I enjoy this Panera because it's close to work but, of course, it's location makes it very busy between 1130 and 130! That being said, the floors and tables are usually in a sorry state around the lunch hour. I'm a pretty big fan of the iced vanilla coffee drink and the smokehouse turkey panini so I recommend those! Of course the bakery always has some pretty delicious stuff behind the glass but I have no self-control so I generally steer clear of that area. read more

I'm a huge Panera fan. Their food is quality and delicious, and the service leaves nothing to be desired. This particular restaurant could probably benefit from a little more cleaning, but I have no complaints. This location seems to be fairly typical for Panera. I'd definitely recommend their broccoli cheddar soup and any of their salads. The cuts of chicken are always good. If you need a to-go order, they'll package everything up for you and stick in on the to-go shelf. It all travels well. As far as baked goods though (pastries, cakes, cookies) I would suggest that you patronize one of our local bakeries, instead. I walked in around 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon and there was a really long line, but not too many people sitting so maybe I just hit part of the after church crowd. Instead of standing in line, I opted to put my order in through their app and pick it up at the counter in about 10 minutes. I had plenty of options of places to sit, but many of the tables hadn't been wiped down and were obviously dirty. I went to wash my hands and in the ladies' room the paper towel dispenser was broken so a roll of towels was sitting on a chair next to the door. Which would be fine except the roll was soggy from so many hands touching it. I ordered a Mediterranean sandwich and an iced tea-it didn't give me an option for a size. When I went to pick up my order I had to ask about the cup for the drink and they gave me a regular. I checked the menu and the price I was charged lined up with that option so no issues there. The sandwich was good and I always love Panera's options of teas and agua frescas and how it lists how much sugar is in them. I just wish the tables had been a bit cleaner, but it was pretty busy so I'll cut them a break. read more

I'm a HUGE fan of Panera! I have never had a bad item from their menu; but the great part is, if something is wrong, they do their best to make it right! I visit at least twice a week for the Green Passion Smoothie and Bacon, Egg & Cheese on Ciabatta! Excellent breakfast that sticks with me well into lunch! This was the most disappointing meal I have ever had at a Panera. It was my first visit to this particular Panera. My friend and I both ordered the chicken and avocado salad. The main complaints I have about the salad have to do with the temperature of the lettuce. The salad tasted as if it had been made earlier in the day and stuck in the cooler until someone ordered it. There were actually pieces of lettuce that looked like they had been wilted in the freezer. Other than the lettuce, the other ingredients were decent, but I only got 2 very small bites of avocado in the entire (half sized) salad. All in all I will look for another place to eat next time I am in this part of Augusta. Delicious food but prices are on the high end. The employees mostly young adults, preparing and serving food, display a lack of customer service and courtesy when asked a question. Small Portions. Expensive. And they mess up your order 70% of the time. Panera is decent food, although portions are very small for the price. A half of a sandwich runs $4-5.50, and is barely five bites. The large salads are a better value. I used to eat here 2-3 times a week (while I had a small child at home), but I noticed that the kitchen staff varied widely in preparing the food- sometimes it was exactly as advertised, and other times it looked like it had been assembled by a drunk Nascar pit crew at high speed. I also noticed that AT LEAST half the time, they forgot an entire item from my order- not a big deal when eating in, but when you pick up after work or order delivery it's a big deal, and I was never satisfied with how management handled it. The last 5 times in a row they have messed up my order and I haven't noticed in time to avoid a major hassle. No more. I will boil my own shoe before eating here again. read more

