So my mom and I came for Brunch - I've been meaning to get her here to try dinner BUT brunch is good enough. Same beautiful atmosphere. The brunch menu was fantastic, though seemed a little expensive. My mom got an omelette and I got the monte cristo sandwhich. Mine was fantastic, and it was a LOT of food - I brought the leftovers home for my husband and he ate the whole thing, he said it was an incredible sandwich. My mom did ask for no tomatoes on her omelette...and when they didn't make it correctly I urged her to ask for them to fix it because neither her or my dad eat them so the whole omelette would have gone to waste. They were quick to take it back but then it took another 20 minutes for them to make a new omelette so we were pretty much done with our meal by the time she had the main part of her meal. That was my only complaint was that they didn't prioritize fixing her meal, my only assumption was she got put back in the kitchen que which they messed up her food so it should have been prioritized BUT c'est la vie. Overall, a good meal. I'm not sure I could justify this brunch on a regular basis but service is good and food is good.

Cool place with fun chalk board menu. Went for happy hour. Had some wine specials (they have white red or bubbles). One each thats on special. Server was attentive & very helpful with allergies in the party. We ordered chips, squeaky cheese & brussel sprouts. Food was ok. Nothing special. Nice wine selection & some good cocktails.

We went here on a Friday at 5 PM for happy hour. I love that they have happy hour every day until 6 pm! There were some great happy hour deals, including $7 house wine and old fashion. The food was delicious, we got the bacon jam burger with broccoli as the side and the pulled pork gnocchi. Both were unique and delicious. Service was good and so was the wine. Highly recommend!

Ryan was our server! Upon walking in , I had reservations and staff made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Seating was quick. Ryan was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Well lit building. Seating is close to the next party , that's the only con I have. No privacy. My friend and I both ordered an rose drink that was dry-fruity and once explained to Ryan that we didn't like it he immediately found a solution of ice and sprite and muah we were back smiling again, also ordered were beignets and they were yummy! Fresh and fluffy. It comes with rum sauce that is delicious! I will definitely come back for food and drinks for their happy hour.

This is my second time at Louie's; I don't really remember what I ordered during my first encounter, but I know I sent something back and I think it was the brussel sprouts. ANYWAY, I do know I came here alone both times and both times the customer service was great. Rudd was my server this time; he was very pleasant, patient and helpful. He checked on me periodically and helped me decide on an entrée. I started with a glass of Prosecco. It was perfectly bubbly. I ended up getting Emily's harvest salad. It was SO good. I love goat cheese and it was perfect in the salad. The bacon bits were a perfect accompaniment! The only bad thing was that my chicken was not seasoned well at all, and it was overcooked. There was 1 or 2 pesky gnats flying around but it's gnat season unfortunately, not the restaurants fault. I will definitely be back. I want to come back and try dinner and brunch.

[July 2025] Located in Downtown Clayton, parking can be found on the street or nearby garages. I was able to find a close spot on a random Friday night. During my visit, it did take some time for some staff to come up front to notice me standing there waiting to be seated. I'd been here before but was alone this time. The place is made like a date night but suitable for all audiences. With brick accent walls and upholstered booths, the one thing that always stands out to me is the wine bottle chandelier and engraved wooden tables. They do have non-alcoholic options that cost $2-$3 less than their spirit drinks. I started out with a Summer Strawberry Mint Sangria. It was very delicious and my waiter more than made up for my hostess experience. I ordered crab tostadas which were good overall but were a bit too heavy on the red onions. They also have a daily happy hour from 3pm-6pm. I would probably return and try some more menu items. From the looks of it, they do change their menu options from time to time. Travel Note: This is a chain with locations in Des Moines and Overland Park as well!

We came for happy hour but ended up ordering from the regular menu. Great spot in downtown Clayton for a glass of wine, catching up with friends. Would stop by again when in the area

Came across this place looking up happy hours in Clayton for a meeting after work. One of the main reasons I'm giving them five stars is because even though they were booked with reservations, they still made it work with my Party as long as we agreed to be out within a two hour timeframe before the next large party came in. Any business owner knows this is risky because things can go over, but they accommodated us and we accommodated them so I commend them for that especially with it being so last minute. Now, as far as the ambience of the place, it was very wine cellar type of decor, which was great. It goes perfectly with the name of the restaurant. They had bar seating options, table options, as well as booth table combination, which I think it's always important to have multiple seating types. They served our party pretty fast and all the drinks and appetizers were enjoyed. We did not try regular menu items. We shared appetizers only but all the ones that we did share, we were impressed and everybody agreed that they would come back again. Not only were the appetizers different than typical stuff you could get around, they were also very flavorful so I was thankful for that.

