This diner used to be our fav. We drive from Whiting for breakfast or lunch. But something has happened to the service. On 2 occasions we came in with a party of 8 for breakfast and a Party of 7 for breakfast. Both times the food came out room temperature. The first time we complained to the server. The second time my son talked me out of it. But, I'm not happy with food that sits for a while before service. I wonder if they are short runners or servers? No matter how good the food is, in my opinion if it's not hot, it ruins the whole eating-out experience. This diner is the only place that knows how to cook the beyond burgers. Much appreciated. But. It desperately needs to add some vegan desserts. Real ones. That look just like the others. Listen, we've been spoiled by many other places, but especially Kitchen 87 for the past, almost 11 years.... So we are on the hunt for a new Burger, breakfast and brunch place to call home. The place is very clean in the dining rooms, the tables are Kind of Ontop of one another and barely any room to get by. If we came back, we would ask for a booth, the tables were Cramped. We did not visit the restrooms, so I cannot speak on them, but overall, nicely decorated and Clean. I got the bacon omelette with American cheese, which was very good, but the home fries kind of ruined it due to the lack of flavor and also they were mushy. I am a coffee person and my cup of coffee was $3.49 and I only got 2 cups of coffee to drink because of the lack of our server coming back. I actually had to ask someone totally different if I could have a 2nd cup because our server was rolling silverware. I was disappointed that our server didn't spend much time with us, because I had Many questions, because I haven't been in here in over 15 years. The coffee company is called Evermore and I can say that I have never had it before, but it was not very caffeine powered and I'm not a fan of the flavor. I did not feel a difference and the taste was just mundane, unfortunately. I had high hopes for my coffee because that's what I need to jumpstart my day. My husband got A cheeseburger, he selected the "Betta Chedda", which has a lot of stuff on it, lettuce, tomato, red onion and it including bacon! He added Mushrooms! First off the food looked good at first but that's definitely deceiving. The hamburger was originally bought frozen. At 14.99 was crazy. It was very bland and didn't taste very good at all. They pile the lettuce, onions, tomato and cheese. If you're a big man you can handle it for sure. It was so big I couldn't bite into it. Even my husband couldn't handle it so well. The French onion soup was good in the beginning until I started feeling hard pieces in the broth which btw I still have no idea what that was. After a quick run through the local car inspection station on an early morning, I decided to treat myself to breakfast at the Vincentown Diner, a local staple since 1973, though the ownership and menu have been upgraded to include all sorts of innovative items, and a commitment to using locally-sourced farm to table food. I was happily greeted right at opening and seated in one of them many booths. The Vincentown still has a good-sized counter area as well as the aforementioned booths and another large dining room. If you are ever there for lunch or dinner, they also have a liquor license and serve beer, wine, and mixed drinks. Looking over the rather extensive breakfast menu, I decided to go with something called a Stacker, which I wasn't quite sure of, but turned out to be the right choice! Hashbrowns on the bottom and on the top, and a filler of your choice in the middle. Basically a normal breakfast plate stacked high, instead of wide, lol. Mine included a little truffle mayo and was good to the last bite. Also included a side of fresh fruit! Vegetarian, friendly! Great coffee, too! Service was also a cheery and attentive without being overbearing. The whole experience was terrible. 3 out of 4 hated their food - let me explain - my Philly cheese steak was almost all bread very little meat could not find the cheese and way too many onions. My wife's mile high meatloaf looked terrible and tasted worst and the mashed potatoes were between 2 overcooked meat slabs and mixed vegetables uncooked - took 75% home and in the trash it went. We've eaten at the Vincentown Diner a few times now, once for breakfast, and once for dinner. We felt our breakfast experience was better than the time we stopped for dinner, mainly because the French Toast they serve is outstanding. When we had dinner at the Vincentown Diner the other night, I ordered a Cubano sandwich, my wife went with the Country Chicken dinner, and my Mother In Law had the Pumpkin Chicken Waffle. My Cubano was decent, but I felt there was much more bread to meat in the sandwich. It was still tasty enough though. I could see that my wife wasn't thrilled with her Country Chicken dinner, was kinda blah & boring. But my Mother In Law loved her Pumpkin Chicken Waffle, she finished her whole meal, which she rarely does. I had a bite of her waffle, and it was pretty good. We ordered a slice of Peanut Butter Pie to all share for dessert. HUGE slice, pie was creamy and good, but we detected a banana flavor in it. My Mother In Law said that places will often use