Panera Bread is my go to spot! I started going to Panera Bread when I was pregnant with my third baby! We loved to eat the Tomato and Mozzarella Panini (which they no longer have)! I find myself in here every Sunday to do some much needed studying and it is a great place to do just that! While eating my bagel and drinking my free coffee, I noticed they have a grab your bag shelf. It seems like a great idea to order your food online and find your food when you walk into the establishment and leave. I have yet to see this in operation, but I am interested in seeing how it works. I use my Panera Bread card all of the time and it always gives great rewards like free coffee for the month, money off an online order, and the yummy, yummy high caloric treats! I must say that I have not had any of the main salads or soups, but I hope to change that. I also enjoy the hot teas they offer and the prices are not to bad. It is in a great location and it has a super atmosphere. The staff is super sweet and always friendly. There is great seating for groups and couple seating. I plan to take full advantage of my free coffee this month so my check in's at Panera Bread will be thru the roof. Panera bread in general is one of my #1 choices for places to study because of their great coffee/espresso, free wi-fi, and atmosphere. However, I gotta say that this Panera SUCKS for studying. It's in a central location in Augusta and is SUPER crowded all the time. My biggest complaint is the noise. The decibel level is always wayyyy up there between the customer's chitter-chatter and the overly amplified loud-speaker that the employees use to call out orders when they're ready (this thing goes off every 20 seconds). Again, not the ideal spot if you're intending on getting some quiet and peaceful reading/study time in. Also, resulting from the large customer influx, this restaurant tends to get dirty and stay that way throughout the day. read more

Stopped at this location on a Sunday morning. The person taking my order seemed confused by me ordering a sesame bagel with heir veggie cream cheese. But that was the smallest of the issue. When I got my egg white, spinach and avacado sandwich, it had a single quarter sized piece. And no spinach but a tomato. My husbands spinach, turkey sausage and egg sandwich barely had a sober of turkey sausage. And tomato as well. If they were out of spinach, that would have been nice to know before ordering. Torn on how to review this so I'm gonna go with the actual location/employees versus the quality of food. Party of 3, ordered sandwiches and somehow through the huge plastic divider and the noisy machine kinda catty-cornered to the register heard the bird lady ask if the chips had gotten there yet. We didn't catch what the reply was. Obviously it was no, cause we got what everybody who just ordered a sandwich wants, more bread. No one was distancing, heck we were all leaning in closer around the giant plastic divider in order to hear the cashier. It was clear the drink station counter itself hasn't been cleaned in a while. We wanted to just get out of there and they had no large to-go boxes, only these tiny 4x6" ones, that's my guess on size and it's generous. The saving grace was the actual sandwiches. They were good, the bread toasted perfectly and fillings pretty okay. One of us said that go back curbside just for the sandwich, the other 2 said nah. read more

Not really that complicated. When I got to the counter the girl, Ebony, called me Simon. My name is Simone. When I examined the bags to make sure everything was in them, the M&M cookie was missing. Ebony then told me they were out of M&M cookies and to pick another kind. Ebony, could you not have had someone bake another batch while I was on my way to pick up the food? Or better yet, could you just have told me that when we were on the phone? So then I go to eat the meal and my sandwich had no lettuce and no tomato on it when I SPECIFICALLY asked for those 2 things. Not to mention the sandwich looked like it was something you'd pull out of a kindergarteners lunch box and the bread tasted like it was on it's 2nd day of a grocery store shelf. Generally I wouldn't get so pissed off, but when you are off of a highway where people are making massive road trips and want a healthy alternative to McDonalds or Wendy's it'd be nice if the person working the counter actually would listen to the order, maybe say your name right, and tell you if something is unavailable while you are on the phone with them. Our meal was terrible in taste and price. I haven't been in about five years, and was really looking forward to getting what I remember, as one of my favorite places to eat. However, upon gazing at the menu, I noticed all my favorites were replaced with health-driven food. Still, I ordered with my family member, and was shocked to see the price jump. This is the second time the order I gave for a business lunch was wrong. This time they did not get it done and the lunch was delayed 2 hours. When I called 5 times (one I was hung up on) they staff did not try to help at all. The manager was less than helpful and did not care to correct the issue or offer any assistance other than to take the order again and make me wait an additional hour. I ordered online at 10:45 AM. It is 1:03PM and I will not get the order until after 2:00PM. This is the worst service possible. Chick Fil A will always be my preferred choice from now on. When we got to Panera it was fine. We ordered and sat down. They called us up to the counter to let us know that the mac and cheese would take about 10 mins. While I have to admit that is understandable. However, I do not believe it is an excuse to serve the mac cold. The mac and cheese was still frozen and when I returned it to the counter the lady made it seem as though it was my fault. She made it seem like an inconvenience to fix the problem. She only offered to warm it up a little more and did not offer an apology. They also served the Caesar salad without a fork or knife.
