This delightful place has ample space, a full condiment bar for the tacos assorted eats . This place is a great place for tacos. Good for large groups and has a big one patio which is quite updated. I stuck with the chin and pork tacos. They were tastey and moist. The side salsas on the condiment stand with ample side vegetables. My friend had the ribeye taco and a chicken one and he loved the rib eye taco. This is a no nonsense taco bar, with quesadilla options , and we saw many people order volcano which is an invented dish unique to this place so I am curious for that dish. Very affordable for such a nice venue. They coffee bar is a great addition. The live music was excellent on a Thursday night when I visited it was so affordable I went back again !

For a restaurant called 'Los Molcajetes,' finding the eponymous molcajete was problematic at first... There is simply a lot happening on this menu, very little of which appeared immediately molcajete-related to me. From tacos and quesadillas to volcanes, steaks, and barbecue, 'Los Molcajetes' apparently does it all. Eventually we gave up looking and asked our waiter, who explained that there is really only one molcajete, and that it is not on the menu and that it is called the Molcajete Especial. Anyway, we ordered one of those. I have to say, the molcajete here was pretty good. It wasn't like a life-changingly good molcajete, but it was solid. Could it have benefitted from more molcajete sauce? Yes. Was it still hot and delicious though? Also yes. Pobody's nerfect. Speaking of hot though, some of the salsas here were nice and spicey, particularly the orange one. I feel like some spots in Puerto Vallarta pull their punches when it comes to heat but whoever is making the salsa at this place is dedicated to the spice and I appreciate that. All in all, you could do worse than Los Molcajetes. The food was pretty good and I think I saw like two separate tables celebrating birthdays. There was also a pretty talented lady singing pop music standards during dinner who launched into a spirited rendition of the happy birthday song. So this is potentially a good spot for groups and families too.

Really enjoyed this place! Delicious tacos, huge side of beans, and awesome salsa bar that included cucumber, pinto beans, nopales (cactus)/tomato salad, and a variety of salsas. Super cute interior, nice bathrooms. Very sweet server. Came on a friend's recommendation and I can see why it's her favorite!

Cash only! The food is great! The atmosphere even better! The salsa bar was great I just wish it had more cilantro and onions but those come already on your food. For the first meal in Mexico this trip I feel like it was great but I know I can find even better! I've had better in the past. But it was really nice!!

Wow!! This place is sooo yummy! I've tried a few different spots on this trip and this one was for sure my favorite. Yes, we even tried ponchos Takos, and yes... this place took the cake. No crazy line, no chaotic environment. I'd recommend this place for sure!

For a place called Los Molcajetes, I was expecting more options for Molcajetes but 1) it wasn't even on the menu, had to ask and 2) there's only one type. The flavors are good but they don't give a lot of sauce and it wasn't as big. Their tortillas are nice and fluffy though. We also tried the volcanes al pastor and that was fine. The star of the show was their salad bar and outdoor seating. Overall, its a decent spot if you're looking for a close by restaurant.

Overrated. During a recent visit to Puerto Vallarta my brother insisted that we visit Los Molocajetes. He raved about the various meats they served, but I wasn't that impressed. We arrived on a week night and was seated immediately. Our server was pleasant and personable which was a plus. There was also a gentleman there singing which added to the ambiance. The restaurant has a nice decor, but it's somewhat smokey due to the grilling of the meat. Everyone in my party ordered the Parrillada Personal. It consisted of top sirloin, chorizo y pastor. It was served with grilled onions, fried beans and guacamole. I really only liked the steak. I didn't care for the sausage or pork. My sister felt the same way. We ended up not eating much of either and feeding the leftovers to stray cats in the area. (PV has a large number of stray cats and dogs away from the tourist areas) The beans were just okay. There's a salad bar with salsa and other popular toppings preferred by the locals. No lettuce, tomatoes or Pico de gallo. The meal is served with warm tortilla shells. We asked for plain mashed potatoes, but they came with melted cheese on top. Rather than complain we just tried to eat around the cheese. I also ordered a limonada which was okay. Overall, I simply wasn't that impressed with the food. It was just okay in my opinion. If I ever visited again I'd probably only order the steak.

Not sure why this place isn't on Google or Yelp already. It's not new but definitely worth noting. Happened upon this nice courtyard grill strolling around Old Town with my wife. We weren't too hungry so ordered light: 1 mango margarita, guacamole & 1 taco al pastor. The drink was strong, the guacamole was a mountain & the meat in the taco was very thinly sliced & very juicy. Also had a salsa bar with about 10 items to choose from. Great relaxing atmosphere with pleasant music. Enrique, our server, was very attentive. We're coming back with an appetite!

Los Molcajetes has a beautiful patio area. It's large and the tables are not on top of one another. I would choose a woven seat over the painted ones. The humidity might leave you Stuck to your seats My favorite drink is the passion fruit margarita. I love passion fruit and this is one of the best . My husband hates the Tajin while I adore it. Quesadillas are so good. Sirloin or pastor with pickled Onions from the salsa bar. I love the salsa bar. The dishes are covered, so no flys. Way more hygienic. I think the negative reviewer doesn't understand good service. If you need a plate, you can just ask. It's not a big deal. In the states the servers won't leave you alone. Every two seconds some one is bothering you. It's not like that here. I am a frequent solo diner- in Mexico they let you be in peace.

Friendly, quick service. Delicious tacos and quesadillas. Handmade tortillas. The sirloin was deliciously tender!

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. Vegans are easy please. Give them clear marked options, even if there is one option, we are pleased. This place had a few clearly marked options plus the staff was fully aware and can provide suggestions. The only downside it is a cash only place. Guacamole and chips - fantastic. The guacamole freshly prepared and chips fresh fried. Amazing. The 3 types of vegan tacos we got were vegan chorizo, mushrooms and cactus (trying for the fist time). The vegan chorizo was the best, slightly spicy but not overly. The poblano peppers were predictable but very good. The onions with it were a good addition. Nicely seasoned and prepared. The cactus was good, we found that it was less seasoned. Just stir fried cactus. The star of all the three types tacos was the fresh blue corn tacos. We could have those everyday. The other superb tasting was the salsas and fresh toppings. 4 types of salsas, white onions and cilantro. The salsa were of varying different levels of heat and even the mildest salsa was the best. The virgin margarita and virgin mojito were great. Margarita being slightly better even though we love mint. Good atmosphere, clean surrounding and great service and vegan food - what more can one ask?
