I have been here twice and I have had different experiences. The first time I ate here, I went here for lunch. I got the General Tso's Chicken and it was not good. It didn't taste like normal General Tso's Chicken and I didn't really receive a lot of food. The second time I ate here was a different story. I got the Sesame Chicken combo meal and it was much better than the General Tso's Chicken. I spent a little more because it was a dinner combo, but I also got more food. For someone looking to eat Chinese food and not spend a lot of money, I would say give it a try. I wouldn't get your hopes up, though. read more

As advertised, this place was delicious. Here is what my girlfriend and I had: large egg drop soup, 4 spring rolls (2 were free), orange chicken, general tso's chicken, chicken fried rice = total $21(cost effective and delicious, my kind of place!) Don't worry, we did not come close to eating all this food in one sitting. We had the egg drop soup, the spring rolls, and a few pieces of chicken from each order. The rest will make a great lunch for tomorrow! Although the cost was great and we were impressed by the quantity of the food, what really blew us away was the quality! We have tried a few other Chinese delivery places in the area which have always just been so-so. However after eating here we now see what we were missing! This chicken was crispy and flavorful and made the other stuff look like a joke. This will definitely be our new go-to Chinese place from now on. Couldn't recommend it enough! I'm only giving four stars because it did take 45 minutes to arrive, and usually Chinese delivery places are lighting fast ;). read more

Wow, talk about pleasantly surprised! Truthfully, this place is nothing to look at from the outside nor inside. But hey, it's basically right by my house so I figured I'd give it a try in a moment of desperation after receiving a menu tied to my door. We ordered carryout and the food was done by the time we got there - seriously, how do they do this? Anyhow, the steamed dumplings were out of this world good and full of meat. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce ..it was less than $10. You also get free Lo Mein with a $25 order. I'm in heaven. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the mood for carryout or delivery. The atmosphere for dining is not much to write home about, unless you're into neon and cheap seats. read more

I ordered at 5:57, at 6:12 the guy was calling me from my lobby. Great dumplings, ok general tso (not bad though) and so ridiculously quick! I definitely recommend them! Ultimately, cheaper than so many other idiotic places with crappy food that take forever and a half (on average I wait almost an hour). read more

New to the area I chose this for its delivery option and for all of the excellent reviews. I was not impressed. It took an hour plus to get delivered and when it did the food was lukewarm. The food lacked any solid flavor and the kung pao shrimp was one of the worst I have had anywhere. We also asked for chicken low mein and they delivered shrimp lo mein. The biggest problem with this is that all of the shrimp were tiny, tasteless, and gave me the impression they were the cheapest shrimp available. They did include 2 "free egg rolls" since we ordered 2 but even they were small and lacked any solid taste. The portions were huge but what good is a lot of something that tastes horrible? Overall there was nothing I as satisfied with that they delivered and I will not be eating here again. read more

Used to be pretty good but now barely earns one star. The salt and pepper shrimp, egg drop soup, orange chicken, combination lo mien and beef with broccoli used to ROCK.....until about six months ago. Then it seemed to depend on who was cooking. Flavors, textures and portion sizes began to vary wildly. The food would sometimes arrive laden with a stomach turning, blinding sheen of undrained oil or so over fried that the food morsel was reduced to a shriveled parody of itself, as if it were the result of a grade school level experiment in rapid dehydration. Despite all that and my better judgment, I decided to give them another chance. I called on Sunday 11/17/13 and confirmed that if an order was placed by 9PM, Panda would deliver. After coordinating the order amongst several people, I called back at 8:45PM. "The drivers have all gone home." This is the third time this has happened at this restaurant. They will tell ya one thing and do another. Open til 9:30PM? Nah. No one's looking. Close at 8:45PM!! Don't count on the hours, quality of food, assurances uttered by staff on the phone or if Panda can keep its doors open for another year. read more

The chinese food here is your standard fare. Have really cheap lunch specials (5.95) and decent prices all around. I did receive a hair in my last order which is why i've downgraded the star but they were appologetic and brought me out a fresh sweet and sour chicken. The kung pao and dumplings as well as singapore noodles are good here as well. It's also very fast as is typical at chinese restaurants but i've never had to wait to get my order past the allotted time. read more

Living right around the corner, I've ordered from Panda Cafe for several years. The food is mediocre at best, but they've been relatively fast, so we've forgiven the long ordering process due to a significant language barrier. I just ordered from a menu I received recently only to find that the specials had changed (I should say that there was no date on the menu). I almost didn't mind that the specials had changed, but I had to speak with 4 people before I was given an explanation I could actually understand... I'm done... This is my go-to Chinese take out. If you can make a tasty Hot and Sour soup I will eat at your restaurant. They also have mastered the art of Mo Shu Pork, and Chow Fun.... It is odd how they never take your name when you order, so when you go to pick it up they make you list everything you ordered... Whats my name B**ch! This place is down the street from my house. Have eaten here a few times and this place is very Mediocre Chinese food. Nothing is really great here. The Pork Lo Mein is decent. Although it can be very salty and greasy.... they do provide you with a good amount of pork in this dish. I would give this dish 3 1/2 stars. The Wonton Soup is a joke. The Wontons are small and fall apart every time in this soup. The broth is very bland. Do not order this dish.... its pretty awful. The Shrimp Spring rolls are not good either. Very greasy, small, and only like 2 shrimps in each roll. The appetizer platter for 1 is ok. Nothing really sticks out. The rib doesn't have much meat on it. The Sesame Chicken is pretty decent. The sauce on the chicken is not overwhelming and has a decent taste to it. If you want cheap Chinese food without a lot of taste then this is your place. There are other Chinese joints around Arlington way better than this place. So don't expect great Chinese food here. read more