Louies Wine Dive and Kitchen was a cute little spot located in Clayton, the host that greeted us upon entering was nice and friendly, my waiter Ryan was a ball of fun he was great at telling us what was a popular drink to order on such a hot day which was a Rose', it was a dry wine and I'm not a fan of dry wine and when Ryan asked how was it and i said its okay he recommended adding a splash of sprite which made the wine much better, I had other dinner plans so instead of ordering food I ordered a dessert of beignets with rum sauce and they did not disappoint. I've never had a beignet before but the host did tell me that they are very similar to the ones that you can get in New Orleans. If ever in the area again I would go back to this restaurant for a bite to eat and the beignets again.

Really enjoyed the Harvest Salad (it was huge!) and I was impressed with the service from the waiter and quickly the food came. Great brunch spot if you're in the area.

The food was great, the staff stayed present and was friendly. We went for Mother's Day and were expecting to wait and we were seated right away. The vibe was intimate and small. We will be back!

    Peach cobbler and beignets
    Erika L.

Came here for dessert and loved the peach cobbler and the beignets, so so tasty! However, the best part about this place is the service and the friendliness of the staff- from the host to our server and other workers, everyone stopped to make small talk with us, which makes or breaks your experience here! The ambience is also warm and cozy which is so nice!

Clayton was busy, so street parking was hard to find. Once seated, we were greeted with friendly service and were brought water. I ordered a ginger beer with cranberry juice added to it for a refreshing mocktail. We ordered the Squeaky Cheese to start, the golden-brown cheese curds were gooey and had the perfect crunch. They were served with marinara and a serrano dill aioli. The aioli had just the right amount of spice, complementing the dill flavor. The marinara was saucy and also good. I ordered the Bacon Jam Burger with fries. The burger was juicy, sweet, and had a nice crunch. The bacon jam was subtle, but it enhanced the overall flavor. My only complaint was that the bottom bun came out a bit soggy causing the burger to lose structure as I ate it. The fries were thin and crunchy! I had a lovely experience and would like to come back to try a cocktail!

After we paid (and tipped 30%), we were abruptly told by the hostess to leave the table and move outside to finish the drinks we had just ordered. We awkwardly gathered our belongings without protest and were rushed outside unassisted, with the other patrons staring at us. As we exited, we heard the server reappear and graciously apologize to the waiting party, offering them champagne. The table outside was set when we arrived but then actively cleared by the busser after we sat down. No one came back to check in. We felt unwelcome and quickly left. It was unnecessarily uncomfortable and put a damper on what was supposed to be a celebratory meal. This was a service failure. I understand the need to turn tables over quickly, but we should have been given at least 5 minutes notice, especially when the kitchen is running behind. Alternatively, the drinks could have been taken off the bill and we could have left outright. Even help moving or any involvement from our server or the manager would have been appreciated, but they were not present. Having had many great experiences at Vicia, I expected more from the take root hospitality group. We'll give Vicia another chance, but I'll be cautious about trying one of their sister restaurants again With the impending closure, this one may have already given up.

I enjoyed a glass of their current "by the glass" Chardonnay, and my boyfriend got a Yeungling (poured table-side). I got my scallops, as planned, which certainly did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly, fresh and delicious. The wilted romaine seemed odd at first but totally rounded out the potato mash at the base, with the absolute flavor-bomb of the shiitakes. Highly recommend this dish any day! My boyfriend opted for the NY Strip; we both agreed it was one of the best steaks we'd ever had; seasoned perfectly and cooked masterfully. There was a slight mishap whereby a food runner gave him a tasting portion of the strip (likely meant for another table); we first didn't realize and were very disappointed with the size. However, without a word from us, the chef came out and personally explained, apologized, and corrected--I didn't snap a photo of the full portion when it came out, but it was perfect and much more what we expected. That brings me to the service, which was spectacular. Several staff members gave us a personal touch and they all seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. The space is beautiful and intimate. It was moderately busy and still quiet. The atmosphere feels upscale, but not pretentious or unapproachable. This place was on my radar for a long time, and I sure wish I'd gone long ago.
