The food is good, but the service is awful, especially the blonde hostess/manager. She is very unfriendly and snooty.

I love love love this diner. They are always packed, but for a good reason. Everyone swears by the vincentown diner, mainly because they were on Diners Drive in's and Dives, but Pandora has them beat by a long shot. First of all, it's an actual diner. The menu is massive, the coffee is great, and the service, no matter how busy is always friendly. They have wonderful breakfast. I usually go with the veggie egg white omelette with a side of turkey sausage. My husband always goes with the steak and eggs (amazing) or the corned beef hash and eggs. Lunch and dinner are also great. Their crab cake is to die for. It's huge, but you will end up eating the whole thing trust me. If your looking for something sweet, their tapioca pudding is off the hook. Ask the waitress to put some cinnamon and whipped cream on it for you! Out of all of the diners in this area, Pandora is the best. I'm talking best of the best. There's been times where I had kinda rude waitresses, but I usually never saw them again. It's one of those places where the soups are handmade, the dinner bread is baked that day, and cleanliness is on the ball. I just adore the music that they play. It's 1950s and older. Music that I've fallen in love with since my addiction to the fallout video games. This is one spot I would not mind coming over and over, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ambience here is very calming, the staff is very friendly. We had been welcomed from the moment we set our foot in the diner. Our waitress Beth repeated the soup selection at least five times without losing her smile on her face. Because of military we did/do travel a lot and always look for the best and the most comfortable dining for our family of five. This place is one spot I would recommend without hesitation. Ok, here's the deal. Good soups, but my split pea should have had bread on side, not croutons on top. Potato Leek gave us foodgasms! Out of this world! Sandwiches are good but bf and I had some open face roast beef sandwiches that were dry. Needed au jus, or gravy or more cheese or something, yet very tasty surprisingly. I used ketchup. Mom's broiled seafood was very yummy, good salad, yummy green beans, good potato salad. Excellent service, excellent atmosphere, excellent prices. Excellent handicap access too. IN A NUTSHELL: The Menu is too Big. They should cut the menu in half and make those things well. Stay away from open face sandwiches and give the other stuff a try. ;) read more

My grandfather and I came here for dinner Friday night, and were lucky to be seated at a booth right away- it was packed! And for good reason. For reasonable prices, Pandora serves up big portions of tasty fare! BYOB, we started out our meals with a Coke and a Ginger Ale, respectively. And as entrees, my grandfather ordered the broiled sirloin chopped steak mini-meal (still more than enough for a full meal!), and I ordered the salmon salad. A mountain of fresh greens topped with onion, cucumber, tomatoes, walnuts and, of course, salmon, it was enough for lunch the following day- and delicious! Our server was new and therefore nervous- after all, who wouldn't be with a menu as large as Pandora's and a dining room packed to the last table?- but she was both friendly and attentive. My wife and I went there for our anniversary and ordered prime rib dinners. one of us had a normal size portion an thickness. The other had a 3/8 inch thick portion and 1/2 of that was all fat and was not medium as ordered. Over cooked!! They removed 1 meal off the bill and replaced it with another one that was just as thin or maybe even thinner. It didn't even look like prime rib at all, and was super well done. The waitress was good and tried her best to resolve the problem. I left there extremely disappointed in the quality of my dinner. When I got home I tried one bite of the replacement prime rib and threw it in the trash cause it was so bad. Never eat there again!!! read more

Went for Mother's Day dinner with the family and the woman sat us at a table with a $12 tip left on the table. Well we called her back to show her that it was there and she replied "yeah, I'm just not sure which who waited the table." And which we had to ask her well could you please remove it anyway. We went to the Cinnaminson location. Honestly the place looks great and the dessert and coffee was excellent. It gets two stars because Vanessa (who was not our waitress BTW) made a passing comment to my girlfriend and insulted her. Luckily our waiter and food was great. The only reason for the second star. It's a shame because it's up the street from us and we would have been regulars for sure. Maybe I will check in and see if she still works there. If not we will be back. I work for a non profit organization. We provide services for adults with mental disabilities. This establishment refused to accept our tax exempt form. The check out cashier was rude, nasty, and beyond disrespectful! Our residents have to face enough challenges in life between the constant stares and loud whispers but to be told loudly and in front of other customers that they have no right to a tax exemption... that was uncalled for. We didn't complain when they didn't want to seat us. We didn't complain when the food was cold. But when you treat our guys like second class citizens... we have a problem! Would you want your family members to be treated like this? Shame on you! read more

