I've been to this location several times, but I feel like every time I go, I like it a little less. We went around lunchtime on a Friday and it was crowded but we got seated pretty quickly. The music was so loud and bass-heavy. It was really annoying. Most of the folks there were families with little ones or senior citizens, so I'm not sure who that music was for but it made it hard to talk. Our waitress was really attentive at first and then it was hard to get what we asked for or see her again. We had to ask for lemon for our water twice before getting it. We asked for a box at the end and then she never came back, so we had to go up to the front to ask for one. The iced coffee was just okay, nothing special for the price. The menu is very meat-heavy. And the few vegetarian items have the exact same veggies and cheese, so if you don't like sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese, you're out of luck. I get that it probably makes it easier for the kitchen, but some varied vegetarian options would be amazing. I got the smoked salmon frittata, which was just ok. Too many tomatoes, not enough salmon. I also wanted more sour cream or something for it. I subbed grits for the salad, and they too were just ok, pretty bland. My dad got the lemon ricotta pancakes, which were huge (two meals) and he really enjoyed them. My mom got half a veggie sandwich, which had at least an inch on raw spinach on it, and half a sweet honey pecan salad (without chicken or bacon). The salad was actually really good. We frequently visit this First Watch location, but unfortunately our last two visits have been very disappointing. Although we were seated promptly, we were not greeted by our server for several minutes. On both occasions, I had to return to the hostess stand after waiting 5-10 minutes just to get assistance. During our most recent visit, the waitress assigned to our table made eye contact with me multiple times but never came over. When I went back to the hostess stand, another staff member--who was not our assigned server--assisted us right away and was very pleasant. Overall, the service has been extremely slow lately. It also took quite a while for our food to arrive. I observed that the waitress assigned to us had other tables nearby that she also did not check on consistently. She took their orders and delivered beverages, but did not return until their food was ready and it was time for payment. Manager Eddie did come by toward the end of our meal, listened to our concerns, and comped our meal, which we appreciated. He was professional and attentive. First watch at Cumberland Plwy have made some drastic changes to their restaurant design. They have strategically made greater usage of space. The front entrance has been resigned as well as the restroom front entrances. It just makes sense. I chose the traditional breakfast with turkey sausage and a Belgian waffle. For the beverage I had a morning mediation. My first round of over easy eggs came out overly hard, but my server Trinity stepped up and had the chef whip together a set of perfectly timed easy eggs. It was epic. How many times have we dined out and had to get something replaced and it came at the end of the dining experience? My food was still warm when the eggs came out. I was grateful. I actually like First Watch at this location. The food is healthier than most breakfast spots in Atlanta. First Watch focuses on Non-GMO dishes which all restaurants should have this as a requirement. The drink are always fresh and in good taste. I give this experience 4.5 starships. Had a horrible experience today (Memorial Day). We checked in online and got seated outside at a high top. We saw the people who were seated after us get their food before us. Our food came out cold (waffle) and burnt (French toast) and the waitress seemed surprised when we sent it back after waiting for 45 minutes. I asked for a manager and was told by the 3 hostesses that it was too busy for them to let a manager know that I wanted to speak to them. We left without eating. I went to a first watch location in South Carolina and absolutely loved it so went here thinking that it would be a similar experience. I was extremely wrong. The wait was super long. We put our name on the list online and it said a 35 to 50 minute wait. When we got there it had already been 30 minutes and they told us it would be an additional 30 minutes so in total it was an hour wait. Also, when I walked in, I got the vibe that the hostess was stressed out because she did not even look at me. She was really frazzled and looking down at her iPad and didn't even notice that there was a customer standing right in front of her. It actually started to get very awkward because she wasn't looking up at all. Note to the business to have someone who is greeting customers and actively attending to them when they walk in even if it is just put their name on the list or give them an update on where they they are in line. Once we finally got seated we placed our order, and our order came out in batches. Our waters took a little bit of time to come out. Then there was another round probably 10 min later with the rest of the drinks.!Thankfully, we did get an order of pancakes out pretty quickly. The rest of the food took a little bit of extra time to come out after that. Our waitress was really friendly so that was a plus and she was super attentive. As far as the food goes, I would say that it was lacking in flavor and just didn't seem to hit the spot for any of the items that we ordered. I ordered the egg sandwich, blueberry pancakes, and the watermelon wake me up juice. The pancakes were ok, but the syrup was not warm syrup and even though we ordered blueberry pancakes it didn't seem to have a lot of blueberry flavor. Also, The egg sandwich probably should've come with a different type of cheese because it tasted super bland with just the avocado egg and cheese. I like coming to FW because I love how light their waffles are!!! I came to this location one day because I was craving one. The inside was fairly clean. I came on a Sunday so it was crowded, but I joined the waitlist before heading there so that made my wait pretty short. The server was friendly but brief in her interactions, I guess because it was a busy time. The food was fine, but wasn't very hot. The sausage was lukewarm and the butter just sort of sat smeared on my waffle and never melted into it, even though it was warm. This was my first time going to First Watch. Restaurant was packed on a Sunday but service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. If they are busy, they will tell you a 30-50 min wait then add another 30 to it, then seat you 30 mins to closing, then give you some flash cooked but still frozen food. One of the hostess' raised her voice at me for just asking why I was taken off the waiting list when I was waiting for an hour and a half. This is the only dish I have tried from First Watch altogether. This dish has great flavor but seems to vary how long the potatoes are cooked. It's a hearty meal to have and they seem to be a popular breakfast spot, mainly at this location it seems. From what I remember the service is good but I haven't had a dine-in experience since Covid-19 came and "subsided" or doesn't get reported anymore.
