I've been a frequent Panera patron for many years now, if I have a chance I would prefer to stop here over other chain coffee spots. This location however, is pretty awful. this is my second time to visit and definitely that last. The register workers are fine, its the food runners/floaters/makers of food that seem to really hate their job, as the portioning/attitude here is quite ridiculous. I ordered a Cha latte that came in a medium cup but the actual amount couldn't fill up a small cup. It was also not made correct. When I tried to return the chip they give with your order on it, b/c they failed to get it the first time, I was yelled at from across the store by a food runner and told unless I had a food order that I needed to have a seat! I'm a grown ass man trying to do your job, not a kid. So you give me half of what I order, I do your job, and you yell at me/tell me to sit?! Not to mention when I was brought my bagel that I ordered later, it was dropped on my table as if it was on fire and before I even had to say thanks, the food runner was gone, this place feels more like a Dennys than a Panera. read more

For now I'll just visit you as much as I possibly can! The Chicken Chipotle sandwich makes my taste buds do back flips. Well they are better than Subway & worth the prices! I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I ordered the Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich! Nice small chunks of chicken, thinly sliced, very thinly sliced almonds, believe me! The chicken had some sauce or dressing, it wasn't mayo, the menu reads, special dressing, that was good! You need a moist sandwich, so you won't choke! It also had small bits of celery and seedless grapes! It had the perfect taste of sweetness with no salt or acidity. The tomatoes were even good, and I hate tomatoes! It was served between 2 slices of Sesame Semolina Bread, that was also great! You can order a whole or half of a sandwich, I had the whole with a side of chips. I need to come back and try another sandwich, and for you healthy people, the chicken they use has no antibiotics! I met a friend here for lunch several weeks ago, and it was fabulous! My history with Panera was limited to a breakfast pastry several months ago, so my first time ordering a meal. It was pretty busy when we arrived, but the staff was efficient at getting the customers moved through. The gentlemen that served me was absolutely top notch! His station was at the far end of the counter--furthest from the end of the line. He came around to where I could see him and motioned that he was ready to assist me. Professionalism in spades. Well dressed, tidy, presentable, great manner---didn't feel like I was eating at a fast food place at all. I was incredibly impressed. Their drink station isn't readily visible from the counter, so he made a point of giving us a heads up about where it was. The same staff member brought our food to us, and we got to enjoy his professional service again. Seriously, folks. Food service members everywhere could take lessons. I ordered the Roasted Turkey and Cranberry Flatbread. Wow. Granted, I don't eat out very often at all, but this was absolutely heavenly! It was so good, I want to go back and get it again. I had an overall great experience. I ordered through the fast lane kiosk which was very simple and efficient since I was able to skip the long line. I was served my food within 3 minutes and ordered the flatbread Mediterranean. It was delicious but my only complaint is the serving portion was pretty small. We've always had a great experience with the people and food at this Panera Bread location. My wife and I visit the restaurant about once a month whether it be for take out or dine in. The food is always fresh and very tasty. My only gripe is the cost for the amount of food you are served. I love the roast beef sandwich but I usually opt for the Italian combo since it is a bigger sandwich. We normally get the pick 2 which for us always includes the Greek salad. We also get a couple sides of dressing for dipping the baguette. The Panera 'card' is also beneficial once you're eligible for a free cookie or a dollar off here and there - you're going to get what you came for anyway so may as well have the card to easy the 'pain at the pump' occasionally.. read more

I was nearing the end of my ancient grain salad when I noticed that one of the "grains" looked different, maybe as if it had sprouted. As I raised my fork, I realized the sprouts resembled wings. I did a double take and upon examination noticed that it also had eyes. A small dead moth had almost made it into my mouth! I informed a passing employee who was appropriately shocked and asked how I had paid (by credit card). He took my bowl and credit card and promptly returned with a refund receipt and apology. However I had lost my appetite and was not able to finish my soup nor take advantage of the free pastry offered to me. Oh Panera, why did you get my chicken thai salad wrong? I mean corn and beans in my hair salad make no sense. I rate it four start because I'm addicted to this salad. That's all I go here for. Not a good experience today at all. Stopped in at 7;30 to