Mixed reviews. Hubby & I had dinner here this evening. The place was crowded and we waited about 10 minutes for a table - I thought that was a good sign. Started off with a basket of fresh cornbread, cinnamon and cheese breads. All delicious and very fresh! Ordered French onion soup for me, hubby had the cream of crab soup - both disappointing. Never in my life have I had to add salt to French onion soup, but this needed it. The only thing with flavor was the melted cheese on top. For dinner hubby had the fried seafood platter which was extremely dry and overcooked. The shrimp were the consistency of sawdust and if I hadn't seen the tail sticking out at the end I'd have never guessed it was shrimp! I had the veal parm, which was very tasty and covered the entire dinner plate. Their marinara sauce was also excellent. For dessert we shared a slice of lemon coconut cake which was positively delicious! Not sure I could get my husband back here for dinner, but I'm willing to give it another try. read more

Service was good, food was ok. As we are eating a waitress comes out of the kitchen, from where I was seated (side entrance to kitchen) I could see the cook line and all the cooks in the various phases of cooking and assembling meals. Not one of them had their hair covered except one with a big yellow bandana, one used their bare hands and put a large amount of chesse all over a meal and then put his hand to his mouth and bite of a nail or a cuticle. Total disgust! Now mind you almost all the servers where in there waiting and watching for theur meals. Not one SERVER OR COOK said a thing to anyone about safety guidelines for handling food to the public. We came here very early on a Sunday morning-it was not very busy. We were seated promptly. Food was delicious! Server was nice. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because when the servers weren't busy, they were in the middle of the restaurant having conversations with each other. They were not even trying to whisper...they were fairly loud to the point where we could hear their entire conversation. It just wasn't very professional. read more

We eat here usually twice a month. The place is our go-to diner since November. We love (most) of the staff and the diverse amount of food available is astounding! The prices are very affordable and the food doesn't disappoint. I'm a big Reuben fan so I try them at every establishment that offers them, and it's definitely a must-try here. That is the last time I will go to the Pandora diner. Not because of bad food, the food is excellent, but because of the service. The last time there, I got up and walked out after a half hour wait for my food to come out of the kitchen. The waitress apparently didn't want to make an extra trip just to bring my food out. The time before that incident, I waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged by a waiter. The time before that, the waitress forgot to put my order in. The owner should light a fire under the butts of the wait staff before he looses more customers. It's a shame, I enjoyed their food. read more

Food was good, service was decent, ambiance was nicer than I'd expected. Typical "Jersey Diner" fare (menu featured a wide variety of items, leading me to wonder if they specialized in anything or if the line cooks would be overextended trying to remember how to cook so many variants). Parking lot was mostly full when I arrived, but I was seated promptly by the manager to a nice corner table. Table was clean, window was clean, busboy appeared new but was working hard to keep up. Waitress came to the table less than two minutes after I sat down and took my drink order (coffee and water). Waitress returned about three minutes later with drinks and took my breakfast order. Not sure about "daily special" menu items; nothing was offered and despite the sign outside stating all bakery items were produced in-house, no pastry or other items were offered. Ordered the #47 "Aztec Omelette" with jalapeño, tomato, and cheddar cheese, subbed English muffin for the toast, hash browns. Coffee was good, for generic restaurant coffee (not the best I've ever had, but not the worst). Creamer was actual half & half, not the standard flavored non-dairy liquid found in most restaurants. Omelette was good, with actual cheddar and fresh tomatoes. Jalapeños were canned. Ingredients were clustered in the middle, causing the center to be moist and flavorful but the ends were somewhat dry. Hash browns were oily and slightly undercooked (likely timed with the omelette on the griddle rather than being cooked separately). English muffin was well-toasted and buttered; tasted like it had been made in-house. Tables appeared to be spaced far enough apart for private conversation but close enough for wait staff efficiency; I had plenty of room at my four-top with enough separation between other tables to be comfortable. Waitress was friendly but efficient and fairly attentive; she came by the table every ten minutes or so to offer coffee refills and ask if I needed anything else. Prices were good ($11.79 for the whole order) for this area, food was hot and mostly fresh, and atmosphere and service were nice. I'd definitely go back. read more

