Probably one of the worst sub sandwiches I've ever eaten. I got the chicken melt. First of all the bread was processed and stale. Do you guys buy it from Sam's? The chicken was gross, overcooked and dry! And what's the deal with all the salt? Over salting food is never good unless you're trying to hide something. In this case, overcooked dried out gross chicken. Who was the brainchild they decided to put American cheese instead of real cheese. I guarantee they're not from New Jersey. When you advertise peppers on a melt, chicken or beef, that usually indicates a spicy pepper, a ground cherry pepper, or a hot pepper. But not at Jersey Mike's they apparently think a overcooked piece of bell pepper constitutes a pepper!I've never eaten at a Jersey Mike's before and I don't believe I ever will again. I received brisk service from the employees behind the counter. However, the music was louder than their voices, so both the customers before me and I had to ask them to repeat themselves.  The vegetables and bread were fresh.  They made my sub to my specification. I appreciated that I was not asked if I wanted bacon on my Club Sub (as other locations have), since it's part of the sandwich. Other than the loud music, the two employees I encountered were simply not engaged. I don't know if they were tired, stressed, or what. But communicating was difficult.  I felt I was practically a bother when I had to ask them to repeat themselves. That's poor customer service. read more

Terrible! I requested no oil and dressing on sandwich and when it was delivered it was soggy! The lettuce was brown. Very disappointed with how much it cost me and I was in meeting all day and hadn't eaten anything up until my soggy sandwich arrived. Even then I had to peel off bread and removed the brown lettuce and just ate the turkey and cheese. Great subs and flexible with orders. Only area of improvement is managing the system of customization for sandwiches. We order subs with simple changes (no onion, or only onion, things like that) and out of the two times we have been to this location, 2/3 of our subs weren't correct each time. I never understand how their subs could be made better than other sub places. I went for the first time this week and was pleasantly surprised. The three people working were so friendly and when I said I wanted a cheesesteak, the cashier recommended the 43. I'm glad I went with his recommendation. Food on the cheap. Good sandwiches with a good variety. The hot meatball is amazing. I also like the basic ham and cheese. You order then walk down the line and pick your toppings. Not as many bread choices as Subway, but it's all very fresh and it's real deli style where you can watch them slice the meat, no prepackaged stuff here. I'm only there at the lunch hour and have not experienced the poor service some others complained about. They work fast and the line backs up if you are in the 12 pm - 1:30 pm lunch period as there are so many businesses around there who come here for lunch, but they have always been attentive to me. Absolute worst service ever today. Ordered online, was told it would be ready at 11:45. At 12:15 I had to pitch a fit to get my sandwiches. Meanwhile at least 30 people walked in, ordered their food and were handed their food while my overdue online and pre-paid order hung ignored (along with several others). Why/ how this could be allowed to happen is beyond me. And this was after me asking about my order a couple of times before I pitched a fit. Very poor management. Apparently, if they have your money, they just put you at the end of the line to serve the people walking in and standing in front of them. Absolutely no reason this should happen. And, very rude employees on top of it. Basically told me "too bad", go somewhere else if you can't wait, we are busy! Ridiculous and should not be tolerated. read more

Before go to movie theater, we decided to pick some food quick. So we drove to Jersey Mile's subs next to Gold Smith. There is a big map in the store showing it's originally from New Jersey. Today's lunch was a back-up plan to Jason's Deli since it had an atrociously long line. We were tempted by Promise pizza but decided to go to Jersey Mike's instead. So, for those of you who've never been there. This place is a smallish sandwich joint in a strip mall. It's shotgun styled and a tight fit when the place is full. There's really only about 8 or so tables (4 toppers usually) and a window bar area for 4 more people. A lot of people tend to order to go. So anyhow - franchise chain sandwich place that does hot (typical meatball, philly etc) or cold (ham, turkey, cappicuolo, proscuittini, etc) Jersey-style (get it?) sandwiches. Best part of the sandwich is that you can watch them freshly cut the cheese and meats onto your bread - that is before you tell them what you want. OR if you want it "Mike's Way" - with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, oil vinegar and spices. I like it Mike's Way albeit it makes it a little bit of a mess to eat. Then chips and a drink completes the combo. By the way - sandwiches come in Mini's (about 6 inches), Regulars (half a loaf - about a foot long) and Giants (the whole freaking loaf). Now, I made the mistake of ordering a Giant once when i wasn't paying attention. A Giant will easily feed two guys (or a family of four with smaller appetites). As for choices - I lean towards the turkey, super sub and the Italian. All in all it's a nice sub shop that adds a bit of variety to other sandwich joints. read more

She was really polite and cheerfully conversational. Was later in the evening not too far from closing. The sandwhich was great. I really like a good chicken Parmesan sub. And I really like one of their other locations. How can this go wrong, right? Well, it went wrong. There were two nice young ladies behind the counter who were friendly and obviously well intentioned. But sadly, neither the sub nor the restaurant delivered tonight. I ordered the same chicken Parmesan sub that I love at their Anderson Lane location. The chicken itself was hot and tasted the same. But that's where the similarities ended. The mozzarella/provolone cheese wasn't melted. The bread was room temperature. The marinara sauce was cool, as if it'd come straight from the refrigerator. And the hot piece of chicken was placed on top of all of this. It was like a bad version of the old McDonald's McDLT of yore where the hot side was hot and the cool side was cool, except the hot and cool were placed together immediately, creating a really bad sandwich that I should've sent back, except for being hungry. Combine that with every table in the restaurant being damp from being wiped with a wet rag, but not dried, and you have me skeptical at best. If I go back, it'll be to another location. read more

