This is a very small hole in the wall type place tucked away in what looks like run down building. You find the door in the back and enter. The store offers shave ice, cream pops, and non-diary pops of different flavors. I had an orange cream pop and it had very little flavor. There's not much to say, it was flavorless. The wife had a mango cream pop and hers had more flavor. The star of the show was the shave ice, which was outstanding. The little one had an orange and root beer mix and it was delicious. Such strong flavors of orange and root beer. The wife does not even like shave ice and she liked it. The 4 stars are for the shave ice. I did not think much of the cream pops. read more

I love this place!!! Every paleta has a fresh, perfect flavor. Hard to believe, but on sporadic visits over several years I'm always impressed. Non-dairy options like jaboticaba are like a popsicle, creamy ones like chocolate peanut butter are just that. We stumbled upon this storefront while walking around Liliuokalani Gardens. We came right as they opened and the aunties running the store were very welcoming (and helpful; they cut open the wrapper for us so we wouldn't have trouble with it sticking to the paleta). Horchata chia paleta was incredibly creamy and the chia seeds added a nice texture. The flavor was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet or icy. We're very surprised at the lack of social media coverage & reviews. We hope this place gains more traction (at least on the internet) because they deserve all the business. My partner and I were incredibly sad to not be able to bring some back home with us to Oahu. This is a place we'd absolutely re-visit and recommend to others. read more

This place was DELICIOUS and made our visit to Hilo. We tried the soursop, the OMG (orange, mango, guava), and got the lilikoi and the guava on ice to bring home (can't wait to try those!) Heard about this wonderful place in Hilo from friends of friends and tried it out this morning. It was raining in Hilo, so no an ideal popsicle day, but the Lilikoi-cream was delicious. As was a scoop of coffee ice cream my wife ordered. This place is small and has all of the charm of authentic 40's ice cream parlor. Which does not move it up to haute cuisine. The prices are very reasonable, too. All they need is an old nickel a play jukebox. Conveniently situated in the ice plant it is surrounded by beautiful gardens for strolling on a sunnier day. read more

It's so rare to find a place that has so many natural fruit favors based popsicle ice creams (paletas). We tried the lychee cream (dairy based), the guava (non dairy) and the spicy mango (non dairy). Each of them were phenomenal. We wish we could have tried a few more but we were just spending 1 day in Hilo! The ladies make these in house and are super nice and helpful. They mentioned that they had 50 flavors prior to the pandemic and had to scale down since then. The bar style seating is a nice twist! read more

Pandamonia's Paletas was highlight of the trip for sure! Popsicle heaven, like a Kid in a popsicle shop. I've never seen so many flavors, and easily the best tasting and texture of popsicles I've ever had. We had 3, coconut (haupia), mango cream, and horchata (with chia and rice), all were great. All made by hand right there in their shop, and nearly every flavor is made from whole fresh fruits and local ingredients. Ask to see how they're made and you'll truly appreciate the time effort and passion that goes into each one. To think, I stumbled across this on a morning run, otherwise I never would have found this gem! Mahalo to the friendly guy who makes them with his buddy (starts with a M and I would butcher the spelling if I tried!) who let us hang out in the AC, and helped explain each of the interesting fruits and flavors we weren't familiar with. These guys are doing it so right, and I hope they get some crazy exposure and success on the island and beyond! Check it out! read more

My "Aunty" Kay brought some lychee paletas over for my mom and I to try. Wow! We loved them! They were very sweet, but we thought they tasted wonderful. The lychee paletas had pieces of fresh fruit in them. They were heavenly! My mom and I loved them so much that we wanted to share our "discovery" with our friends. We went there today and bought 36 paletas as gifts for friends. Pandamonia's Paleta Palace has paletas with and without dairy. The left side of the case contains dairy, and the right does not. (I only took a photo of the left/dairy side of the case.) There is a large selection of flavors. The current seasonal flavors are lychee and mango. Another popular flavor that is not seasonal is the passion fruit (lilikoi). The woman there, Lianne, was very friendly, warm, and kind. We had a wonderful conversation with her. Lianne packed the individually-wrapped paletas in Ziplock bags with ice for me. That was a very considerate touch. Pandamonia's Paleta Palace is located at the ground level of the Alii Ice Plant. At first I went up the stairs to what looked like a window, but it was actually at ground level on the right side with tables and chairs outside. There is a door to enter and order. Inside is small but charming, like an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. They also serve ice cream, but I did not look at the ice cream flavors. I was too focused on the paletas. I'm sure the ice cream is wonderful, too! I highly recommend Pandamonia's Paleta Palace for paletas or ice cream! What a hidden gem!!! read more

One of the highlights of visiting Hilo. It's near the Japanese Gardens, and inside they have AC. There are over 30 flavors, and bars cost $1.50 each. Service is friendly if you buy several bars to take home they'll give you a little ice. I tried Lime avocado and I really liked it, the bar was not too sweet, and had a very bright fruit taste. note: Review score based on price, service, and variety. read more

We were gawking at the long list of mouthwatering flavors when the owner invited us to come inside and check out the REST of the flavors!
