This Panda express always defeats the purpose of Panda express for me...they always wait until someone orders something to make it, or just have a very minuscule amount available. I don't go to Panda Express to get food made to order. At that rate, I'd go elsewhere. Last night I went in, asked if they had any more of an item. The girl told me that they did, and showed me 4 small pieces of chicken. That's what you're saving to serve to guests without anticipating making more? It was almost insulting to be honest. Of course they're going to wait for me to ask and then make me sit and wait for it. I've actually mentioned this multiple times in surveys and still have the same issue...disappointing. Standard Panda Express experience at The Shops at Mission Viejo. They give decent portions, and overall, the food was good. The noodles and rice were a bit dry, but the teriyaki chicken and hot orange chicken were solid. Pretty good overall at decent prices. read more

The first was : 1 Panda Bowl they call it - Chow Mein x 2 MUSHROOM CHICKEN -MAIN ENTREE Second Entree : Mine - One Plate Chow Mein x 2 Honey Walnut Shrimp Honey Sesame Chicken Cheese Ragoons X -2 Panda Express Donation Total Paid $27.30 We got home a 10 min drive to find the plate with One Entree only had the two sides of chow Mein no main entree and that was REALLY DISAPPOINTING when you paid $8.40 for the dinner - your not wanting just CHOW MEIN. I tried calling the restaurant 5 times and the phone goes to their Voicemail and they will NEVER RETURN YOUR CALL OR NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE . What is wrong with this STORE ?????? I personally live about 20 mins away but I have my receipt still and will go by there one day next week to get my money back as I now don't want the dinner after all this . The food is five stars but the customer service is 20. There's this lady there, I've been there a few times. She reminds me of a kindergarten teacher. Incredibly kind, warm and, just not what you expect when going to a fast food restaurant. Her attitude really sets the standard for everyone else and it is hands down the best customer service experience I've had not just at a fast food joint but any restaurant, or really any business in a very long time. Probably 3.5 stars but being generous. I've been coming here a couple years now and honestly, if you understand these kind of pre made quick take out Chinese joints you know they all pretty much will be consistent. Nothing here will ever wow me, or even make me feel like I'm going to be chowing down on some real authentic Chinese food. What you will get is decent food, at a good price and always pretty quick. The Beijing Beef is my fave, but as many others, you will find Orange Chicken on my plate. The chow mein is mostly cabbage nowadays, not sure if it's a cost thing, but you won't be getting a lot of noodles. I opt for white rice instead of fried rice, just a preference for me. I've had many different items and I am always satisfied. It's good, quick and relatively cheap, so you can't go wrong. The staff is always super nice as well. Worth the trip. read more

First time at this location. Staff is very friendly at this location. I ordered a family meal with 3 large entrees and 2 sides. My entree choice was orange chicken, broccoli beef and chicken mushroom with chow mein and fried rice. Panda is a good choice if you are craving Chinese American fast food. The family meal gives you enough food for 4-5 people depending on everyone's appetite. Note: if the entree is running low ask to wait for a fresh batch. I like Panda Express, and this is not a review about their food and service although that could be improved also. It has to do with their app and POS and how it functions. I used the T Mobile deal that must be ordered online. Seems that the order section of the app has a section on it to provide special instructions about to order. I did this and when I got to the restaurant the order was not according to my special request. Seems that this special request section on the app does not get communicated to the staff. They only see if you want condiments. Not sure why the IT department cannot correct this problem. Seems that the staff knows about it, and it is not a recent problem. The staff did not seem concerned. I finally talked them into correcting to issue but what a hassle. Management needs to look at this issue and train the staff on how to properly respond when this comes up. Speaking on IT issues their gift card reader rarely works so the numbers have to be entered manually. This has been going on for at least a couple of years. Please fix these issues read more

Ok. Aside from me being a slightly disappointing Asian by literally using Yelp to review a "Chinese" food chain, I have to give this location as much credit as I can. The staff today 10/7/22 at around 4 pm is excellent. They are so friendly and efficient, particularly the female staff working there. They were extremely polite and hospitable, I was shocked that I was given better guest treatment here at Panda Express than I have at more high-end restaurants. The crew was all working quickly, everyone had their masks on which was a nice surprise, and everyone's hair was covered. I can't in good conscience rate a pandex a 5/5, but I mean, for the expectation of what Panda Express offers, they really do deserve much praise. Note: I came in for the plant-based orange chicken bowl that was on a B1G1 offer and was not disappointed. The chow mein was fresh and actually flavorful (I've been to PandEx locations where it tastes like cardboard, and even real Chinese restaurants), the super greens/ bok choy/ cabbage/ broccoli blend was fresh and not over cooked and the flavor was on point for a Panda Express orange chicken. They know what they're doing in this realm of faux Chinese, and honestly Panda Express is 10x better than Pf Chang's which is dried out overcooked and overpriced. Kudos to the staff. Came here on a Saturday night and was nicely greeted by the staff as I walked in. I had place an online order and the pickup time was 7:25 pm. As I got in, I noticed that it was already ready by 7:22 pm, so good timing. I went to the front, saw my order and picked it up to go back home. There was literally no one in the restaurant except for me so it was pretty quiet, but nothing beats the comfort of home. I got home and opened up my 2 plates. One had the orange chicken/chicken string beans with chow mien. The other had beef and broccoli/mushroom chicken. I would have given this place 4 stars because everything was good except they gave me very little string beans and chicken. I was surprised by how much beef in the beef and broccoli they gave me. Everything else was standard and cooked well, which is more than I can say from the Panda Express in Cypress. Overall, good meal, so walked away happy. read more

I waited and they forgot to start it and I had to ask them again ten minutes after I told them I was there. So 16 minutes after it was time for the order.
