Work provided lunch from Panda Express on Broadway in El Cajon. I ordered a Plate. My choices were chow mein for the side and broccoli beef for the entree. It arrived at my desk in a sturdy container (not Styrofoam thankfully!) and still hot. The container was loaded. The ratio of its contents wasn't the best. Probably 60% chow mein 30% broccoli and 10% beef. They skimped on the beef, but it all had that MSG goodness. LOL! It was good. Even better, it was free. read more

Every time I come to this location, the staff is always on it and polite. They work like they actually enjoy what they are doing. They handle the busy rush pretty well, along with those to go orders that come through. The food is freshly made and I never have any issues with the quality. I've been eating at Panda Express for years and at this location for almost as long. I enjoy the food and have my favorites like orange chicken, green bean chicken, kung pao chicken but sometimes the quality is hit and miss. Also hit and miss is the portion sizes they give out. They've even gone so far as taking food OUT of your plate and put it back. Like what the hell? Also it's really annoying when I get beef and broccoli and I literally get 70% broccoli to 30% beef. Today though was a definite "hit" with quality and portion sizes so thank you for that. My only ongoing complaint would be that I wish they rotate their selections more often to bring in new dishes. The same items month after month year after year does get old but I understand this is a chain restaurant so it is what it is. People are nice and it's always clean. read more

HEALTH VIOLATION. Employee was using a used personal plate to refill his plate to which he has already been eating from. The serving spoon was touching his plate then the food. Temperature probes was used to measure the pans, altering the required food temperature. Temperature probes were not wiped or clean introducing cross contaminations of bacterial or peanut issues. First I come in and we're waiting like 5 minutes when there's no wait. The manager comes in and I tell him I need two bowls and two plates . In one of the plates I ask for chow mein and double super greens as my sides and he's about to serve me chicken string beans. I said no I asked for super greens. He continues to belittle me in front of everyone saying hes confused when I explained it like 4 times. When me and my family usually come here often and he's there. Location is right off the 8 and 67 freeways near parkway plaza. This Panda Express is by far the best one in the area and I'd even drive further to go here than other closer locations. Everything is usually freshly cooked, the restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly and efficient. This location can get busy and there are usually quite a few people in line and sitting in the dining area. The line moves average to quick and you could expect to spend ~10 minutes here if the line is to the door. read more

I'm standing here at the register waiting to pay for my food it is sitting there ready and I'm being ignored by multiple employees. Norma finally helps me with no greeting, no words. I inserted my credit card, it said waiting for cashier. She still never says anything and finally tells me the total, I glance at the card reader still saying waiting for cashier, she still never says anything, no apology for the wait or apology for the lack of acknowledgement. Terrible customer service! Train her or put her in the kitchen. If you cannot speak to customers you should not be cashiering. Mind you the line was out the door as half of us were just waiting to pay. A literal train wreck at Panda Express at 7pm on a Monday. Multiple employees were making themselves plates of food and ringing in their orders all while I stood there waiting to pay. None of them spoke or acknowledged me. Panda in general has just taken such a huge down fall, wait times for me recently have been around 30 minutes for panda yes panda apparently it's that difficult to plate things up. Got like 10 people at the job but only 4 doing anything 2 cooking 2 plating. I live in the area and have gone here many times. Staff are kind and work hard. The place is clean and they stay busy. I accidentally drove tonight to a different location (following gps) and didn't even bother going in. I immediately corrected the gps to this location that I always go to because the food is hot, portions are fair and like I said I think the staff does their best and are professional, efficient, and considerate. This place was fast and great tasting food. The crew was friendly and helpful. The place was clean as it could possibly be.

After I got home with my two item with half rice half noodles, I felt the blood pressure starting to rise! I discovered, hidden under my teriyaki chicken section of the divided container, was rice filled up to the inside ridge of the container to make it appear I had a "normal" serving of chicken. From now on, I'm asking for my choices to be put in the container THEN the rice and/or noodles. It'll be that, or spend my hard earned money somewhere else where I can be appreciated and no slick moves to rip me off! I can't say for sure if this was an employee's " mistake, or an instruction to them. On top of that, there was only one guy cooking and two servers who also rung orders up. I do not know why this business only has a 3 star review. I ordered. Take out for a party of 18. 3 main dishes, 3 sides, all the sauces 24 spring rolls... the food was just ready when I got there. Packaged in great serving dishes. I was proud to lay it out on my table. There was plenty of food. And we all loved it. It was perfect. Decided to stop by Panda Express for lunch today with my son. I came here and I was gonna try the new honey almond chicken when I got up to the counter there was only about 5 pieces in the bowl so I ask the lady if she was going to make anymore chicken?? her response was that's enough for a serving, to which I nodded no and said ok thank you I'll have something else. She then proceeded to follow me all the way down the counter to the cash register encouraging me to take the last of the chicken that I didn't want. It's not the fact that it was the last of the chicken it was the fact that I wanted 2 servings on my plate. I ordered Teriyaki chicken instead and there still wasn't enough for the 2 plates that I ordered, so here I am waiting 20 minutes later, still sitting outside, waiting for my food. So I have my son go in and check on my order and wow and I shocked by the disrespectful comments to my 11 year old son. Her response from the manager on duty duty was " we're still waiting on chicken, I told you it would be 10 minutes.' Now my super greens and my other plate of good is getting cold. Good job panda. Stopped by today at about 6:00. The girl who was doing rice/chow mien had a bad attitude from start with me and everyone else she served. I see what other people were saying about the portions. She give me a skimpy scoop of shrimp that I pay extra for. And the rice is ... well look at the picture. When she handed it to the next young man he added more shrimp and offered to give me fresh orange chicken without having to ask. Him and the rest of the team were quick and efficient and showed great teamwork.