Enjoyed the renovated dinner recently and was impressed with the lunch meals my wife and I ordered. We ate open faced sandwiches which were prepared and presented great. It's so sad to see diners go downhill. I had the Texas burger. It was basically a cheeseburger with BBQ sauce. The fries were so greasy that when I picked up the limp fry, my fingers were slimey and for 10 bucks a burger- well you'd think they would do better. When McDonald's is a better deal, it's time to think about your business. My dining partner asked for extra crackers for his soup and the waitress , who looked like she was in a trance, bought him one packet. How much are crackers? When they asked how everything was, I told them and she just keep giving me change like she never heard me. Over all, after going there for years... it will be a long time till we go back. This is the fourth time I've tried to eat here and while the food is good, standard diner food- I am reminded that the reason I don't come here more often is because the service is consistently bad. Tonight, it was a 30 minute wait for a tuna sandwich and a salad. Last time it was completely wrong order and while I am not quick to blame the waitresses, can I at least get an apology for the delay or for bringing the wrong order? I pass by this diner often and stopped by to check it out. I have to drive by Vincentown diner to get here, which is an excellent but expensive diner, but I intentionally passed up on Vincentown diner to check out Pandora. In all fairness the food was decent and it was less expensive than Vincentown diner (Although not as good). The main problem I had here was a table of eight men that the hostess decided to seat near me, my wife, and our three children. These men proceeded to curse and swear (including the "f" word) numerous times during what was supposed to be a peaceful and enjoyable Sunday breakfast. I didn't want to have to confront the men or cause a big scene so we left. I called and spoke to management who told me that it is not the norm. I won't be going back to find out. If you want ok food for a fair price and you don't mind cursing and swearing have at it. Otherwise pay a little more and go to Vincentown diner for better food and a better atmosphere. read more

First off let me start by saying Pandora is a 5 star diner! Although the staff is very friendly and speedy, I have had a few run ins with those bad waitresses. One time I had a women who failed to take the plates off my table, or give us napkins. In my opinion everyone needs more than one napkin and Pandora being a extremely busy restaurant I understand forgetting those small things but it was only ever with this waitress in particular, I do wish I remembered her name all I can say is she had her hair down because it was to short hair. Now to continue with that same waitress , I am a local so I do know all the local bars and pubs to get some good food at, I was in one of those local establishments when I saw the same waitress who I've had a couple times from pandora diner, from what I believe drinking I had even said to the bar tender doesn't that women work at the diner, when she quickly declined no I carried on with my business as they did. I'm not sure if I mentioned that I was just going to the local bar waiting for some old college pals to met up with me so we can journey out to eat. We quickly decided to go to Pandora, I had a server who was remotely pleasant in every way, I give kristy a big round of applauds she a great server! I was shocked when I seen the same women I had saw all of an hour to two before at the bar drinking, now serving people food. Now I really don't abject to a drink, but this wasn't just a drink or two! It's funny how I knew this women worked at Pandora and the bar tender said no. I really hope the owners of Pandora don't know what there employees are doing because if they know about this mid day drink and let it happen, what else could? Over all pandora is a great place great food great people! Awesome desserts! Going to have this rate this on a one out time so I will revisit to try again. This rating is based on the food. Came in today on my friend's recommendation. He got steak and eggs and the steak looked bland and he said it was flavorless. This diner was ok overall. The food was decent--got a cheese & mushroom omelette and coffee. The omelette was large but tasted like nothing special. The home fries were ok, rye toast was good (toasted evenly and with real butter) and the coffee was pretty good. It was freezing in there when the a/c blasted on and I asked the waitress if they could turn it down. She said it was on a timer and would go off. Then she walked away. The service was not the friendliest and the waitress never asked us how our meal was. She disappeared for a while after bringing it. I would definitely not go out of way to return here but it was ok. Finally ventured over to Pandora diner to see why they always have a full parking lot. The experience started off very well, the waitress was nice, our soup selection was great, and the service was very quick. I had a cheesesteak and my husband had a panini and they were both okay. After we had finished eating, we were told we could pay for our meals at the register on the way out, the elderly lady working the register who could use a lesson in customer service. After standing there for close to a minute, I was starting to think she didn't even though as she was scanning the room, her eyes went by us several times. She finally grabbed the check from my hand without saying a word to ring up my tab, she then reached her hand out, prompting me to give her my method of payment, still without verbally acknowledging me or making eye contact. After swiping my card, she put the receipt down on the counter for me to sign as she simultaneously welcomed new guests walking into the restaurant. As a paying customer I expected a minimum of a thank you as I pay for my services. We won't be back. read more
