I loved coming here but will not be returning because I found out that they've been sneaky about billing, with the final processed transactions several dollars more than the amount I agreed to pay. Located on Wilmington Island in the Kroger shopping center, they've established themselves by serving reasonably priced American-Chinese dishes made with consistently fresh ingredients. The hot and sour soup is delicious. The egg drop soup, shrimp with broccoli, the tofu dishes, the luncheon specials, all good. They don't deliver, and don't speak English very well, but don't vary in their quality. Is it the highest-end Chinese food you've ever eaten? No. Is it the best Chinese food on the islands? Yes. Best steamed dumplings in Savannah! Food is always quick and delicious. It's also conveniently located next to a RedBox, which makes a chill movie night super easy to coordinate. The restaurant doesn't look like much, but the staff is super nice and it's one of the best Chinese joints in Savannah. Hold the presses we have a competitor. Chef Wan vs Panda. Today I walked out w three pork egg rolls just to give them a try. What a pleasant surprise a nice filling of vegetables w barbecue pork. Wrapper crunchy and not oily filling flavorful. So again decided to get dinner. An order of Mu Shu pork it comes w plume sauce and pancakes. The flavor was sweet in a light sauce. Some place the pancakes are hard to handle but not these. Second entree was Shrimp and vegetables but instead w garlic sauce. The Shrimp was cleaned, plump and abundant, the sauce lack a garlicky flavor but still unusually good. I don't understand why local restaurants are so stingy w rice but both entrees came w Rice -thank you. On the wall is a sign for fried donuts 10 for 3.50, I couldn't resist. I was cutting through the parking lot to get our umpteenth rotisserie chicken from Kroger when I passed by Panda. I put it in reverse. Can't eat another rotisserie chicken anyway. A kid about 10 or 12 took my order by circling items directly on one of the stack of menus in front of him. Efficient as hell. I ordered Chicken (yeah, wasn't bold enough) w/Szechuan Style and ordered Chicken and Broccoli for the wife. For me, I need more Szechuan Style than what I tasted. I should feel heat on my tongue. Hardly. The wife's Chicken and Broccoli was serviceable but really with a 2:1 broccoli to chicken ratio, it should be listed as Broccoli and Chicken. I learned that online ordering is available. Now that's helpful. If you are eating in, you will have a steady stream of slightly disoriented men, like me, hanging around the smallish dining area waiting for their family's take-out orders. We have several Chinese take out choices here on the Island., I will never go to Panda, the restaurant isn't clean and the food is awful. We eat Chinese at least once a week and if my normal restaurant is closed I would rather eat a Chinese frozen dinner. I'm not sure that they use good ingredients to start with. Everything is loaded with MSG. I did order from them once and when I got home and opened the container I was greeted by a roach in the box. I called to complain and we told that it was impossible and I just wanted free food. I took the food back, didn't ask for a refund and vowed to never eat there again. read more

First of all, this restaurant is a little bit hard to find for non-locals, tucked away in the Kroger shopping center. Secondly, the ambiance is absolutely abysmal. It's obviously a take-out place. We were the first customers in the store on a Sunday. The tables were all sticky and there were greasy fingerprints on the glass surfaces and drinks cooler. Cleanliness and pleasing appearance are obviously not high priorities for this restaurant. We placed our orders and the food came out relatively quickly. I had the fried rice with mine, which had an odd aftertaste. My partner had the steamed rice and he thought it had a flavor like rice pudding. The rest of the food was passable. This was my first visit and I really wanted a good Wonton soup. The broth was flavorless and the dumpling were chewy and undercooked. The beef and broccoli went into the trash after a few bites, not mine. Staying on Tybee we opted for takeout and a redbox. Panda was conveniently located by the Kroger and based on Yelp had 3.5 stars. So we gave it a go, regretfully. I think I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to Asian food but not when it comes to freshness. The vegetables were NOT fresh. The broccoli and snow peas had long lost their bright green color and due to the fact we waited 5 minutes for our food I know they weren't overcooked. The pork was dry also lending me to feel as if the whole dish had simply been reheated. Maybe the actual cook was off for the night. read more

Fried rice was a box of barely fried rice, more like steamed, with a few slivers of onion. Real fried rice like you find at most Chinese restaurants includes carrots, peas, eggs, and is fried. At least they could get this correct. Usually portions are decent. read more