get my co-worker and myself two breakfast sandwiches to-go. Ordering went smoothly. No lines when I walked in at all. I waited about 10 minutes and Izzy said my sandwiches would be "right out" He said they had to make eggs. Maybe 5-7 minutes later he hands me a bag, I check it....one sandwich. Showed him my receipt and he apologized. He began making another sandwich. Then he realized they were out of bacon. I watched several guys walking around with clipboards as a line began to form up front. One of the guys with clipboards noticed the line and yelled to the back for another girl. Actually yelled and sounded really angry and rude. He then blew by me and asked if I had been helped. I knew this fool saw me waiting along time already. All of a sudden he is going to yell and act like he is doing something by asking if I have been helped. You know I have been helped. You know I have been waiting a long time. Meanwhile Izzy is running around trying to figure out how to get some bacon. I feel sorry for all the people that just walked in the door. So it's prime time busy breakfast time....there are no eggs, no bacon....one guy that seemed brand new making everything, a manager that has no idea how to make a good decision, step-in and take over getting the customers helped and I waited 37 minutes for two breakfast sandwiches. I really like coming here for lunch. The soups are always really yummy. The sandwiches are fabulous. I recently had the sun-dried tomato/mozzarella panini....oh, I was so in heaven! In fact, I've had all the panini's and they are all excellent. This location is usually very hectic. Not only I had to wait 20 min for them to pour two soups to go, the lady who gave me my order was rude to me when I asked if I could get a second slice of bread for my second soup. I told her I couldn't add it to my order via the kiosk. She yelled at me with attitude "YES, YOU CAN!" and said that I'll have to pay additional 75 cents for it next time. I think Panera would get more 5 stars by folks if it wasn't a chain. Another reviewer described Panera as a "soul-less corporate chain", but I don't think that's necessarily fair to Panera. Just because a restaurant has such a good thing going that it's profitable to duplicate that good thing elsewhere, doesn't make it soul-less. I'm giving them 5 stars for being one of the most comfortable places to go in Austin to eat a good meal and get on pretty reliable WiFi. The soups are darn good, the tea has a good taste to it, and there are a lot of options. The pastries are pretty good, although I rarely partake. The bagels are good, too. I rarely order anything else so I can't speak to the sandwiches that folks seem to complain about on these reviews. Also - the staff are really friendly and are obviously trained to please customers. Paige gets props for being consistently friendly and on the ball and is a credit to the restaurant. I know that fast-casual restaurant jobs at chain restaurants are not long term careers necessarily, so I appreciate the consistent attempts to be pleasant and helpful by all of the staff even during the lunch rush. Very slow. Gave me a soggy sandwich with gross lettuce, the Mac and cheese was runny and shells were more hard. It's like they let my sandwich sit and get soggy, and forgot to make the Mac and cheese so they didn't cook it for that long. The mac and cheese here is to die for. I want to eat it everyday with every meal. So good! The Bacon Turkey Bravo was delicious. The tomato basil bread they use was so soft. It might change the way I make sandwiches for the rest of my life. Also, smoked gouda should be on all sandwiches forever. I've been to many Paneras and I've never been so displeased. When I ordered at the counter to go, the lady kindly let me know they would call my name. They have a shelf now for online orders so you can differentiate which is a to-go order while you're present and online orders. I waited 15 minutes while other people got their named called and after I asked where my order was, the man pointed to the shelf and scoffed. First of all, that is very unprofessional. I don't care if it's busy. I'll wait patiently for my order but don't make me feel like an idiot because YOU (the business) made a mistake. Whenever I order hot tea, the self-serve hot water is either cold, or has a coffee after-taste. Today the hot water is missing all together. The bathroom is old and dirty. The food is a toss-up--- sometimes it's just fine, but a few times the bread was stale. On the plus side, the automated kiosks make ordering fast and easy. My friend and I decided to stop in for a sandwich after shopping. There were not many customers and they were not busy. Several workers were doing busy work and ignored us. I was about ready to leave when finally someone walked two feet and asked us what we wanted. We ordered. When our order came, the person slammed the plates down and when my companion asked for extra butter, he grunted and left. He did return with the butter. The sandwiches were put together by a two year old. All lumped together and very sloppy. Was not impressed. Way overpriced. Don't think I will return. There are better places to spend my money.
