Panda Express is one of my guilty pleasure food and I decided to get some at the rest stop we were at. I love their orange chicken! It's salty, sweet, and a little spicy. I ordered online and picked my order up through the drive-thru. It would've just made it easier if I just ordered from the drive-thru so keep that in mind. I ordered a bowl which includes one entree and one side. I'm not sure if this was ever an option but you can get two halves of an entree which includes white rice, brown rice, lo mein, or greens. I opted for the greens (kale, broccoli, and cabbage). I also had to get their orange chicken. The quality of the food was typical for Panda Express. It was good but not groundbreaking. read more

Walked in at 10:30 am with no other custom present and was ignored for 5 minutes. Manager kept talking on the phone, waving his finger, mouthing one minute, while all other employees stared at the ground. THE WORST SERVICE EVER. Parking is okay. Seating is okay, but the staff does reserve certain seats for themselves. And they do tend to close off 2/3 of the seating 2 hours before close. The food can be good depending on whose working. Most managers are horrible at this location. Telling workers to give less food. Not make more rice until it's empty. And I even watched a older Asian lady put lids back in the dispenser that were out and dirty. Unfortunately, it's the only one in this area. So flip a coin and maybe you'll get good service. Some of the staff are super friendly, but they normally don't last long as the "old guard" will beat them down or out. I have officially banned this restaurant- no food to eat- pans were empty. Service was awful-l had to ask when more food would be made because l had to go to work soon. The place looks awful.... so depressing and l hate it when they yell at each other from across the room. The ice cream lid was disgusting- just replace it instead of tapping it-l could hardly get it open. GROSS! read more

The place is like a piece of S***. There is no Uber driver around so I have to pick up my Uber order. When I get there, they closed the door and say "only the drive through". I told them I don't have a car and the only thing I need to do is pick my order which is already prepared. So now I need to walk behind a lot cars in the drive through lane and pick the shit. :) read more

I went in on a Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m., the weekend that spring break started and was told they were out of fried rice at the moment! How do you run out of fried rice when it included in almost every dish? I can see if the town was especially busy but come on! Either the manager needs to be replaced or you should just shut down your site and let the other Chinese restaurants that used to be in town open back up. read more

I went there tonight and almost every item was empty. I asked the guy behind the counter if they were going to be making more. He asked me what I wanted and I said mushroom chicken. He called to another employee and told him we needed mushroom chicken, which the other acknowledged. 25 minutes later, I'm still standing there and the cook made 4 other items people asked for after my request and still didn't make mine. In the meantime, the guy who I originally spoke with is waiting on other customers in front of me and never seems to wonder why I'm still standing there. I asked of the cook was going to make it any time soon and the cook proceeds to make yet another item. When I said this is ridiculous, the first guy tells me the manager is sitting in the corner. When I complained to her, she said she was sorry and offered me a soda for my trouble. I told her I didn't even want their damn food anymore and left. Do not patronize this place. This Panda Express is pretty good. I have stopped several times. My deduction of a star is do to about every time I order online something seems to be missing. It happened on several occasions and they are willing to correct the issue. Food is always good and service is sometimes good - depending on the person. Food is pretty consistent. Normally an okay place to eat when you need a fix but this time I found a long hair intertwined within my fried rice. Since I have a buzz cut, it was most certainly not mine unless I have missed that same hair for the last couple of years and it happened to fall out into my food. I was here before but in a Cedar Point stand. The food then was good but I was very disappointed, however having a real Panda Express location was a different experience. Most reviews and talks about this place are iffy (it's fast food Chinese, can you blame em?) Furthermore, my food was amazing! Had the Beijing Beef over Fried rice and mmm yes it was delicious. I threw in some cheese wontons to really test the place. I have. A friend with a family owned Chinese restaurant and I must say this food came damn close. Best of all total was $8.00! I've only had positive experiences here. The food is fresh, hot, delicious and there are many options to choose from. The staff is kind, respectful, efficient, hardworking. If there is a line, it goes quickly. Either way my girlfriend awoke from a dream craving a list of Chinese food. Having only an hour before work, Panda Express became the only viable option. After visiting the online menu, it became evident that options were limited to a minimalistic fast food version of the already Americanized style of Chinese food our society had become accustomed to, so I naturally set my standards & expectations very low in my pursuit of "Orange chicken, 2chicken egg rolls with xtra duck sauce, 2 cheese wontons, & white rice." Amazingly the quality of food was even worse than i could have anticipated. Despite holding precooked food in order to serve cafeteria style, the egg rolls & cheese wontons were burnt beyond crispy. Perhaps they were overcooked by an indifferent staff or maybe the fryer oil itself was old & needed filtering. Either way the standard of quality was insouciant and practically inedible. At least The orange chicken was tolerable, providing enough calories to satiate my appetite before heading of to work, while my fortune cookie provided me with encouraging, yet generic words. In conclusion Panda Express provides a restaurant experience subpar to almost every other fast food restaurant on North Atherton. read more

For serious lovers of Chinese food: The rice was tough and the entrees were cold and too sweet. For everyone else: The people were warm and the semi-self service and checkout were fast. I would ask the founders of the parent company and the owners of this franchise: Would you serve this to your grandfather or grandmother in Shanghai? They'd call it "interesting." This joint is a classic! Perfect place for a family get together. The employees greeted me upon entry. Plenty of healthy options, and even a few for vegans and vegetarians. Obviously this is a chain restaurant and not very authentic, but it is VERY good. Quality food, and fast speed! Also look out for Jason! They ran out of bags last time I came, and he went running up and down the restaurant yelling"Have you seen bags!" Absolutely hysterical. I love this joint, great place to grub! The place was understaffed when I got there so the takeout girl was also on the cash register and cleaning tables. She was obviously used to people who come here and know the menu. She kept baking at me to tell her what I wanted until I got to the point were I had to tell her to stop asking so I could read what they had. She didn't like that but she was also taking orders over her headset so I can understand why she was pushing. Food was average rice was dry. When I was finishing up lunch another worker arrived apparently from a break so maybe I caught the place at a bad time. This is probably not a place I'll visit often. The service is really fast and I love the super greens as a base rather than rice or noodles. But the food is too pricey for what it is and they have no vegetarian entrees. Fortunately I eat seafood but that limits me to honey walnut shrimp every single time... shrimp's an upcharge and they give you a whopping 7 pieces. I'll pass in the future. read more

I have waited years for a Panda Express to come to State College (other than the one on campus) and it has finally happened! First off, no, it's obviously not authentic Asian cuisine, so don't expect it to be or try to compare it to authentic Chinese cuisine. It is what it is: delicious. I have been here quite a few times already and the food has always been fresh and hot. The service was great and even when the line was long they were able to move people through fairly quickly.
