I sampled a bit of almost everything. No complaints about the taste of the food. my biggest challenge is that if I pay $14 for a meal I want it to be hot. That was not the case today. The help seemed to be friendly, even more so to the regulars. I did feel that a soda or tea should have been provided in the price. If the steam tables were keeping the food hot this would be a solid 4 star review. Can't complain about the variety. there was a little of everything.

Not like buffet food from the 90s but it's ok. I drove down here from Escondido. There was a great place in Poway back in 1990 but they're long gone. But this is the only place I know now.

I really needed a Chinese fix today, so I wanted something a little different but I wanted a buffet, and I found new century buffet. I'm glad I tried it. It has more food choices than the one we go to in La Mesa, and the soups are a lot more tasty. Selection is awesome, the sushi choices are far better than our other buffet, which we probably won't be visiting from now on, this will be our go to Chinese buffet place. Price is a reasonable, $15 for lunch, and $20 for dinner. The reason I left three stars and not four, the rice they put out in a pan is dried out because it's just sitting there steaming and all the moisture is cooking away. I also had iced tea with my meal, it was so sweet that it could make you sick or gag. The service was good, and it was nice and quiet in there, and it should be getting four stars. But to put rice in an open pan, I've never seen that before especially not white rice. Anyway, you'll find something to eat, and I had a large variety of things. I took pictures.

One of the best buffets I been to food was good . 17.99 for dinner. It's in El Cajon California of fletcher parkway. They are professional and polite they check on you. I had susi hot wings. Shrimp noodles. Yes I recommend them and I be back. Not many all you can eats still around.

8/02024 - I haven't been here in a while and usually go to 1968 in El Cajon or anywhere on Convoy daily for Asian food. I went at opening at 11am because I hate crowds. Already people in there eating. When I left about 20% full of capacity. Large selection of items. I tried a little bit of everything. Everything was average tasting. The best items IMO were the donuts, fried squid, wings and I killed the butter shrimp. Probably ate 1/2 a pound of shrimp. I always leave $1 per plate for a tip. I had 2 plates. Employees were nice. Floors are old and ceilings have water stains. I was disappointed in the kung pau chicken, no flavor and is always go for this dish. A total of 3 stars. See photos. Total cost was $15 for 1 adult. Oddly, the signs for the lunch food selections were never replaced and showing dinner selections.

Very solidly decent. I come often with my dad. I love the teriyaki chicken. Idk what kind of crack they put in it but it's great.

Food was okay. But, someone there stole my credit card number and made unauthorized purchases! Don't trust them if paying by card.

The service was nice and the staff is super friendly. The food is pretty ok, I mostly had sushi and seafood, can't beat the lunch price.

Later, they changed the frog legs to weekends only, so we haven't been coming as often as we used to. Since it's an Asian buffet, there are plenty of Asian dishes to choose from. The udon soup wasn't very impressive to me, but honestly, we mainly come here for the frog legs, so we usually don't eat too many of the other dishes. The staff are quick and hardworking, but it seems like they could use a few more people. Sometimes when we need something, we almost feel bad asking because everyone looks so busy. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean. Parking is also easy, and the parking lot doesn't have too many speed bumps, which is a nice little bonus.

For one thing there is Mongolian barbecue. If you want hot, freshly cooked food, take that route. You also have decent quality sushi. But fried things, like french fries, are always cold. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for what you get: * Lunch Buffet (Mon-Fri): $16.99 * Dinner Buffet (Mon-Fri): $20.99 * Weekend & Holiday Buffet: $20.99 * Drinks not included For the price this buffet is one of my favorites to bring the eating machines I call sons. We arrived right when they opened, and that was definitely the move. Everything was hot, fresh, fully stocked, and looked like it had just come out of the kitchen. The selection was huge. There was sushi, teppanyaki, soups, seafood, Chinese dishes, American comfort food, pasta, pizza, salad, 3 different soups, soft-serve ice cream, fondue, and desserts. The seafood section alone had enough options to keep me busy for several trips. The only thing I wish they would improve is labeling the food. With so many different dishes available, it was hard to tell exactly what some items were without asking. The buffet line was constantly restocked and upkeep. What really stood out was the service. Our drinks were consistently refilled, empty plates disappeared quickly, and the staff never made us feel rushed, even when we stayed a while sampling everything. They were attentive without hovering. We even got fortune cookies at the end. Overall, if you're feeding a family with growing teenagers who eat like competitive athletes, this place delivers a lot of variety for the price. Come hungry and pace yourself--you'll need a strategy to make it through all the options. Great value, friendly service, and enough food choices to keep everyone happy.

My experience at the Retreat swim-up pool on Friday, 8/21, was unfortunately not what I expected…read more When you go to a swim-up bar, especially at a resort, you expect at minimum a friendly and welcoming bartender. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with Mabel. When we first swam up, we asked if we could also order food. Her reaction made me feel as though the question itself was an inconvenience, but I brushed it off. We were also told the frozen drinks were unavailable for the entire day. My friend ordered hers on the rocks instead, and for the price she was charged, she expected to actually taste the alcohol, but unfortunately, she could not taste it. The service itself was the biggest issue. Mabel knew we were together, yet she took my friend's order and began making her drink. Before she started, I asked if I could order as well. She barely responded with a "yeah" and continued making my friend's drink. She didn't take my order until after my friend's drink was completely finished, the bill had been printed, and my friend had signed it. My friend asked Mabel, again, if I could order, It created an unnecessary delay when she could have simply taken both orders together. When she finally took my order, I went to retrieve our phones. I came back and my bill had arrived, but my beer had not. My food came and Mabel was only about three feet away, yet I had to wave to get her attention just to remind her about my drink. At no point did she check on us or ask if everything was okay, despite being right there. I also noticed two other women swim up after us. Mabel didn't acknowledge them for quite some time. She eventually approached them and asked, "What can I get for you?" They had to ask for a menu because one had never been offered to them. The overall impression was that Mabel simply did not want to be there. There was very little warmth, engagement, or basic hospitality, and it was noticeable enough that I found myself paying attention to how she interacted with other guests as well. The swim-up pool is supposed to be a fun, relaxed, lively environment where guests are there to enjoy themselves. I'm not expecting a bartender to entertain us, but I do expect basic friendliness, attentiveness, and hospitality. Mabel may need additional customer-service training, or perhaps the swim-up pool simply isn't the right environment for her. Either way, this experience definitely took away from what should have been an enjoyable afternoon at the resort. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the service at the swim-up bar can have a big impact on the overall guest experience.
