These guys are fine for the price. I was told the movers would arrive from 9-10, but they came at 10:30. We started off on the wrong foot. I suspect the manager of the movers probably yelled at them for being late. Then, the movers got lost on the way to my place. This is important because of the double drive time charge. Then, when we were checking out, the lead mover seemed mad I wanted to check their truck to make sure all my belongings were out. Thank goodness I checked because they left my mirror in the truck!! They tried to be nice, but my movers and I just didn't get along. read more

Third time customer at Panda Movers. The first two times with the old movers were great and they were willing to help with whatever we needed. But the new moving crew was clearly in a rush to finish moving and get to their next customer. The new crew also kept saying they didn't work for Panda movers (third party) so they didn't actually care to do a thorough job of moving our furniture. Instead they wanted to leave as soon as possible(a whole hour before they were supposed to). When asked why the service was poorer since the first two times we needed them, the crew literally said, "We don't work for Panda Movers and were hired as a third party". How is that fair to the customer that was expecting the same level of service. They said, "we would do a better job if you hired us from our own company". read more

I am extremely disappointed with how my move turned out. I had high hopes due to the great reviews and the price but a lot of my items were damaged in the move and when I pointed it out to the movers they just started moving slower. Items like my couch and my tv, my most expensive items were damaged and we only traveled a mile down the road. Although the men were nice I am extremely disappointed with the carelessness.! They will not return my calls now 3 months later! Look them up on the Better Business Bureau website, they don't exist! Do yourself a favor and DONT move with this illegitimate business! read more

I am a recurring Yelp visitor as I use the reviews to make informed decisions before I invest in a service. I originally chose this place due to the good reviews and the reasonable price quoted to me by John M(employee). However, I urge you to stay away from this place as as they do not value customers and do not operate with integrity and other key business values. 1. Double Drive Time was not explained to me in the way they detailed what the policy actually is in an email sent to me after the fact. I will post it in its entirety here so you can make an informed decision.(added additional money on top of rate fee) 2. The workers arrived late to my start destination, over 30 min late (time stamp proof). I was their 1st appointment for the day and the driver actually said out of his mouth "We're late because I had to catch the bus to work". (unacceptable, not the problem of the customer) 3. Took 3 men 1hr and 47min to load my 1 bedroom apartment. They moved things twice, as in manually grab boxes, piled them, then moved them to the truck. (adds time which means money) All my items were preboxed and broken down ready to be moved, no break down or boxing required. 4. When calling to request to speak to a manager, they are always "unavailable" and unresponsive to customers concerns (specifically Hannah W. that can be seen responding to other customers reviews below) 5. This business cannot be found within Washington DC or Maryland business licensure registries or on site with the Better Business Bureau. 6. Upon calling the business to express issues, service center hung up on me multiple times, continues to do so to this day. (these are just the main issues, trust me my move was hell with this company) I have been calling this business for 2 weeks now to express my grievences with a manager or owner but instead have been continually disrespected by their employees, hung up on, and disregarded. Poor business policies and practices are what you will deal with when choosing to do business with them. I have never done a negative review. I am usually a person who simply just chooses never to use the service again. However after everything that has happened to me I signed up to be a reviewer today (smh). This is the DDT policy that was sent to me after my move (but not present on the website or anywhere else) to help you better understand: Double Drive Time (DDT) is a state regulation designed to protect consumers from excessive fuel charges. In the past, the cost of gasoline used to be calculated 'portal to portal', or the distance from the mover's warehouse to the customer's site and back again. The problem with that method was that unscrupulous moving companies were able to misrepresent the distance from their warehouse to the site, especially if detours due to construction or congestion were applied, and customers would have no real way of contesting fuel charges. In an effort to resolve this issue, state regulators implemented the Double Drive Time rule. The regulation states that 'in computing charges (for gasoline) ... the time used shall be the total of loading, unloading and double the driving time from the customer's point of origin to the customer's point of destination'. While this may not be an exact representation of time and gasoline taken for the moving company to travel from their site to your sites and back again, it is a time and distance calculation that the customer can more accurately verify. It also provides some sort of compensation to the moving company for the total amount of gasoline used during a move. Please note, however, that although the DDT regulation can legally be applied to each and every move, our company only applies this charge on moves of 15 miles or more. I hate moving. I'd rather lay in a mound of fire ants. So the fact that I'm giving Panda Movers 5 stars and doing it a month after the fact should tell you how impressive DJ, GoGa, and Zaid were. In spite of my 2 hours late arrival for our appointment time because of traffic on one of the most hot and humid days of the summer (they'd literally been waiting for me in their truck the whole time outside of my storage unit), these guys were friendly, professional, careful, deliberate, efficient, and conscientious in the way that they unloaded the truck and moved my things. I could probably throw in about 10 more adjectives. So not only was I late, but my move also became a bit complicated. For that reason, after a couple of hours of work that took us past my original appointment window, I paid them, sent them on their way and told them my friend and I would finish up ourselves. As they were loading up their stuff to head out, DJ came over and said, "We'd like to help you finish". That's some serious going above and beyond. My move still sucked, as most moves do, but I'm not exaggerating when I say that the portion that Panda Movers helped with was actually pleasant. Thank you, DJ, GoGa, and Zaid. Satisfied withy the effectiveness and rich experience of the crew from this moving company. They made me relieved. The only thing I had to do was to show the place where my stuff would be placed. Guys managed to provide all necessary information on my move. Joe and David were true super heroes and exceeded all my expectations. Joe had all necessary tools for taking down and for disassembling the king size bed and putting it back together at my new place. I can not locate a word to discribe how grateful I am to this wonderful moving company. Really hardworking staff and is 100% favorable with their customers and fulfill all the transferring needs. The men we worked with are efficient/trustworthy/respectful (what else?), and managed to make such an environment that's quite convinient for any customer. I have got quite successful with these movers and want to urge their moving company. Our 3 bedroom house was relocated last minute, and they managed to prepared everything for the move we wanted at avery brief notice. Our movers worked super fast being really friendly and courteous. They did not add use any hidden costs or additional fees, packaged the private things nicely and wrapped the most high-priced furniture really attentively. They actually did their best so that everything was delivered safely and quickly to the new position. So, their fair and successful work extremely impressed me. Superb!I worked with these movers once I needed to go to another location. They came on time, packaged everything efficiently and in a professional way, and were fast. Including one stop at our storage facility and 2 hour drive time, the entire moving procedure was done in 6 hrs with a price of five hundredcash.
