When I saw that this would be my 100th Yelp review, I knew that it had to be somewhere special, and when I saw that Panda Hut had opened, I knew that this would be the place. I used to eat here back in the dark ages, when it was a Jack in the Box. This was *way* pre-2016. The only person who had a camera phone at the time was Data from the Goonies. At a certain point, in the early '90s, a few kids died from eating tainted beef from Jack in the Box. Tacos dropped down to three for a dollar--a price unimaginable in Joe Brandon's America. We started eating there even more often, and believe it or not, I never suffered so much as an upset stomach. The Lord meant for me to eat here. I was surprised and perhaps a bit concerned to see that the interior of this place is nearly indistinguishable from how it looked 30-plus years ago, as if it had somehow been preserved in amber like that mosquito in Jurassic Park--this despite the fact that it sat boarded up for years. I'm surprised a squirrel or something didn't get in there. Based on the name, I assumed that this was a knockoff version of Panda Express, and I was hoping that it was full-on copyright infringement, like McDowell's in the movie Coming to America, with only slight differences in the names of menu items, e.g. Citrus Chicken instead of Express' signature Orange Chicken; Mighty Greens instead of Super Greens. Instead, this place could more accurately be described as a version of that Dollar Chinese place that used to be down the street, but with a more conventional pricing structure. (If that place still existed, they'd have to change the name to Two Dollar Chinese, amirite?) Rather than paying a dollar per scoop of various warmed over mall food court-style Chinese entrees, you can get combos with one, two or three of them and a side of your choice, either noodles or rice. I asked the Yung Guy who was working there if he had any recommendations. He asked me if I liked spicy food (this must be an issue there). I explained to him that I'm a grown man on the wrong side of 40 with the capacity for discernment, so... uh, yes. He recommended the Chef's Special Spicy Chicken and even let me try it, as if we were at a 31 Flavors. It was delicious, and I noticed it looked fresh and abundant, like maybe they'd just brought out a pan. Which brings me to an issue you're likely to have with this place, especially if you dine in. This stuff just sits under heat lamps and may or may not be fresh. Everything I had was surprisingly good for what it was, but only the entree was truly fresh, and even that may have been a lucky coincidence. None of it was that old, but why would I want anything at all that wasn't still alive when I walked in the door? This is a Chinese restaurant, not a McDonald's.

This place is new and has a lot of things to work on. It's really nice on the inside and spacious. The service was really good as well but the food was bad for me. To me reminds me of a lower Panda Express I got the two entree plate with crab Rangoon and eegroll. The rice - was super mushy and tasted really salty I got the orange chicken and General Tso chicken but when I ate it I couldn't tell the difference. They tasted the same to me. The Rangoons and eggroll I didn't like at all. Maybe I'll come back in a couple months or year to see if they improved.

I don't want to hate on a local business, after trying three of their entrees, I was not encouraged to come back and eat more. I got their noodles, orange chicken and general tso's. I was so so hungry and everything looked so good. I had one bite of everything and instantly got disappointed. I had seen so many influencers describing how delicious the entrees were so maybe I had really high expectations. The noodles were oily and flavorless and the chicken was overly saucy, tender, and tangy but that's it. I don't think I'll come back. The restaurant is in an older restaurant so it looks dull and unattractive inside but it did look relatively clean. I picked up my order so I can't say much about the service.

They are a local and family owned business offering fast casual Chinese food that you can dine in, take out, drive-thru and order through multiple food delivery apps. Their menu features multiple staples such as General Tso's and Kungpao Chicken but also chef's specialties as well. I was so excited because everything looked delicious. They got good deals for the combos. I got 2 entrees and a side for $10.99. They did give generous portion because look at this big plate. FYI, For the side you can also do half noodles and half rice. In addition, to the combo, I had to try some appetizers as well. Out of the entrees I tried today, my favorite would be the General Tso's chicken and the Chef's specialty spicy beef. They definitely packed some flavors and were seasoned just right for my taste. The beef was especially tender from the Chinese velveting method. The appetizers were also a hit for me. The crab Rangoon was crispy and loaded with creamy filling and the veggie rolls were light and flaky. Overall, I enjoyed my meal a lot and this might be my go-to spot for comfort food. I highly recommend pulling up to their drive-thru next time you are in the area.

New Chinese restaurant at Ashby and Page. Used to be Jack in the Box. Quick Service restaurant doing it right. My take out combo meal, Sweet and Sour Chicken with Noodles added Crab Ragoon was delicious. See pic. Plenty of seating. Very clean. Extremely helpful staff.

It's mainly breading on the orange chicken. Not much meat on any of the pieces.

I was anticipating this place to be much better than it was. I ordered in the drive through and the employee taking the order in the window was inattentive (I sat there for long time before they looked over) The price is okay but the flavor does not make up for the meal while there are other/better options in the area. The chicken is all breading and no meat and the pepper steak hardly comes with beef, it is frustrating to look past that considering they had just opened. The positive is i actually liked the flavor of the noodles.

