I would not recommend this location. They are extremely slow and the drive thru sucks. The girl that works the window is slow and has an attitude. Been back here now twice and this is still the slowest Panera ever. They are so slow, in fact, they've started giving you sticky notes at the drivethru and asking that you park in the parking lot while they make your order... this not only defeats the purpose of using the drive thru, it makes parking a complete and total nightmare. Because they are so slow, the line for the drivethru often backs into the parking lot which further adds to the confusion (not to mention is hazardous to everyone). This place has been in business now long enough to have figured it out. I like their sandwiches but they are even less efficient than before. Panera Bread is a franchise, compared to other locations I visit this one the most as it is close to work. The restrooms are clean, the dining area is clean and spacious, the WiFi is reliable, they have a multitude of ways to order (via fast lane kiosk, at the bakery counter, delivery and online). My issue is that I have had 3-4 experiences with something wrong with my order. If I have time, they correct and are very helpful, but usually I don't have time to check in detail or wait for an order to be re-done. I have not had an egregious issues. But 3 because I've come to expect a certain level of "on-point-ness" with Panera Bread that this one does not deliver. But, they will fix any issue you may have so if you notice something bring it to their attention. It's still a pretty new location. read more

I had a great dinner here. I opted for the pick 2, and chose the summer corn chowder and Italian sandwich. The cashier and server that brought out my food were both friendly and attentive. I'm bumping them up a star because it appears that customer service is important to them - management reached out after I completed my survey. But this will never be a go to spot for me. Main reasons - 1) I called in an order, but when I went to drive thru to pick it up, they said I had to come in to get my order. Hunh? This is pretty annoying because I distinctly remember getting some sort of email the other day about how convenient it is to just order online or call in a bowl of soup, if you're sick or just not feeling well, you can stay in your jammies and drive to the store. In that scenario, are we supposed to come inside the store in our jammies? After being told I couldn't get my order at the drive-thru, I went inside and inquired about my order, but the young man in the kitchen 'window' didn't know anything about it. While he was trying to figure it out - a very helpful customer sitting on the bench waiting, pointed at the little cubby and said, "You might want to check there." There were two HUGE brown bags (the type you'd used for catering sitting there). I said, "I don't think these are mine." (I'd only ordered a sandwich and chips) But on a whim I decided to check anyway. Lo and behold - the second bag I looked at contained my order. Which brings me to my second point. 2) Way too much wasteful packaging. This bag was about 18 x 20" or larger. See pics. My order was a small ham and cheese sandwich on white bread with a small ploid of chips. I'm not nearly the treehugger I once was - but this was ridiculous. And if they ran out of smaller bags then that speaks poorly to operations and inventory management, so there's that . . . 3) Not a good value for the price. I get that Panera caters to a much more 'high end' customer - but even if I was splurging or treating myself - I just don't see myself paying $9 for a small sandwich and chips, subpar customer service by an untrained staff and a regular fast food dining room to interior. I'd rather spend $9 on a huge sub from a place like Publix. For that price - you get freshly baked bread which is a Panera selling point, you get comparable meats and cheeses and you can cut that sandwich into fourths and you'll have a comparable sized Panera sandwich - so you do the math. If the taste of the Panera sandwich was extraordinary - or the experience was somehow elevated from the norm, I'd gladly visit every now and then - but this is not the case. read more

So, I have a bit of a mixed review, but overall, I'm pretty happy and I would come back. This Panera location just opened here in Austell, and I welcome it with open arms. I've always been a fan of the franchise. And I'm glad I don't have to travel all the way to Cobb Parkway or in Kennessaw. The location is on East-West Connector, right besides Lowe's. Getting there was very easy. The building, itself, is new. Parking was not an issue. And ordering through drive-thu was easy. Pros: This is a new shop, so everything is still new and works properly. Nothing is run down. Maybe I haven't step foot in a real Panera Bread in awhile, but the new kiosk is really great. I haven't personally seen it, so I was very excited to try it out. The store makes it real easy to order food: from the register, kiosk, or online on the table. (You just order online and put in your table number and they will bring the food to you.) It is an introvert's paradise. If you do order from 1 of the 4 kiosk - you can get a free medium coffee. (This could be a promotional thing to get people to start using it.) This store also has the drive through if you don't even want to deal with it in person. The seats are comfortable and the booths are not worn down. The ambiance is calming and decorations are tasteful. The layout was slightly confusing for me when I first walked in. But I went in from the side door. There are many seating options and many small booths for solo study sessions, (and eating). There are plugs throughout the restaurant, and a long table enough for 8 people (9 if you pull up a seat at the end). The workers are very nice, but I didn't interact with them too often. (I'm all about that kiosk). Cons: There are not too many cons. I wonder if it is because the store is new, and they are working out their kinks. But the only thing that I noticed was that my Tortellini Alfredo was not fully cooked. It just needed a few more moments. And my other con is that the layout of the store feels a little congested. It wasn't a huge issue, because the dinning area near the windows felt right. Overall: Everything was what I expected it to be. But due to the fact that the pasta was just slightly underdone (which was the first it has happened with the store.) and the fact that it feels slightly congested, I gave one star away. Every time I come to this location I have an issue whether I eat in or take it to go. Last time my broth bowl had no broth. Luckily, I was eating there, but it took almost 10 minutes for them to bring me my broth. I even had to go check on it. I complained with customer service online and they took care of me. This Panera bread location is literally the worst! There is ALWAYS something wrong with my order. We have attempted to order rapid pickup multiple times and they forget to give us our sides, or bakery items, or something else! Today I ordered the Frontega chicken sandwich and a bread bowl with onion soup. My husband brings my order home since I'm stuck at home sick and there is literally nothing on my sandwich except a piece of onion a piece of tomato and a small piece of chicken with no sauce or anything. WTF!!! And of course no bread bowl to be found. The management at this location needs to train their staff better geez! Another fly is literally trapped in the cheese container (see picture). And yet another fly is trapped within the bread bowl's wrapper. A woman at the front of the line placed what turned out to be a catering order, with many different changes and replacements. The cashier noted this to her so I'm thinking maybe something should have been said before we all stood there. I work in Austell, so I was so excited when I saw they were building a Panera! I went here a few times when they first opened and it was okay. I guess it was still new enough that it had the illusion of being better than it was... If you're in the mood for slow service and dirty bathrooms, then look no further! This is the place for you! Today, however, this location crossed a new threshold in terms of terribly slow service. I placed an online order at 12:15 which sent a confirmation email telling me my food would be ready at 12:25. Finally around 1:15 I was leaving with my work order (3 salads) BUT there were people who had ordered in the store and been waiting for over an hour for their meal. I really don't see how that was possible? I saw at least a dozen people return to the counter to ask for a refund after waiting 20 minutes with no food. The staff taking orders was very sweet, but I don't know what was going on in that kitchen! And for a couple of the refunds they had to track down the manager who was MIA the entire time I was in the store waiting. So on the plus side, if you're looking to get into management, this Panera location will probably be looking for a new manager soon! read more

