They always forget my utensils and it's a 50/50 toss up on whether or not your meal will include your side of choice, that is if they even remember to put any side in at all. No napkins either. I flip-flop back and forth on whether I love them or not. I guess it depends on what time you come in for your cinnamon crunch and cream cheese or pay through the nose for a soup that gets smaller every year and sandwiches that get smaller and smaller thanks to the "artisanal" breads they use. I miss the good old days when a bowl of use could fit in my giant melamine bowl at home. Now a bowl of soup fits in a cereal bowl and it leaves me hungry and cranky. The pros: 1. Free Wi-Fi for 1 hour during lunch hour 2. A wide variety of self serve coffees 3. A selection of baked goods that appeases the toughest group of picky eaters 4. They're open at 6:00 a.m. 5. They have a Panera card that gives you offers periodically Now the cons: 1. The portions have gotten smaller while the prices get hiked up higher and higher 2. The tables are never clean! 3. I come to this Panera every time I work because I work in the area. Some days are better than others, but this morning was really disappointing. Upon ordering a bacon, egg, and cheese, I was told that they had no regular bacon at the moment, only chopped bacon. This led me to believe that nothing they prepare is fresh. Everything comes pre-made. I was also told that their system for ordering iced drinks is down, so I couldn't get the drink I usually get there. When the sandwich came, the egg on top was cold which was a little disturbing: everything really is pre-made and just heated. For a place that seems to preach on having good for you food, it's a shame that they don't make things fresh on premises. And to not have the various things that people will order is unacceptable. UPDATE: I came back in for lunch to find that their ordering system was down for a while. Panera food is always great but this is based off of the service. Everything was fine. Ordered my half sandwich and pasta (a lot of food for one person but I'm pregnant and hungry). Go to pick up my food and I'm alone so i don't exactly have an extra set of hands. Get to the window and my sandwich and pasta are on separate plates. I have a purse on one shoulder. A drink in hand. Because i don't want to leave it and it get cleaned. I ask the worker if they have a try. Doesn't even look at me and says "Sorry Ma'am no we don't." Left to fend for myself. Another worker asks if i need help and i say yes please but he continues to stare at me. So i decide to just fend for myself. Had to tuck my drink in my arm and carry both plates. We've gone to this location a few times its dirty..always out of menu items the workers are rude, bathrooms are extremely dirty and one stall doesn't lock, the floors are dirty. Carpet area looks like it hasn't had any attention in quite some time area where drinks are dispensed are dirty. they really don't seem to care if people come back or not. I heard comments from other customers about the cleanliness of the place. I'd rather drive further to a cleaner place to eat. I hadn't been to Panera Bread for ages until last weekend when we were craving bagels. The decision to get some also resulted in us choosing to use the Rapid Express to get lunch. The food was great, as were the bagels. My only complaint was that two of my tubs of cream cheese were not in the bag when I got home, and they were out of plain bagels. I called about the cream cheese, and the girl was very nice, apologized, and put it aside for me to pick up later. We decided to order dinner as well and pick it up along with the cream cheese. No complaints on that visit. Last night we went back for more bagels, some bread, and for dinner. My scheduled order was not ready, so I had to wait almost 20 minutes. Not so rapid. Then, half the bagels I wanted were gone. They only had about 5 flavors left. I finally headed to the car, but checked my bag... My loaf of bread wasn't there. I headed back in the store... They were out of it as well, so I made arrangements to pick it up today. (I was not the only person having a frustrating visit.) When we arrived home, one of my sandwiches was missing, so I placed another phone call. That time I got the manager. She was very apologetic and thanked me for my patience. She left a note for me to get a whole sandwich today when I went in, which is actually what I ordered. Today, the gentleman waiting on me was very nice and also apologetic. We got lunch from there with no isses, I received my bread and sandwich, and he also gave me the 6 bagels I wanted last night for free. I've eaten at this location before and have had mediocre food experiences. Today's trip wasn't one of them, thankfully. I had a pick two: Teriyaki Chicken sandwich and Mac n cheese. Good meal. What really peeved me was the staff. I understand it's Covid operations, so business may be slower than usual; however, the cashier was whining about having to do work and not wanting to answer