Did they run out of rice pancakes and thought nobody would notice!? Sezchuane (sic) chicken and beef with brocolli. All not very good and must have been loaded with MSG was dying if thirst all night. I've been ordering here since they opened and they're always delicious. The girl who handles the phones is super nice and efficient. Their dumplings are amazing and the lo mein is some of the best I've had. My other go-to is the Kung po chicken. Their pricing is also VERY fair. I'd give it 3.5 stars, I'd definitely order from here again, but I don't go for Chinese that often. Decided to go with the regular stuff - lo mein was very good, fried rice was pretty good, general tso was good (wish it had some spice though), orange chicken was a little too orange for me with the cooked peels mixed in, and had a steak and scallop with vegetables dish that was decent. Carryout here sure is quick! Next time I'll just call from outside Panda Cafe! Unless you're a lucky person, just park on the side street be it during mid-day on a weekday or weekend evening. The sesame chicken with broccoli dinner combo was advertised to come with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll and chicken fried rice were good. The fried rice was more brown than what I've seen at other places and it must be from the higher amount of soy sauce used to cook it? The sesame chicken was good but I've had better and while I do prefer that chicken be the main ingredient in sesame chicken, I would've liked a few more pieces of broccoli than literally two pieces. But maybe what the menu really meant by listing broccoli was that broccoli is a garnish. And I love that the sate sauces were prepackaged and out on the counter for the taking! I'm a particular fan of the Kung Pao Chicken and they are accommodating enough to make it for me without watercress nuts. Just your average Chinese takeout place. Not a ton of seating inside. But I was able to go pick up my food within 10 minutes of ordering it. Not bad! My food was pretty average though. I got Kung Pao Chicken and Lo Mein. To be honest, I'm not even sure they gave me the correct thing. There were peanuts in my Kung Pao chicken, but no peppers and hardly any sauce. It just tasted very dry overall and my chicken had that rubbery feel when you took a bite. The lo mein was just ok, and also very dry. This place was pretty cheap and quick, especially when I ordered at 6:00pm on Memorial Day (and they were open). However, I'll probably explore other Chinese takeout options the next time I get the craving. read more

Not good. You get what you pay for. Sesame shrimp toast was pretty decent but that egg foo young was flat out gross. At least it was cheap. The egg items were very bland and I had to really try to find any flavor. There was very little to no seasoning and the meat pieces were tough and lacking flavor. Also, the sauce was very strange (bad strange) to taste and very goopy. The fried rice that came with it tasted stale and had little flavor. The shrimp toast was the only redeeming thing by a small amount. I have had much better though. The inside of this one had no identifiable shrimp section and was all a seemingly white flour mix with some shrimp flavor and other tasty seasonings. They were all very crispy. The only reason why it is not one star is because I have had other dishes from this place that were decent, actually decent. So, it is time to get out a coin and play heads or tails on this one, but I will be surprised if you get a solid dish of "good." read more

I was hungry after getting nails done at the salon (Hollywood nails) right next door. I decided to stop by and grab a quick lunch and it was super quick! I do not think I have ever gotten my food so quickly at a Chinese food place before! There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try so I ordered a bunch of things. All of the dishes I ordered were super tasty, but the sesame chicken and veggie lo mein were outstanding! The cashier was super nice and the place was super clean, which is always a plus. This is Americanized Chinese food that rarely disappoints, but is now the same price as ordering Thai delivery or a really good sandwich from Lost Dog, so unless you really want crappy Chinese, I'd skip it. My (Chinese-American) spouse and I live around the corner from this place. We're vegan, and they had a number of good offerings for vegans and vegetarians. We had the sesame noodle appetizer which was delicious and pretty "authentic" ,as well as the garlic eggplant and the mapo tofu (he thought that could have been spicier, but I thought both were pretty tasty). It sounds like a lot of complaints were with ordering out. We had great service, and the portions are huge for the money. All that and sodas only cost $20. We'll definitely be patronizing them more often! read more

This is really weak Chinese. Panda Cafe is located close to my home in Arlington, and I have had lunch here about five times. The sauces that they use tend to be a bit sweet and thin in their flavor. Today I had the General Tso's Chicken, and sauce had very little flavor or character. It was very light in color as well. Most of the better General Tso's sauces I have had tend to be darker with a deeper range of flavor. Today's chicken went straight from the fryer to the pan, and the result was distinctive oily/fried flavor. It may have just been stale oil. Contrast this dish with the General Tso's at Joe's Noodle House in Rockville, and there truly is no comparison. Overall, this is not the worst Chinese food I have tried, but it is far from the best. Note: For context, I am a native San Franciscan that used to eat Chinese at least twice a week, and have experienced the good, the bad, and the really tasty stuff. The women that I spoke to accused me of purposely placing a piece my own hair on my food! After her rude remark, she agreed to cook something up for me.