I gave this place so many chances and I can't take it anymore. When it first opened, the food was decent but it has gone down hill so bad. Even after this picture I took I gave them one more chance today and this is the last time. The food is beyond disgusting. We've been to this Panera multiple times each week since they opened. Because it's convenient, and let's face it Panera food is excellent. I've attempted the drive through, rapid pick-up, dine-in, you get the idea. No matter what something has been wrong with the order. The biggest issue I have is how many times the ingredients of what I've ordered are wrong. Is there not a book the employees can refer too so they can double check what to put on a signature salad or sandwich? If it's a basic menu item it shouldn't be made incorrectly this consistently. If you happen to get home without checking your order and realize the mistake you will never get in touch with a manager. They just tell you the manager is too busy to come to the phone. The staff is nice enough but need some food prep training. At this point I would be shocked if my order ever came as stated on the menu. Update 11/12/17 Just went through the drive through. Ordered 2 bagels and 2 large coffees. Drive up to the window told they are out of light roast coffee. No worries give us dark roast. Window closes. We wait. Someone use comes up and tells us they are out of the bagels we ordered. No worries give us different bagels. Wait. Get bagels. Wait. Get coffees and they are smalls instead of larges. I got two gift cards for Panera for my birthday. So of course on Saturday which was my birthday-I went and got a chicken Baja bowl. Can I just tell you this was the most disgusting thing I've ever purchased and tried to eat from this Panera. I had gotten this item once before and really enjoyed it but I don't know what happened this time. They put a dollop of what I thought was sour cream on the side but it turned out to be Greek yogurt EWWWWW and it smelled rancid. This was the most pleasant experience I've had at this Panera. Maybe because it wasn't super busy. Bathrooms were clean. Fully stocked. The Autumn Squash soup was delicious. The minus one star is I've had bad experiences here before. I hope the good trend continues. read more

This is the worst Panera I've ever been to when it comes to service. 1. The employees talk amongst themselves as if customers can't hear them. There also appears to be too many people without anything to do as they chill around the counter. I watched one cut me off at the drink station only to half fill a cup and gulp it down real quickly 2. I requested a salad without meat and added avocado instead of meat. The salad arrived with bacon. The remake had no added avocado. I was charged for the added avocado. The bowl the salad came in and the plate was visibly dirty. I was twenty mins late returning to work from lunch. 3. The cook is heavy handed on the dressing. I felt like I was eating a sloppy joe. I've heard other customers complain about it too. 4. On my third and last attempt to spend money at this place, the bread on my sandwich was so hard and cold I had to seek the microwave. I asked the employee where I could find it and he showed me where it was. I told him the bread was cold and hard and he told me it shouldn't be. I said it feels like it came from the fridge. Come on Panera, I try and try and give you a chance but lo and behold, the experience is always subpar. I've never had issues with the soups such as the butternut squash or turkey chili, but yesterday I got a flatbread bbq chicken sandwich and it was awful! The flatbread tasted like cardboard. The chicken, is this canned chicken or what? It was very skimpy and definitely not worth the cost. I would have been better off going to Subway. Last week I got a turkey, apple, cheddar sandwich and it surprisingly had a decent cut of turkey on it because the week prior i got chopped up turkey that looked like ground turkey and the sandwich was soggy and just gross. Today I went into Panera for a before 12pm lunch, half turkey avocado sandwich and half Greek salad and my granddaughter had soup and half turkey avocado sandwich and 2 soft drinks. Since I had not ordered the half and half before I asked the cashier about the prices. I didn't see what the half sand /salad would be nor half sand / soup. She responded "its on the menu". I was puzzled still on how the pricing was set up. She said its in green. I am trying to understand why she cant just tell me or give me a preview. It was not crowded. Then she said you want the prices?? I could not believe it so I had to respond "I do have to pay for it, right? What else would I be asking since I began what are the prices? Then the total for this 1130 am ish lunch was $25.00!!!! When I went to pick up the items, I saw a "Caesar salad NOT a Greek salad and the sandwich had "brown" avocados". I asked her could she remove and replace with better looking avocados. She said "they all look like that." She went on to explain that when you cut them they turn brown, etc etc. I politely told her I was familiar with the avocado turning brown after you peel them and they sit out, I offered her the advice that if you "soak them in water" they will not turn brown. She flippantly responded "I will let Corporate know" I responded, no need I will let them know on the website. She then said "Have a great Sunday!" I said "I hope to after paying $25.00 for crappy food and I might add on this review - service as well".
