Was not impressed with my return visit to the Waffle House in Georgia. 20 years ago we had awful service and it was slightly better, likely because of my ignorance of grits being rectified after the first time I asked what grits were and was shunned by the entire establishment. Seriously though, the service was very inconsistent bringing out our meals at different times and my brother never got to eat as we had all finished by the time our waitress came back to the floor and we were able to ask if his meal was coming at which point they offered to wrap it up to go...breakfast isn't exactly a to go quality meal by the time you're able to eat it so he declined. Outside of the establishment being empty aside from our table and service lacking, the food was not awful but still, breakfast is not difficult and to say it was not awful means it's not on the list of places to seek out in the future. I was looking for redemption and I got it so if it's the only place open, I'd stop but anticipate a lengthy visit and remember to keep my order simple. The table wasn't even clean with long hairs and no silverware provided but thankfully we had requested utensils upon receiving our drinks prior to our meals arriving. read more

This is a follow-up to Paul D's report, to be fair, he got the location wrong. He was actually at the location on the east-west connector. Like he said, he was half-awake. I also believe it was a triple hashbrowns all the way less the gravy. But we're splitting hairs here. Either way it was a pile of greasy potato goodness covered in everything (except the aforementioned gravy, of course). Don't know why the contents of the order was relevant to the story because the food wasn't the issue, it was more about having to pay 20% more. It's worth the 20% to be able to eat in your house and not make the sprint to the Waffle House restroom mid-meal. $5.00 to do the doo at home? Sounds like a bargain to me. I was more concerned about how Mr. D ranted and raved about a $5.00 charge to his bill. Being a rather portly fellow with what is clearly not a healthy diet, there was concern among the patronage that he might go into cardiac arrest with all the hand waving and raised voice. Look, we all go to the WH from time to time. It's not great food but it is what it is. More important, tt's served by people who, quite frankly, earned that $5.00 and then some having to put up with Chubby Customers such as Mr. D. So, I left her a 10 Spot on my way out. I would hate to see this guy try to collect on a tire warranty because he got 49,000 miles from a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty. I hope Paul D. finds Jesus and some peace in his life. Went to Waffle House today for lunch after I left the gym and as usual it was delicious and inexpensive as usual, this location has great management and good and friendly workers.. First off, our server Kayla greeted us with how tired she was and was saying how her legs are "trying to move as fast as she can" but she doesn't have "anymore pep in her step." I should've left then. I don't know about here, but in California that is something you should not say as a customer service worker. Second, when I received my hash browns they were undercooked. We asked if I can get them crispier and she said the grill is slowing down on her so she can't. A slow or malfunctioning grill is something that should've been mentioned before. I wouldn't have eaten there. Also, when she served our food, she was complaining about how hungry she was. I couldn't stomach the hash browns so I didn't eat it. I just heard her complaining the whole time and right before she asked if my boyfriend needed a refill for his soda, she said "I don't want to do this." I think she was referring to cleaning off the tables. Luckily, I know what it's like to work in customer service so I gave more than a 20% tip. Overall, it was a horrible experience that put a damper in my day because I was so looking forward to finally eating at a Waffle House. read more

This is another Waffle House. There's nothing different about this one, they serve the exact same stuff as the other places. The people who work here are friendly though. With their breakfasts, they have another option for their breads: biscuits. Normally, you had the choice of toast or raisin toast. Now they have biscuits. I tried it. It's a pretty bad biscuit. It tasted like frozen Eggo waffles. The grits and eggs here taste good. The cook who prepared the eggs knew how to cook them over medium. The whites were nice and firm, and the yolk was nice and runny. That cook really mastered the art of cooking eggs over medium. Also, I liked their grits. It wasn't lumpy, too thick, or too runny. The texture and flavor seemed spot on. I also tried the pecan waffles for the first time. It's just waffles with pecan in them. It tasted fine. I don't know if I'll get it again. The best meal at Waffle House is probably their hashbrowns all the way. And this location's version tasted pretty good. Just avoid the biscuits, and stick with the classic menu items. read more

