They are several different varieties of rolled tacos including a vegan option. In addition to rolled tacos they have. nachos, quesadillas, bowels and street tacos. They always had the best rolled tacos, super crispy and fresh toppings. They now serve tacos, quesatacos, and churros. I saw that they had a grilled fish taco. I asked what kind of fish it was she said it was tilapia. So I got the ribeye steak taco and a carnitas quesataco. It took a few minutes to come out because it was being made fresh. The tortillas were soft and nicely grilled on the plancha. They were smaller tortillas but they were stuffed full of meat and toppings! The ribeye was nicely grilled, soft and tender and lots of meat. The carnitas quesataco was also very tasty. The cheese was melted into the tortilla and the caritas was tender and flavorful. I also added some of the spicy salsa which added a good heat and flavor. There are a handful of communal tables that you can eat at as well as a self serve water spout. You order at the counter and then sit down. The place is very casual so I was surprised that they brought it to me. This was some of best tacos I've had in a long time. I always knew they had the best rolled tacos, now they also have the best regular tacos too! And as always everything is gluten free. They have their own parking lot that they share with Popeyes. We truly had so many excellent meals while vacationing in SD and this would certainly be on our list of Top 3. The place was adorable - artsy, welcoming. Communal seating maximizes the cozy space. All gluten free! I came here with my boyfriend, his daughter and grandson last night. Myself and his daughter are gluten free which helped make this the ideal place to stop. I ordered two tacos. I have Celiac these days, so we drove down to try it out. Their website is bestrolledtacos.com and I'd have to say that's not true. HOWEVER, the guarantee of no cross contamination is a real plus. The taquitos were better than the fish taco, but the four of us agreed that the fillings were universally 'soft'. The coating on my fish taco was so thin that I could see thru it. I make them using a rice flour, turmeric, and soda water mix that really produces a crunch. They could use an upgrade texturally. Note the beans on the combo plate. In one, they have held their scoop shape. They were decidedly underwhelming and the rice was no better. Stick with the taquitos, but unless you need to avoid gluten, I would not eat here. read more

The food was great! Nice and fresh, nothing felt too oily or greasy. The rice and beans could've used like a spritz of lime juice but the mains were delicious. The star is for sure the roller tacos you can customize it so many ways and the crisp tortilla to meat ratio is awesome. Very excited I found this place! Never thought a rolled taco stand is what I needed in my life but it was. They have the formula down for them for sure. Their shredded beef is juicy and flavorful. I could literally eat an 8 count by myself. They also do not skimp on the toppings which I bet much appreciate. Their rice and salsas are also very delicious The churros were decent but my least favorite part. Too crumbly of a shell (and the taste was odd) and the chocolate sauce was kind of bitter. Honestly one of my favorite Mexican "taco" shop to go to in San Diego! As the name implies, they are known for their amazing rolled taquitos aka rolled tacos. I was excited to try their taquitos because it came highly recommended by a friend. I came earlier this evening and ordered the following for takeout: -Beef flavored taquitos, supreme style w/ birria. -California flavored taquitos, supreme style w/birria. The restaurant is clean and the cashier is friendly. I waited 10-15 mins upon placing the order. The cashier handed me my order and I asked for more sauce, but had to pay for it. They only give 1 sauce per order of 4 taquitos, then 2 sauces for 5 or more. I went home, and it wasn't until I was halfway done with my meal, that I realized what I had received, was not what I had ordered. I ordered the supreme style with birria on top, but there weren't any birria. I called the restaurant 8 times (not exaggerating) until "Monse"(?), I believe was her name, finally answered and as soon as I stated I was just there in the last hour, she apologized and knew what went wrong. She mistakenly gave me somebody else's order, which didn't have birria. She said I could just come in next time and they'll comp my meal for the mistake. I was very frustrated at first, but at least they owned their mistake and "Monse" was friendly. The regular taquitos were okay, though I couldn't taste much meat.. I love that I didn't have to worry at all about anything being gluten free and that the prices were fairly decent for Tex mex food overall - no gluten-free up charge!!! Parking was available but I could easily see it being difficult during a lunch rush. The food was great and with beans and rice will definitely fill you to the brim! The whole menu is celiac friendly so go crazy if you GF and been craving Mexican cuisine. Our timing was perfect coming here somehow, it was empty-ish and after we ordered during our wait the line was out the door. It's really like that at El Tianguis! The food was delicious and we were so stoked at how much flavor was in everything we tried we were joking that "this is no good you wouldn't like it" to hog each dish to ourselves lol. Customer service by Manager was very poor. We have been customers since Otay Ranch location, we drove just for the experience again. However, tacos were dry, I tried asking for cream as it seemed it was not added. Mr. M said yes there was and said it was hiding under the lettuce. As a restaurant manager myself, you have to be accommodating to the customer, who is obviously not going to argue over cream. I stand up and asked to cream and they charged me for it, one dollar and some cents, which I had no problem paying. After what I spent for the combo a dollar is nothing.
