This Panda has steadily improved its service for the last 4 years. Sometimes they make you wait, and subsequently forget about you in the parking lot. I've seen less of this over the last year or so. Nobody wants to hear "5 minutes" only to wait 15 to 20 minutes. Hey, it's Panda, not China Town in NYC or LA. Not the greatest but usually somewhat consistent. My biggest complaint is, they tend to have children's type foods always available ("orange chicken") but with adult food, you might have to wait. If I had to decide between Panda and Ono Hawaii, I'd take Panda in a second. I'm not much for sweet entries. Bring back Firecracker Chicken please! read more

My lady and I had driven a long way from UCSF after a cancer check- up and decided to drive home to Fresno via Los Banos. As we like Panda we decided to stop at the one on Pacheco Blvd only to find a rude young lady who wouldn't even give us a sample saying " we don't give samples." Not only that, she told us " we don't have trays." Not only is this a very rude place, but the portions I saw were cheap. We have eaten at many Pandas and have found them to be very generous in portions and do provide " samples.. We were starving from a 3 hour drive and were terribly treated. Shame on them. Sunday July 11, 2021, 225pm, it's 111 degrees, having driven 71 miles from Fresno, where it hit 113. No way we were having outdoor dining, and not adept at eating at 75mph and steering the car. Pulled into the parking lot, and all the shaded areas taken by parked cars. So no eating in the car. Was hoping they would have dine in in the middle of the pandemic. Opened the front door of the restaurant and greeted with a welcome AC. No spider webs on the ceiling as mentioned by Fred in a 2019 review -spider probably another covid casualty. We only got water so didn't have any problems with sanitation at the fountain drink area. Very few people ahead of us for the ready to eat hot trays selection of food. We got our meal immediately without waiting. Ordered $9.70 big plate of noodles, kung pao chicken, orange chicken and Beijing beef, skipping over the broccoli beef, my wife's favorite, as it appeared to be short of beef. Got two waters, and sat down on some high seats next to the window, doing people watching, as we were the only non Hispanics in the restaurant, where there was more Spanish than English spoken. Even the staff was Hispanic. Meal comes with thin rice noodles, whereas I prefer thicker chow mein type noodles. Wife gobbling down the kung pao chicken like it was her last meal. Must have been good, as she ate it all, with water to drown out the spicy hot pieces of red chilis. Not too fond of the orange chicken, but it's their most popular dish, and can taste good when eaten immediately before it dries out. The Beijing beef was also above average, with about seven good size pieces or 5.5 ounces, the size of the portions when I last weighed the individual dishes. Not too tough on the teeth, and at least didn't have a temporary crown to lose! Clean environment, AC with outdoor temps at 111, friendly staff, prompt service, decent food, only relatively small serving sizes. Nothing else to complain about. Didn't use the bathrooms, but wife says they were clean, as they should be for a town named Los Banos. read more

ooooopha this one was rough. We were heading East and chose this particular Panda Express to stop but there were alot of issues. First off the restaurant was really messy. Not just the kind of messy that a large crowd leaves but rather one that points to system issues with the underpinnings of how its being manged and the lack of quality assurance etc. First off while we were in line, its a huge turn off to see cobwebs attached to the decorative bamboo. A meer glance to the left showed a huge black stained air vent. The straw that broke the camels back was the level of crust and food particles around the holder for the drink lids. If I dipped that into a cup hot water I could make soup. Pretty gross. (pics attached) The next issue was organizational. We did hit them at a busy time, and the staff was trying to make both dining room orders and the drive through but it was chaos. People darting in and out of the line, people dishing one item for someone waiting then suddenly pop out to grab something for a drive though order. Someone else would grab the order and try to finish it etc. People needed clear direction and perhaps delegation of tasks etc. The lack of proper cleaning/inspection and the inefficient teamwork point to a need for a better organization and quality control. This guy went outside to take out the trash, I called out to simply ask if they are still open. Pretends to not see what is clearly on visible on this photo headlights being on, he then slams the door to emphasize it's closed. How busy could you be that you can't take minute to a nice human being. I guess the headphones is making him deaf and rude. My husband and I stopped by here for a quick bite on our drive back home from Norcal to SoCal. This Panda was not so Express. The line wasn't even that long, but my goodness, it took over 20+ minute for us to place an order and get our food. To top it off, our order was incorrect when we got it. There were at least SEVEN staff members seen in the back but only 1 register open. I've been to plenty of Panda Expresses and I've never had an experience like this before. To top it off, we're still in a pandemjc. There was no staff member taking any precautions of wiping down tables in between customers nor was there any enforcement of physical distancing or masking when not eating. Probably the most unprofessional environment. Placed an order on the app, which was supposed to be ready by 8:40 pm. Showed up at 8:50, expecting the order to be ready for pick up but to no surprise the order was still not ready. It took 5 employees to pass me by before I was acknowledged and asked if I needed help. I was told it would be an additional "5-10 minutes" for my order to be ready but in reality it took an additional 25 minutes.