Where do I begin....At the door where our soon to be server was dousing her cig (right at the door) or when she came in to bring our flatware hands unwashed (i went in the restroom and rinsed mine sure not to touch any parts of anything). I ultimately decided to order something I didn't need the fork, knife or spoon for. So much for my much needed morning cup of Joe. (Deep sigh). I ordered a biscuit sandwich sure that wouldn't require her touching it or me needing my fork or knife. Never dreamed she would sit my mentor's plate (who I was eating with) directly on top of my biscuit. I ate it sans the top half which to me was now contaminated with whatever germs may have been on the bottom of his plate. Halfway through the meal my mentor said 'I thought I ordered sausage'. We waited a bit. Was only one other customer in the restaurant (an Xfinity guy who never needed server during our visit) and at least five employees gathered at the other end of the restaurant. I eventually walked over and asked about his meat for his All American. She said oh right. One of the other employees said - you not gettin' the five second sausage are you?' And they commenced to talk about all the dropped meat and how other employees will cook it after it hits the floor. Heard a story about a whole slab of bacon that was dropped and cooked. Another about one of the employees dating fiascos where the b word and mf was loudly used. My mentor - much older and less skivy about germs wanted to take his sausage because they got there after he was finished his meal. Again I had to walk over and ask for a lil box for him. This was the first time in my almost 60 years of life I left ZERO tip. Even for horrible service I will leave 10% versus 20, but horrible service and having to listen to vulgarity before sunrise was too much. I was going to call back for a manager but one of the sitting group possibly being a manager would have been way way too much. This is one of those situations where zero stars would have been appropriate but I DID eat my half biscuit so there is that. I usually won't post anything negative as it relates to the businesses within the community I love and lived for over 30 years but today makes the exception. Last night around 12:30a; I walked into my local Waffle House and was never greeted after 10 minutes of standing in the building. I'm sure you're wondering why I'm standing waiting when there is a seat yourself Policy... well, with only 6 people in the restaurant eating, all the remaining tables and booths were piled up with dirty dishes. Ashley (the server) then states, we can not serve you right now, because we are busy and we are only taking to go orders. I asked Ashley was it because she didn't want to clean off any of these tables? There's two servers and a cook, which is pretty standard at night with 6 people eating. Ashely went on to say she was busy and walked off. As she's walking off, she audibly states, "This is the second MUTHAFUCKA who.... by this time I had cut her off in mid sentenced to question whether she was referencing me as a MF? After that moment, I can't really recall what transpired as I completely blacked out!!! I was and still in complete shock how this employee of Waffle House could possible think she could call frequent paying customers a MF and think it was ok. I'm also uncertain as to how anyone in management thinks it's ok to allow this place of business to become so nasty during the shift. I am a restaurant owner so I understand the operation. Totally not acceptable!!! This complaint is being escalated. It's sad because the other neighborhood Waffle House on City View/ Six Flags Dr just closed due to similar poor operations!!! Management needs to step in before this newly renovated Waffle House ends up on the list of surplus stores for sale. For clarity, there were 6 people already eating and every other available seat or table had dishes piled up on them. The next morning, Alex, the new manager states, the numbers don't reflect that it was busy for you to have experienced this. He said he would review the camera footage.... Yesterday morning we woke up and decided to forgo making breakfast and decided to do take-out at Waffle House - East-West Connector. The order was pretty simple, Double Hash Browns (all the way) and a Double Hamburger with a side of Hash Browns and 2 Large Soft Drinks. Once the order was ready I was presented with a "non-itemized bill" for $30. Being still half awake I just swiped my card and tipped $5. I grabbed the bag and started walking out the door, and then it hit me, $35!! for Waffle House? I stopped and turned around and went back to the server