Recently had an offer on the app, discount on chili if minimum order. Online, the app wouldn't accept credit card on file, nor the next one entered, nor the next one. Went to the store. No one around to take order, so we used those big iPad looking things. It would not add the special offer. We wound up paying full price, but not before 2 obnoxious people arrived in line behind us. We only took about 45 seconds to order, but that was to long, those behind us started to complain, at which point an employee magically appeared. Not to help US, but to say to the other guests basically, "go around these slow people, and I will take your order in person". The chili used to be good. Sure, it's made of cut up expired burgers, but when the price recently increased, they added a new ingredient: extra WATER! This stuff was like SOUP! You could drink this (expensive) chili with a straw. Waterin it down makes it go farther. No flavor, a cup of tomato water, a few beans, and expired hamburgers cut up. For what they are charging even for a basic $2 hamburger, (more like $7), I don't really have a reason to return. Maybe the fries & frostys, but now I even suspect those. read more

I was out late running errands, and got just a large french fry and asked if my reusable bottle could be filled with water. The although the fries felt fresh, they had little or no salt and I was rudely declined the possibility to have my bottle filled with water. I'm unsure if this is company policy, but as someone who doesn't eat meat, this has turned me away from ever coming back to any Wendy's again. read more

This location is by far the worst fast food location I've ever been to. They will not take your order inside because only 1 person speaks and can communicate. The others can not. Just a simple lid was the biggest battle I've ever had. Parking is weird and drive threw is not set up good. The location is dirty and not somewhere I could recommend to anyone. read more

I work in the restaurant industry, I never complain and I understand that mistakes happen. But, I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was SO old that I couldn't bite through the sandwich. Many hours it had to sit there to accomplish that. Needless to say, the fries were cold and hard. I waited for 50 minutes for my food, which was just awful. However, I talked to a worker named Addy, and he got everything figured out, and his service was great. He deserves a raise. After the wait we realized our food was not even correct, but Addy figured it out for us. Very nice guy, wish the staff was all as organized as he was. As someone who previously managed fast food I am typically patient. I would say this Wendy's needs better management or more attention from the owners. Please avoid this one in state college even if you like wendy's- service is awfully slow, staff always have attitude, what's worse, food is not even fresh. Even though we knew this, we still went back occasionally until my husband drove through and got breakfast back one day (finally after waiting for 50 mins) and later found someone wrote "red nec" on his receipt. He was polite the whole time and the only thing we can think of is his southern accent. We complained to Wendy's immediately but never heard back from them any more. I guess red neck customers don't deserve their service and discrimination is fine in their company culture. I went only because they were offering a free breakfast sandwich. I was up almost all night, hungry and in anticipation of how great this would be! Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't open--drive thru only--and service was slow. (Enough with this covid crap already!) Anyway, I ordered the croissant egg sandwich with bacon, and I also wanted something like hash browns. But no... No hash browns for you! Just crappy seasoned fries of some sort. And then, when I pull away into a parking spot to enjoy my delicious breakfast, I find that they got my order wrong and gave me sausage instead of bacon! But it gets worse: I get back in line at the drive thru, get my order straightened out, park again and... It was absolutely the worst breakfast sandwich I've ever tasted. Not real, crispy bacon as I expected, but some sort of really bad slice of fatty ham; the whole thing was basically flavorless... the egg was really thin, I detected no hint of Swiss cheese as advertised, and worst of all, it was a completely soggy, greasy mess! The "fries" were nothing to write home about either. As hungry as I was, I couldn't finish more than a third of it... and this is from a guy who will eat the worst basic Chinese takeout any day! Horrible! Disaster in customer service. Drive-thru experience yesterday was infuriating. Repeated order at least 3 times.* We were told the order was $X, but what we actually paid at the window was $Y. No clarification was offered, it was a nominal difference (less than $2 more) so we didn't bother to ask and based on previous experiences here we probably would have just gotten a blank stare in return. A simple explanation would have been nice. Basic customer service 101 stuff. Bag of food was shoved thru the window, no "thank you", not even a "here is your food"... NOTHING. Just silence accompanied by the motion of the bag of food towards the car. For fast food, my other half prefers Wendy's so we subject ourselves to this mess on occasion. TIP: Make sure to check your order, it may not still be 100% correct, but at least you will have the items you paid for. *And NOPE, they did not get the order right. read more

My first experience at this location was a failure. I went to the drive thru about 9pm. I ordered a #6 and had to wait 6 minutes, even though business was slow. I didn't eat anything till I drove a minute or two down the road. The fries were old and at room temp. The other sandwich was rather sloppy and cold. I don't mind waiting for a fresh sandwich to be made (it's 6 minutes to make one). The problem is when they let the rest of the order sit out on the counter and become cold. read more

Inaccurate orders from drive-in window. Unfriendly staff. Burger patties taste great one day, horrid the next. Burgers are a sloppy mess one day, dry the next. They don't change their oil for frying frequently enough. This location has been bad ever since the 90s. Nothing has changed except for the staff: apparently a revolving door hiring process. They should start blaming management for the poor quality and service at this location. When will the owner(s) learn? Get the damn order right the first time, train your employees properly, emphasize friendly service, change your damn oil more often, and watch your fry cook's quality control. read more

