    Bigger Plate
    Maria C.

The price of the food is not worth it. There is no meat at all, it's only peppers and Chinese broccoli. The meat is less than 5 small pieces considering that you have to pay extra $1.50 on black pepper steak. I also noticed that there is a customer preference from the server. If they know or like them, they dish out more on the plate. This is not the kind of customer service Panda used to have. Thank you.

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else here will their service is below subpar the workers are slower than molasses one cook and 3 order takers that does door dash and cashier and food prep. I don't think they really care about their service cause they know if they want the food they will come back definitely room for improvement during dinner rush food tray were empty there should be 2 cooks knowing it's dinner time it should be clock work and one person does it orders for door dash. I don't think I'll be coming here or any other surrounding panda unless I have the time to wait I unfortunately I'm on a lunch break took 20 mins to get my food that leaves me with 10 mins to scarf it down. Just fyi if your planning to eat here pack ur patience it's gonna take a while

Got the online order fast but the messed up on a simple task, I just wanted chow mein but got fried rice instead. Probably was because of the lunch time rush, please don't do me and my family wrong the next time.

Tiny portions for high cost. We will go to small mom and pop places instead. I like Silver Chop Sticks and the food is much fresher and more generous for the price. Won't be back. The food was just meh.

    Uncooked mushroom chicken.

Very bad service. Manager/cook said fried rice was going to take 5 minutes to be cooked but it was more than 30 mins to actually cooke the fried rice then she didn't even cook the mushroom chicken that I order. Waited for another customer to be served then manager started cooking my order because they don't have enough on the trays. It took them almost an hour to get my order ready. When I got home and started serving the food the mushroom chicken that I ordered was uncooked. I have to recooked it because the chicken and the vegetables are NOT cooked. Mushroom was still raw and zucchini was still hard especially the chicken was still raw. I am very disappointed with this service especially the managers behavior. If the corporate is reading this you need to have a better training with your night staff. Let me remind you that I'm feeding children with these foods. I am not pleased with the service today 09/14/20 @ 8:35 pm. Whom ever the manager was tonight needs to be retrained. This is not a good place to get Chinese fast food anymore. Not recommended.

Food was so much better this time around than the last time I had been there. They really must've had a bad night when I had gone previously. Small restaurant in the of a little strip mall off of Main Street. They serve classic Chinese American food and unlike most places in the Bay Area that are family style dishes preferably on a Lazy Susan during dinner time. They offer rice plates, or combo plates for individuals, similar to lunch specials. I selected several dishes and asked the server which was the most popular amongst the dishes I chose, and she let me know the salt and pepper fish, which I got with chow mein. We also ordered shrimp & broccoli, and sweet-and-sour pork. Everything appeared made to order and looked very fresh. From grandma to the babes everyone was happy with their food. Mine was more on the plain Jane with just fried fish, luckily it came with sliced jalapeños to give it a kick. Next time I'll order a spicy eggplant dish. This is a good place to go to if you're with a group of picky eaters. Price is very reasonable, especially for dinner.

7/5 /25 Update 3/5 This has been a long time coming…read moreunfortunately. Ever since the previous owners sold the place the quality has dropped significantly. Consistency has been a major issue not only with food but with policy. When they first took over I'm sure there were some learning curves and maybe tweaks to the recipes. I wanted to give them a fair shot to get things right. Not sure if the old cooks stayed or if they got new ones? Did the new owners have the recipes changed? Did they change suppliers of ingredients, etc, I just don't know. What I can tell you though is that at least some of the dishes are different and are off from what I remember. The general Tao sauce I thought tasted different but necessarily bad. But combine that with a definite lack of crisp/crunch with the fried items and that's gonna be a problem for me. This time around, I only got the general tao beef because unlike my previous visit, they did not allow me to order the general tao beef in the combo plate as in upcharge (just last week or the week before it was allowed). I've been multiple times since the change in ownership. Partly because of the convenience of the location and partly because of the hope that whatever meal I eat at any given time will at least satisfy my fix for their type of Chinese American food. Unfortunately, the fried items I loved so much like orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and general tao beef alike are all severely lacking the crunch from the fry. As of late I've been getting the General Tao Beef to track consistency and it's been consistently under cooked in terms of the batter. The beef itself has been rubbery and to the point where I can't even break apart a piece and end up having to eat it whole lots of times. The other problem is that the pieces are large inconsistently cut (sometimes with, sometimes against the grain) strips making for a difficult chew. And because of the lack of crunch the fried battered outside just falls apart when you bite or try to cut it apart. The last two visits, but especially this one considering I ordered extra crunchy, were severely undercooked and soggy. it was to the point this time where I basically had to scrape off the majority of the batter and just eat the rubbery beef inside. It really does bring me pain to drastically drop the rating of a place that I once loved. I hope one day they can make the fixes so that I can continue to enjoy their food once again. I gave them a 3/5 but honestly, it probably should have been 2/5. I think the chicken with hot garlic sauce might be just good enough to keep it at 3/5 even though the last three times I ordered it. It was inconsistently hot (with cold spots) temperature wise.

For me this place is a 3/5. I ordered the general chicken and orange chicken. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I came maybe about 10 min later. Got the food and tasted it soon after I got to my car. Orange chicken lacking in that orange pop. General chicken lacking in overall flavor. What was the most unforgivable though was the soggy chicken. Eating at its optimal level would be eating it fresh at the table at the restaurant. Next best thing would be in the car as soon as you got it. But it's a to-go restaurant to realistically your eating it at home after it's traveled for however many minutes. As expected when I got home it was soggy. But it was already as soggy as possible to begin with. Why is this place a 4/5 I have no idea. Maybe since I came during off peak hours so they foods just sitting around and there's no fresh food turnover? No idea. Maybe I'll give them another chance one day but who knows. Also factor in that they don't have rice plates and the cost of pure entrees alone and that's a negative for me. I didn't know how lacking Chinese food was in Manteca because I was spoiled by the old Kitty's Kitchen. Nothing compares in the area.

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)