and asked what made up a $30 bill?? A little startled at my request she reluctantly showed me the itemized bill, and I was shown the 20% surcharge!! It was $5 of the total bill. I asked her how much she earned from the surcharge and she responded I get "1/2." That is okay with me but the fact she presented me with a "non-itemized" bill and I foolishly added another $5 to the total bill means she took for a 30% tip!! Look, I know these servers work hard but to deliberately scam a customer makes Waffle House a totally UNETHICAL business!! What has happened to the great Atlanta-based institution?? I guess what seems to be the society norm now of LYING, CHEATING AND STEALING!! Next time, we will just go to McDonalds on Floyd Rd. We know what to expect! read more

Great customer service the staff is friendly and professional. The menu is pretty much the same in any WH but it's the service that makes the difference. Once I was waiting on my take out order and just people watching and someone had just finished their meal and left. Unbeknown to anyone but they dropped some money. As soon as they started to cleanup the tables they saw this large amount of money and it wasn't a tip. Immediately the WH staffer ran out to catch the elderly couple before they left the premises. Nobody really saw this except me and I thought how rare is that? And this will never be seen on TV or the net. But I did say to the host that was very commendable. My experience here was not pleasant. The restaurant is clean. BUT, when I ordered my food it was incorrect. I ordered a Texas bacon cheesesteak melt plate w/ my hash browns smothered and chunked. I received my plate with my hash browns smothered, chunked, and covered. I am lactose intolerant so I would never order any cheese. Then the waitress new it was wrong, and thought she was doing me a favor by bringing me the plate with cheese. Thereafter she brought me the correct order (I thought). Then I was about to put my mayo on my sandwich that had no bacon it (Texas Bacon Cheesesteak). This Waffle House is not the best to visit, for sure. The employees talked and laughed, which is to be expected (as crazy as that may sound), but these employees took it a wee bit too far. It took 25 minutes for me to get a tea refill. The food was okay as far as Waffle House goes. The grits were a bit lumpy. I'm usually a little squeamish about eating at WF but this one was on point. Maybe it was because I was really hungry and hadn't eaten anything all day. It was 9pm and my stomach started to growl and I really didn't feel like going to bed hungry that night. I woke my bf up from a long nap and asked him if he was hungry lol no he wasn't hungry, he was sleepy but he came with me anyway. I ordered the All-Star and gave him my bacon as I always do. If we order from WF to go, by the time we get home the food is cold, this time it wasn't. It could have been our fault the first couple of times because we called it in. This time we went to order at the counter. The eggs were still hot, the waffle was on point, the hashbrowns were, eh...satisfying I suppose. It got the job done. You have a choice between reg toast or raisin. I usually get white and never eat it. This time I got raisin and didn't eat that either. I guess I just get it for the hell of it. This time I wanted to switch it up a bit. I just realized how wasteful that is...I feel bad now and prob wont do that again. Great, now all I can see playing in my head are the stop hunger commercials...and makes me feel like a horrible human being for even thinking that I can't go to bed hungry. Our server was somewhat inept, but that's forgivable, it was late at night. But after our food arrived (my eggs were undercooked), we had a roach crawl across our tabletop! EW!! This is the second time that I have ordered and my food wasn't right. There seems to be inconsistency with To go orders. Also the representatives are ghetto and very rude. We live less than 5 minutes away from this Waffle House. I should not have to go to a different location farther away to get good, descent customer service. Earlier this week I ordered a party melt extra well done. It wasn't even well. Tonight I ordered a patty melt with extra pickles , but there weren't any pickles added to the patty melt at all. Also my husband ordered the All-Star meal. He clearly said " eggs well with NO cheese at all. I called twice after we made it home and realized the food wasn't right. . The waitresses were rude. Not to mention that when we got there, my husband went inside to order. I walked in a few minutes afterwards To go to the restroom,someone spoke. I said "hi" And afterwards they were laughing. Now I don't know if they were laughing at me, but it seemed rude. The cook for our food wrong because young lady he thought was attractive walked in. He ordered her food before our order was taken.
