I came to the drive through at 1:00 pm 4/27/26. I ordered a 3 item plate with chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, teriyaki chicken and power greens. I wish my only complaint was the ridiculously small portion sizes, or the fact that they gave me the wrong item (sesame chicken instead of shrimp), or the fact that the food looked old and tasted older or the problem with how extremely oily it was. But it's all of those things and it was inedible. The teriyaki chicken was fatty pieces of (probably) tossed aside chicken. The sesame chicken was dried out. The chow mein was oily. I was on my road trip to Sacramento on Wednesday night... and decided to stop in Lathrop for some panda express because I was literally dying to eat after not having eaten for a whole day. The next thing you know, it turned out to be the most quickest, and most convenient drive-through that I have ever gone through (not to mention, knock on wood, that it is PANDA EXPRESS!) I got their plate with chow mein, broccoli beef, and teriyaki chicken. When I tell you that they cooked everything really well, they actually did, and it didn't taste too dry or too runny. I love the consistency and the texture of how juicy the teriyaki chicken was, and how saucy the broccoli beef was as well. The person that was taking my order was really helpful, and even asked me to donate to charity for a cause... and I gladly said yes. I would recommend this place if you want to get a quick bite via drive-thru, as this could be the best option. When you're inside & they ask you "for here or to go?", they should tell you the forks and napkins are by the left door exit. So that way people don't have to go back just to get a fork. I'm also sick of them asking for donations when most people like to do research on the charity they donate too since a ton take most of the income & only a fraction goes to the actual recipients. The Panda Express is AMAZING! The food is well prepared and they make a new batch every so often, that way it stays fresh. Their egg rolls are kind of expensive and okay though. It's in the perfect spot if you're going to Tracy, or Arnold. The people working there are super nice! They always work super hard, and if theres a mistake, don't be afraid to ask. The restrooms DO have a passcode, but it's pretty simple. Honestly, it doesn't make sense because even if you're not eating there, they'll still let you use it. And if you want the passcode, just ask! The lines are usually short, but sometimes a little long. The seating are red booths, and DO NOT get cleaned often. You'll always find crumbs and pieces of food leftover. But with every meal you get a complimentary fortune cookie for each person at your table along with the bill. 4/28/25 - I visited the Lathrop location today after working a night shift as a nurse -- tired, hungry, and without any sleep. When it was time to order, a girl named Carolina took over. I asked for walnut shrimp, and I watched her scoop some out, only to put some pieces back as if she was counting each one. She served me 7 pieces, leaving 4 pieces still on the tray. I politely asked if she could add the remaining 4 pieces, even offering to pay extra, but she refused. Later, she walked around the restaurant checking in with customers, even though there was no line, but completely skipped over my husband and me. Order Honey Walnut Shrimp online, came to picked it up. Everything went well to this point. I decide to take a bite of the honey walnut shrimp at a stop light just for taste. Shrimp turns out raw and undercook, the breading on the outside was soft. I immediately went back and ask for a refund, manager came out and try to help but took another whole 25 minutes just to refund the honey walnut shrimp. By this time, all the food I ordered is cold. The food taste is the main issue (always stale) but also it's a roll of the dice if your carryout order is even half correct. Their mistakes are not isolated and are costly for the customer. Anyone can make an occasional mistake. This is not that. I went yesterday, having forgotten about the screwups of the last visit, a long time ago - for a good reason. I paid a lot for grief and not much else. I ordered three dishes and only one was partly correct. The other two were totally wrong. There were other mistakes that make this review less positive than it could have been if not for their carelessness. I am not interested in making a scene, yelling, arguing to wake up dolts in the restaurant industry as to what their responsibility is when they take money for food and service. However, a negative review seems entirely fair. I patronized their establishment, paid the price they set, received the quantity and quality of food they controlled. I contacted them to seek redress and they failed in that regard. Another failure. How surprising. Thus a review that attempts to save others from the same fate. At around 12:37PM 10/22/2020 an employee at the register Asian Female (believe name was Lily) was very rude to me and at least to 1 other customer ahead of me. Before I ordered my $11.80 meal. I needed access to the restroom. It was locked & had a Key Pad on it. I asked the cashier, since she looked the least busy for the combination for the restroom. Keep in mind only 3 customers where in line or ordering food at the time. 1st I couldn't understand her very well. I asked for the code 3 times politely. Went back to cashier & asked for the combo a 4th time, so that I could clean myself up. Not only was I visibly handicapped with a cane in hand but also a US Veteran. Another customer mentioned to me the cashier could help me but said "she has a B*tchy attitude." I agreed. Post pandemic Panda Express is nothing like their original restaurant. No more ice tea dispenser. Soft drink machine has tea but not the original huge tea dispenser. If you like "fake" iced tea, big brand name stuff, you'll survive it. Food portions are subject to an untrained young adult who deems how full a scoop should be. They got mad and started having an attitude when I said the 1st box is half rice and noodles please put aside, next box have collard greens and rice please put aside, third box has collard greens and rice please put aside. I need a big box of walnut shrimp. Because I asked to put aside so we can come back to each box they lost it and had attitude and refused didn't to follow what they are asked to do from a customer. I still don't have two boxes with rice and collard greens but I have two boxes with noodles and rice. However because they couldn't do what I asked them they got all four of my orders wrong and refuse to correct it and when I asked when will the teriyaki chicken be ready they rolled their eyes and told me it will be at least 30 minutes or more with heavy sighing. When I asked to go back and check my box's so I can make sure it had everything that it needs to have, they didn't want to do that. The service of the workers were rude and have side remarks and eye rolling with heavy sighing was all uncalled for. I could have done without for today. I have done this order this way many times at this location as well as other locations and never had any complications and rudeness like I have today.
