Food was fairly good. We've never had an issue at this location until tonight. The reason for the 1 star was the manager, Evelia. No customer service skills whatsoever. Rude. Abrupt. We always ask for the kung pao chicken without actual peanuts Due to an allergy. Never been an issue with any other manger, until tonight. We asked for some w/o peanuts and Evelia said "NO. Was can't change the recipe or take out anything". We explained we have never had an issue with this before, the chef acknowledged he made it for us a week ago no problem, but she kept yelling "NO I will not make a new one". If she would've been pleasant about it, that's one thing, but she was extremely rude and did not care about the peanut allergy at all. She is not management material, as she has zero people skills. We had 2 large orders that were scheduled at two different times. When we arrived they had the first order ready but we were too early for the second. They whipped together the 2nd (larger) order within minutes and helped us with our food to the car. They even asked us if we'd like a drink while we waited. Great service team Panda! read more

Salmonella on 4/6 via Teriyaki Chicken-- I unfortunately got Salmonella from this establishment on Thursday, April 6th. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with Fried Rice. My wife ordered the Orange chicken with noodles and was fine. We know it was from here, given all of the meals over the next two days were with family and they were okay. I've had food poisoning one other time, and it was one brutal day. This was 2-3 days of pure agony. Unfortunately, when I ate the chicken it felt a bit chewy & rubbery but I proceeded. Yesterday, I picked up dinner from Panda Express in Mission Viejo on Marguerite / La Paz and during checkout, I asked about getting 2 sides on a bowl for the add-on price rather than the À la carte price. The cashier (xxxxxx) advised that was possible. I explained that I wanted to do this because I had a buy one get one free bowl. They understood and said that would be fine. The next day at lunch, I ordered 2 bowls and 2 add-ons. When I got to the cashier, they asked the Manager (xxxxxxx). The Manager advised that xxxxxxx didn't know anything and that they cannot do this when I use a coupon. I was extremely disappointed and paid significantly higher than expected. It is disappointing that one cashier is trained differently than another and that the manager would said that the cashier doesn't know anything. So glad to hear there is a Panda closer to my house. I usually go to Panda 1-2 per week. I have been to this one 4x now. Not sure why but this locations gives the smallest portions I have ever been to. It was the same all 4 times. I don't think there will be a 5th. I mean they barely fill up the scoop and it seems like they were ordered to only fill up the cutout in the containers and that is it. I understand inflation but the prices have gone up and portions are extremely small. Recently they came up with this idea of having us order with a post-it wo looking at the food. The purpose of coming to Panda is to see what is fresh. Also, I still have to give the post it to the server and read it back to them. What is the point? I will be driving further to my previous location. This is sad because I was so excited to have this one. Crew are super nice though. read more

This lady named Mariana over there stared at us weirdly and with an attitude already when we came in, then when it was our turn to order, the entrees she gave us were so little (not the portion we normally get from Panda). Panda Express has good food however this location never ever ever has enough food prepared. Expect to always be told when you order, it will take 5 to 10 minutes, and they expect you to wait as they move you down the line to pay. Today was the final straw! I know it's cheap and unhealthy food, but just not even edible. The service was atrocious with untrained young staff, food wasn't ready. People were all waiting around. Soooo salty; Just a mess. The broccoli beef was just broccoli. I gave Panda one last shot. Never again. It seems restaurants, quality, services are all going in the wrong direction these days. In general, you wouldn't think to review a chain like Panda Express - after all you should know what to expect. We had catered Panda Express for an event and the staff was extremely helpful from start to finish. Jocelyn was very helpful in taking our order and giving us suggestions. On pickup a few days later two different staff help me took the items to my car. There was a small mixup on one of the items but they more than rectify the isssue. If I have to cater again we would be more than happy to revisit this location. read more

The red haired lady that starts you off with your order such as the rice/noodles etc, gave me the smallest portion of ive ever seen, she was handing everyone else proportions like there was no tomorrow, and then sees me and gives me nothing. I thought i was crazy, then saw her taking everyones "Last Supper" feast dinner after my order. I almost bought a side order of rice and noodles thats how much she gave me. Terrible management. Most of us go to "express style" Chinese restaurants for a quick meal when we are busy or have short lunch breaks. We count fast service. Panda's "express" depends on having their prepared foods in large bowls on a steam table, ready to serve their customers. Well organized express restaurants are under the watchful eye of an experienced manager who makes sure the dishes are quickly replenished when the serving bowl is about 3/4 empty. However, this Panda Express does no such thing. Instead, they wait until the contents of a bowl is 100% empty before telling the kitchen to make more. This makes the customer wait 10 to 15 minutes or switch to another dish. During busy times, multiple bowls are empty, narrowing the alternative choices to the least popular choices, such as dishes that have sat on the steam table for so long that they have turned into rotten looking garbage. Worse yet, as a serving bowl nears empty, the servers try to stretch the last bits by progressively reducing the serving size until the servings are very stingy. This is very poor management. A much better choice for quick Chinese take-out is "Big Chopsticks," which is just across La Paz street from Panda, sharing the parking lot with the Ralph's supermarket. Unlike Panda Express, Big Chopsticks is run by an Asian family who makes their food fresh to order--so there are no soggy dishes decomposing on a steam table. Nonetheless, their food is ready in about 10 minutes, and they take orders over the phone. And their much larger portions are a bargain compared with Panda Express. Their only down side is that they specialize in take-out, and only have very limited seating. read more
