few tables. There is a station for water, trash, and plates once you're done. This is an order at the counter and then sit down place. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we walked in. My husband and I got the Chilaquiles rojos with chicken. It was an extra cost for the chicken. The dish was presented well, came with beans as well. The chicken was grilled tender loins pieces, the flavor of the sauce was smoky and had a nice spice, the chips could have been a bit more soft (personal preference, I don't like the chips to be hard in chilaquiles) the beans were a little dry. But overall would rate them a 7/10. I also tried the vanilla concha from their pasty selection, it was a little dense compared to other conchas I've had, the vanilla flavor was not very strong. I would rate it a 5/10. I tried their organic black coffee, they have a self delve station next to the counter, you can add milk, creamer, sugar, cinnamon, and agave to your coffee. I think this place is worth checking out due to the good amount of options they have. We will be back to try their burritos

    Apple empanada

Coworker wanted to go here for a sweet treat. We all looked at the menu and I got the apple empanada. I took a piece and it was good. I heated it up it was even better. Someone else got the chicken tortilla soup. The strips came in a bag and they gave plenty. They only gave her one lime for soup and it was dry. But she enjoyed the soup, she said it was cheesy.

I had the cuerno, which was beautiful to look at but only ok taste-wise. Their organic coffee is delicious! Service was friendly, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Excellent fresh Mex food been coming here a long time for a reason. The employees are like family and I always feel so welcome. I usually do not go on the weekends because it's always packed. I recently moved around the corner from it and couldn't find my pots and pans I was literally eating there everyday I think I've had almost everything on the menu. I will say I hate their potatoes. They're basically cut up little French fry pieces and their flavorless. The only time I include them in my order is if I'm getting the chorizo burrito because then it soaks up the chorizo grease and has flavor. Everything here is reasonably priced they have a great little patio and they're dog friendly.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Best breakfast burrito in SD HANDSDOWN! I am a new regular! Customer service is also amazing.

Vegan Burrito. 1st time. Vegan Burrito was so tasty. Vegan meat with veggies. The meat sauce was wonderful with a hint of spice. Huge Burrito for under $10. Restaurant super clean. Staff was very happy, polite and checked on me. I'll be back soon! BTW- I heard the manager tell a customer they use Skirt Steak in their Carne Asada and Steak Burrito. Wow! I miss eating skirt steak.

They have the BEST chilachiles. I don't even bother ordering chilachiles somewhere else as it would just lead to disappointment. It has some kick to it. And the chips are still somewhat crunchy after all that sauce goodness that they put in. I noticed that they have less bakery items.

Cute little spot that's perfect for takeout. The menu has a good variety and their prices are good. The staff stays inside and you order through a window but they're always kind. The tacos were great but I didn't love the nachos fries because the fries were just not exactly cooked, the potatoes were hard. The salad was also delicious

Super dark and I mean dark, it'll take a minute for your eyes to adjust. Tapas style menu, we were a party of 4 and ordered: Squash blossom Relleno - it's the flower part of a squash plant and stuffed with mushroom duxelles which resembles a meat mixture with squash succotash. Outside is a corn tempura with a tomato base sauce. Pulpo-grilled octopus, one of the best texture and perfectly grilled skin with a chewy yet soft interior. The sauce has a slight kick and crunch from the corn nuts. Crab corn doughnut- this is their specialty and we were about to skip out but glad we didn't. The brioche bun had a donut batter with lumps of crab salad and corn mixture on top. El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Great flavors and texture, the top had ancient chocolate soil and had crispy corn nuts. Different but yummy. Overall, delicious food that came out so quick, great ambiance, we celebrated our birthdays and were each gifted candles with our names on the label. Truly amazing from beginning to end. Street parking only. The spots on the same block are metered but if you drive down to the second street towards residential, it's free.

Did as suggested, used an Uber to get there, didn't see any parking within close proximity as it is connected to the Lafayette Hotel and Club. Beautiful entry way, eyes definitely need to adjust to the darkness, lit candles everywhere; very church-like. The stained glass is beautiful. Tableware, tables, chairs somewhat Gothic. It did smell like candlewax, a bit overwhelming. Being able to see the open kitchen, was hoping to smell amazing dishes being prepared instead. I went by the reviews I read earlier, so we chose the Pulpo, perfect to share. Charred perfectly, tender on the inside on a spread of molè and bits of corn nuts, fabulous! Great presentation! Also tried the lentil spread, filling and plenty to share once again, tangy and spicy; our favorite appetizer. For a dish we shared the Chamoy bbq ribs, fell right off the bone; a tad salty. Corn ribs were tasty, wish they were fresh, a tad mushy and too salty. The pineapple Pico was just okay. We also ordered a passion fruit margarita and a Motomami, both were wonderful! Service was great, we were checked on often but then again it was a Thursday early evening and not busy yet. I would like to visit again and try other suggested dishes, when in town.

California Burritos is very apt for their name, my bf rates it a 10/10. As a California Burrito connoisseur, he liked the addition of sour cream in it and said the flavors were delicious. He topped it with their green salsa for a little bit of a freshness to cut through the richness and fattiness of the meat and fries in the burrito. He didn't care for the fish taco that much and rated it a 4/10 but said the restaurant overall was a 10/10, as he thought there was too much lettuce and tomato throwing off the ratio of the taco.