the phone, huffing and puffing in an attempt to garner the attention of her colleague. I came in to eat and do some academic reading. The dining room was sparsely populated -- ideal scene for restaurants trying to open up during the pandemic. I wasn't able to focus on my reading because the cashier, the other colleague, and a manager-looking individual were conversing loudly to one another, behind the counter. At one point, during their gossip exchange, the cashier said, "let me calm down before these customers are disrupting their eating." I couldn't tell if it was a colleague or the manager, but someone followed with, "Why? They have headphones." I did not; I generally enjoy the bustle of a cafe to get work done. This experience, however, was not enjoyable. Through their "tea spilling," I heard exclamations of "Drag her! Draaaaagg her!" I had enough of their banter and left. This is not to say, "Focus only on work -- no fun allowed!" This was just unprofessional (especially on the part of the manager), excessive, and highly disrespectful to customers. read more

They were out of the flat bread, the sandwich hat very little bbq sauce in the middle of the whole wheat bread (I ordered the sandwich as a panini). This location does not even deserve one star... From the full trashy can both inside and out to very unprofessional service...I should have known better to expect my food to at least be decent. Some one ahead of me complained that their sandwich was not as "full" as it has been in the past (not a lot of turkey- and he was right) then, as he walked away my cashier complained to the other worker about him- and not quietly might I add, I could hear her while I was standing over by his booth waiting for my to go order. I received my food, and noticed they forgot my bread bowl- whatever, it happens, I went back inside and asked for one...I leave and much on my baguette on the ride home. I get home, so excited for my French onion soup and grilled cheese. HOW!? Howwwwww do you screw up a grilled cheese?? It was barely toasted...and the cheese was not melted all the way through. Wow! Super fast service at lunch time on a Friday! I had ham and cheese on a croissant. It's my go to! Not awesome. I prefer Panera to ABC, mostly because I feel like in my experience the bread has been better. That was not the case here. The locations in Evans and Grovetown get higher marks in this category. Weekend roadtrips to the "A" almost always include a jaunt over to Lenox where shopping abounds and lunch at Panera was a given. I ordered a chicken noodle group soup, and it came to $17 after tax. For about 15 minutes, people were shouting about group soup lids but nobody went looking. Finally they decided to put in 4 bowls. While I was waiting, 4 different customers came up to the counter complaining of a wrong orders and a burnt sandwich. Not a single employer apologized, but looked incredibly annoyed. When I got my bag, I kid you not, there was not a single noodle in any of the bowls. I checked every single container, only carrots could be found. So I went, and very nicely explained that I just wanted a refund, and that not a single noodle was in the bowl. The manager didn't apologize once. I worked at Panera in Colorado Springs for two years. This is ridiculous. read more

Got a bagel, cinnamon roll and coffee today. They have changed the cinnamon roll formula and the new one is light years behind in taste/quality of the old one! The coffee very weak with hazelnut brewed so that you could see the bottom of cup when cup halfway full! Whoever answered the phone was extremely rude. She said "we are in the middle of our lunch rush, I'm going to need you to call back later" and acted annoyed I had called. I understand you all are busy, but that is no reason to not treat someone with respect. I am definitely not going to use them for catering now or ever again, and will make sure to visit Atlanta bread or the evans Panera from this point forward. I've visited this Panera a few times since moving to the Augusta area. One thing that is nice about this location is that it's no where near as busy as the location in my hometown! It has always taken less than 15 minutes to get food, which is always nice. I have never had a problem with the food I have been served at this location -- it is always hot and seemingly fresh. (For lunch, I recommend getting the You Pick Two deal with a Mediterranean Veggie sandwich and Garden Vegetable soup). As for the not-so-positive things I have experienced at this location. Parking is somewhat minimal compared to other locations I have visited. It's a hit-or-miss in regards to the staff; sometimes they're pleasant, sometimes they're rude. This is the only Panera that I have visited where I have run into this problem, but rudeness just seems to be a common thing in the Augusta area. Lastly, my husband always complains about how the Big Kid Grilled Cheese is never thoroughly cooked. Sometimes, it just looks toasted and the cheese is no where near melted.