Wendy's is one of the best fast food restaurants. But can you guys please stop serving rubbery hockey pucks in your chicken sandwiches? I would give this location a high rating if the service was a bit faster. Each time I've been there for the last year I've waited what seemed like forever. It didn't matter what time of day or whether it was in the drive-thru or inside--I waited, and waited, and waited. It seems there's not enough staff on during busy times. I know that can't be predicted 100% of the time, but you would think there would be more staff on say, when a football game gets out or during lunch time. It also seems the amount of types of food they sell slow them down along with the large amount of equipment located on their front counter. With all of that being said, the food was always hot and fresh tasting. However, my burger was made wrong about half of the time. Overall, if you have time to spare waiting and like your food the way it comes on the menu, then you'll have a good experience since the food is hot and fresh. read more

Fine Dining Without the Dining Listen, when it comes to high-class establishments, I'm the most knowledgable, but this place had me baffled! Being new to the area, this was our first visit to Wendy's; surely named after the head chef's daughter, or wife, or mistress. Looking to entertain our new neighbors, the Bigbys, and having found a sitter for our twin four year olds Meat and Bessemer, we decided on this spot for our weekend night out. Right off the bat, the place gave me a bad taste in my mouth due to the tacky lighting that screamed "We're too cheap to install dimmers." We continued to seat ourselves, which was a plus, because I wanted a booth and my husband Winslow wanted a table so it was win-win... the only saving grace of this "place." We sat at the table for nearly four hours and no one came to take our order, even after persistent screaming by the Bigbys, who apparently have nasty, nasty tempers. We left without eating when the place closed, but everything smelled good and the other customers seemed to be enjoying their experiences... I just don't appreciate being blatantly ignored by the staff. Am willing to try again, but not for awhile; just have to get the bad taste out of my mouth first. I went here today and it took about 20 minutes just to get up to the register. And also the register person has to serve the food and make the beverages too and that takes more time. I think they should just rebuild the Wendy's and make it bigger, plus they need to get another register person and someone serving the food, it would be alot faster, also the fries were alittle bit too salty. read more

I have been to this Wendy's a few times in the past and even when I get one or two things, they somehow manage to get them wrong. But my experience last night was a disaster. We just came from grocery shopping and were going to make dinner, but as we drove by Wendy's I had a calling for their chili. But then we saw that they had an entirely different menu, and new fries, and new applewood smoked bacon.. OMG! So soon enough it was understood we'd be eating Wendy's for dinner instead of salmon and bok choy. Sadly, this seems to be the only form of spontaneity in my life, but I've got to get it somewhere... but looks like I know what I'll be eating tomorrow night for dinner.. ;-( There were no other customer's in line at the drive through, neither in front of or behind us. When we pulled around to the window to make sure three or four times of our order being understood, we relaxed thinking it had been. Apparently verbal confirmation has no bearing on what you will receive. It was as simple as no tomatoes on one burger, but we got three all with tomatoes even though we ordered two. The New Applewood smoked bacon was good, but I'm not sure it it was worth the extra buck they will charge you to add it to your dollar burger. The new cut fries with sea salt are definitely an improvement over their previous, which were by far the worst of the fast food chains, but they still aren't as good as McDonald's. My chili was halfway filled, the frosty melted by the time we got it. But if I am to do you any favor, it would be to warn you against wasting $6 on a salad. They look great in the picture, but mine appeared to have been dropped by the appearance of a section of chopped tomato slivers and then some on the other side... an area of blue cheese speckles and then some misplaced. But overall, this has to be the smallest salad I have ever, and I mean ever, gotten at a lower end chain. I've been eating Wendy's salads since they came out 11 years ago. This was by far the most unappetizing I've ever had-- and this one even has the new warm chicken as opposed to the cold. We visited on a Friday night thinking we could get a quick meal, but waited quite a long time in a slow-moving line at the counter. Unquestionably the worst Wendy's we've ever visited, and very possibly the worst fast food restaurant experience we've encountered in the U.S. That's saying a lot. Appallingly, mind-numbingly, uninaginably poor customer service. Just one example, on most recent (April 2016) visit: Cashier lied to our face about there being no upcharge on a deluxe drink. Once ordered, upcharge was immediately added, and smirking cashier promptly denied saying precisely what she just said, literally seconds before. Called female manger over, suggesting there had been a misunderstanding. Instead, rude, argumentative manager defended cashier, saying, "there's ALWAYS an upcharge," and "so, I guess you'll be wanting your dollar back?" (Yes. Yes, we will, actually.) Like being in a bizarre comedy sketch, except this was real, and entirely unfunny. On second thought, more like being in a nightmarish Franz Kafka novel than a bad comedy sketch. Absolutely no idea how this place stays in business. Whoever controls Wendy's franchise contacts in this region should tear up this disgraceful franchisee's contract immediately, and pull their shingle. read more