bananas as a cheap filler in pies, but like I just said, we still enjoyed the dessert. The ambiance is a bit dark and not inviting and the portions are not that big for what they are charging (though my panini was very good, kudos for that). Service: not great. My server seemed to have forgotten about me after my meal wound down and I had to intercept another server to track him down. Another NJ dinner review. The voted Best Chicken and Waffles of southern NJ sign brought us in. The place as all the Dinners on this stretch of road has been recently renovated. It's clean with a large capacity but not cramped. I had the Pan Seared Pork Chops with a Lemon Rosemary sauce and a Caesar Salad, their Caesar like the Caesar's I had in New Jersey don't have added shaved or grated Parmesan cheese. Thinking might be a regional thing. It was good with very green leafy chopped romaine lettuce and a creamy Caesar dressing. The Pork Chops were Phenomenal. Two big thick cuts of the Pork Loin, wish it had been bone-in. But it was cooked perfect the Lemon Rosemary sauce really complemented the pork. I'd love to see that on grilled chicken thighs. My wife had the now billboard famous Chicken and Waffles. The chicken wasn't freezer to Deep Fried and the outer batter had a honey like taste lightly breaded and cooked perfect. Always seems to be good local beer on tap as well. Haven't been in a while and still a great place with a menu sure to please everyone. We started with the fried calamari appetizer, large portion, delish and loved the light batter. Known for The Mile High meatloaf and there is no doubt I'll order it again and again. If not in the mood for a full meal.. the sandwiches are a wonderful tasty option. The grilled chicken panini was flavorful and French fries also have a coating with nice seasoning. Don't forget dessert. However, I argue that in an industry and culture where stagnation may result in downfall, Vincentown Diner does a great job at maintaining the basics while exploring menu items that bridges the gap to other tastes and experiences. As such, Vincentown Diner is truly unique. From the moment you arrive, you will find that the Vincentown Diner does not subscribe to the typical brick-and-mortar, 70s/80s diner appearance. The design of the building is incredibly sleek, with clean lines and appearance. It does a great job at catching one's attention as it sits upon the intersection. You may even mistake it as a fine dining venue, until you see the word "diner" on it. There is a neat patio area with rocking chairs, but all the seating is located inside the diner. Upon entering the diner, you will begin to see the transition into the old school diner look as if you are travelling through time in a sense. The diner is clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are a bit small, but this is probably not the reason why you're here. We ate here around noon, and found that the service was great. Literally the entire staff was approachable and incredibly friendly. Our waiter was outstanding and knowledgeable of the menu items; he was on point with taking our orders and delivered accordingly. As mentioned previously, the menu items fused traditional diner items (breakfast, sandwiches, and burgers) and explores a bit of other cultural items. The food was great (I know I'm being vague here, but I assure you that you will be delighted with the portions and flavor in your meal). I'm looking forward to coming back again, and trying out their burgers. If you're working on Fort Dix, whether that be during the weekday or weekend, I challenge you to make the trip out this way to Vincentown Diner. Trust me, the meal will make your day! Delish! Heard about Vincentown diner on the radio, as they were offering a deal online. While looking up the diner, we came across their Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives episode and watched as they prepared the most intricate meat loaf we had ever seen. We definitely came for the mile high meatloaf, but I must say their turkey dinner is where it's at. Their homemade spiced cranberry sauce influenced me to go out and buy pounds of fresh cranberries to recreate it, and I've always been a cranberry jelly (in the can) kind of girl. So that's saying a lot! On the topic of cranberries, they carry a cranberry wine that's crafted locally and it is SOO GOOD. On our second visit, my husband tried the prime rib, as their sign outside is always promoting it. I would not recommend the prime rib, ours came out cold and was not very flavorful. As always, once I find something I like I stick to it--so I also ordered the turkey dinner & it did not disappoint. Vincentown diner has definitely earned a spot on my restaurant rotation. We started out with the drunken nachos then my wife had a huevos rancheros omelette and I had the volcano burger with queso fries then had the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Had a very disappointing experience, after eating at this diner, for over (30) years! They should do what they did years ago. I recently ordered a cup of espresso, and was brought a Luke warm cup of espresso. They also bo ast a seasonal menu,how odd, you go to a favorite diner, because there's a favorite meal item,that you like! How can you experience this, if you flip the script.