I walked not knowing what to expect. This restaurant recently open. I remember when it was Jack in the Boix. Now it has Asian decor. I like what they have done with the place. The staff was busy. They took our orders. They were friendly. I still couldn't get over the changes they made as I used to work at that location many years ago. The food was delicious. They modeled this restaurant after Panda Express. You get to choose 2 proteins withe rice or noodles. I chose noodles.

Very good Chinese food, I definitely will come back again! Best black pepper chicken!

The inside has a good amount of seating and a separate area for shabu shabu, so it's well organized. We ordered a ton of dishes to share and everything came out so fast. I was surprised by how fast and friendly the staff was. The jjajangmyeon is vegetarian and this was very similar but just slightly lighter than the Korean one. Still so delicious. The fried tofu is an absolute must order. I don't know how they got it that crispy and crunchy, but it was perfectly flavored too. The grilled tofu was also really good and flavorful. The noodles were great, and we also got the cabbage dish which was a nice balance to some of the heavier, oilier dishes. They offer tea for the table only $1 per person. Overall just a really great experience. It's a bit out of the way and not really surrounded by a lot of other things to do nearby, but worth the trip. Would definitely recommend!

I've had their 3 cup chicken, fried pork chop, other street snacks, braised beef noodle soup. Our recent orders: Stirfry basil with beef (17.99): our favorite Chili's stirfry chicken (14.99): it was better the more you had it, but it was just strange that the chicken was coated in sauce so it didn't make it quite crispy Five spices tofu (13.99): this was pretty good. It's perfectly crispy on the outside and the dipping sauce was not too bad. Weekday visits are pretty chill but weekend dinner time gets busy, just something to plan around. Also a heads up on parking, the lot isn't very big so when it's packed it can be tough to find a spot. Would recommend carpooling if you can. I have a pretty low spice tolerance but there are still so many delicious dishes to choose from if you look around the menu. The soups are so hearty and comforting. Insider tip: the tofu egg dish is not on the menu but ask for it anyway. It is so worth it and the best way I can describe it is like eating a savory cloud puff. So unique and so good. The service is always super efficient, food comes out fast, and the staff will get you in and out. Every single dish I've had has been full of flavor and nothing has missed yet. It was excellent and had just the right amount of heat. I also enjoyed the smoky ham fried rice, although it lacked the distinct smoky aroma I was expecting. Some of the other dishes didn't quite land for me. The fish soup wasn't my favorite, and the beef noodle soup wasn't especially memorable. The cumin lamb, however, was better than expected and ended up being one of the stronger dishes we ordered. That said, the service was friendly, the portions were generous, and there are plenty of interesting options on the menu. I'd definitely come back to try some different dishes next time.

Ordering was easy, just scan the QR code and choose from the menu. We got a few skewers and some main dishes, I was excited to see a few nostalgic childhood favorites like stir-fried tomato and egg, braised beef with potato, and sweet and sour pork ribs! The sweet & sour ribs were super delicious, they tasted just like how I remembered! That said, the portion size was a bit disappointing. For $19.99, there were maybe 8 or 9 pieces of small ribs, which felt a little overpriced. The tomato and egg dish was flavorful and perfect with rice, the braised beef was just okay, the meat was a bit on the chewier side. The skewers were fine too, nothing to write home about. We also got the Sichuan cold noodle, which I do not recommend, it was overloaded with numbing spice and the noodles were soggy. Overall, it was a decent experience with a handful of dishes I enjoyed! I'd probably come here for takeout pretty often if I lived in St. Louis.

He walked us through the menu, explained everything clearly, and gave spot-on recommendations. You can tell he really cares about the experience. Food: 8/10 It's kind of a hotpot concept, but on a smaller, more personal scale. Each noodle bowl came beautifully presented, with a boiling broth so you can cook your veggies and toppings yourself, plus a separate bowl of rice noodles. We ordered the tomato broth base (Lin's recommendation) and the mushroom broth. Both were great, but the tomato broth was WOW. I usually always get tomato broth for hotpot, and this one was by far the most flavorful I've had. There are different meat options and add-ons to choose from. We went with beef brisket this time, but I'll definitely try something different next visit. Portions were big for me, so I had leftovers to take home. I also had the fried popcorn chicken appetizer and it was juicy and flavorful too. Ambiance: The shop was clean and well-kept, and you can tell the staff puts in effort to maintain it. We wanted to order two other food items on the menu but they said they do not have it. My boyfriend original flavor rice noodle soup with beef slices came out first. Then five more minutes my broth and side ingredients came. I did not get any rice noodle so we asked for the rice noodle which they brought. Then five more minutes my kid chicken fried rice came. I was waiting for her to get food before I mixed the ingredients I got in my broth. That was when we realized that I did not get the beef slices. We told the waitress who said she will check with the kitchen. She did not come back so I ate half the noodle soup without the beef slices that I ordered and am done. The manager - I assume make her round and we told her to make sure that they did not charge for the meat to my noodle since we never got it and the waitress did not come back to update us after she said she will check with the kitchen.