Called and wad told I would have to replace the order since it was thru grubHub. This has become my fallback lunch spot for when I can't decide what I REALLY want. It's close to my apartment., and convenient to wherever I'm headed at the time (usually the Target next door or the HEB down the street). I don't have a standard order, I just get whatever sounds good at the time. They slice the meat right in front of you... I can't think of another place that does that. That way, you know, without a doubt that it's fresh. Even if the sandwich is supposed to come with bacon, they always double check before they put it on... a BIG plus in my book. although I'm sure to specify beforehand that I want my sandwich without. Also, get it Mike's Way. It's a special mix of spices, oils, red wine vinegar, lettuce, tomato, and onions. Delicious! The people of Jersey Mike's are craftsmen. You can also order your sandwich in one of three sizes, perfect for me, because I often go by myself and seldom eat leftovers. You can usually get your sandwich in a matter of minutes, perfect if you're taking it to go. You can also call in your order ahead of time and they'll apparently have it ready for you when you arrive... something I've never tried, myself. The restaurant itself is tiny, with maybe 10 tables and some window seating... but it's always clean. I'm pretty sure the employees, when they aren't slicing your meat (teehee) are cleaning the dining area. The only times I've seen it in disarray was when they were in the middle of a lunch rush or way understaffed, which, sadly seems to happen a little too often. I'll continue to visit. Went to Jersey Mike's with a mild hangover and after about 5 hours of yard work that left me weak in the knees. And not in a good way. Why someone would subject themselves to 5 hours of yard work if they have a mild hangover is something for the psychiatrists to explore as it baffles this common mind. As to the accuracy and validity of this review, I would just remind you that I was both mentally and physically compromised, so it is possible that I could have and would have found most anything edible. That being said, I still think Jersey Mike's has the best subs among its competition, which I would consider to be Thundercloud, Delaware, and, of course, the omnipresent Subway - by far. While the bread is slightly unimaginative, it is fresh and tasty enough. The clincher is the meat and cheese which the cheerful and informative Jersey Mikes and Mikettes slice for you off one of those big deli slicer machines as you order it. This is not pre-sliced meat being kept alive only by the graces of the translucent plastic tub in which it sits, which floats in a sea of half-melted ice. And it isn't being sparingly doled out by unenthusiastic, robotic teens (with all due respect to teens everywhere, of which I have co-produced two myself - but for some reason the employees at every Subway I have ever been to seem to be as indifferent as the iceberg lettuce shreds that they pile on my sandwich). So if you are thinking about grabbing a sub from one of the places I listed, I recommend that you go check out Jersey Mike's. Best of that bunch. read more

Sandwich shops really bring out the cheap in me. The idea of commissioning someone to layer cold stuff between bread and then wrapping it up for my convenient consumption just seems daft. If I provide the ingredients and you provide one arm for assembly, I guarantee we would enjoy a sandwich cheaper and better than any franchise fare out there. The exception is hot subs, because now they're cooking, and what we get is as good as they want. My favorite thing here is their "Famous Philly" cheese steak, and although it's not something I would die for, I'd seriously consider taking a minor scrape or small bruise for its cause. It's hot and juicy and cheesy with the tang of grilled onions magically layered between soft but crunchy bread. I have to stop myself from wolfing and howling. This particular Jersey Mike's appears to have thirty-eight chairs among nine seating areas, which may or may not be an encumbrance to you when it's crowded. A regular cheese steak, chips, and drink will cost you $8.60; if there's two of you, split a giant cheese steak, get two chips & drinks, whip out $17, and toss the difference in the tip can. Same amount of food, a tad less money, and everyone is a little ahead. read more

The food is great here. The reason they are getting 1 star is because the cash register operator lifted our card when we were paying. He decided to keep it after we payed at the register. Looks like he went next door to the liquor store for several hundred dollars in alcohol then down to Walmart for some phone cards before we realized he never gave the card back. I started getting sandwiches from Jersey Mikes on Sundays during football season this year because the Delaware decided to get chincy on the Sunday special (btw, it does not say anywhere that the "buy one get one free cheesesteak special" is limited to one per person....boooo. I mean, I am buying for four different people. They all gave me their cash separately, why doesn't that count?). Anyway, Jersey Mikes makes a rockin sandwich. You have to get the #13 (the italian), mike's way, of course (as stated below, that means onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices). You simply cannot put mayo on this sandwich--DON'T DO IT, PLEASE!! (I curse you mayo, and your little friend mustard too). I also have tried the Big Kahuna Cheesesteak--they add jalepenos to the original cheesesteak. All in all, the meat and veggies are super fresh and they taste goooood. Would have been five stars, but the bread, although it has good flavor, is too soft. I can't say I prefer this over Delaware, but I can say that it is on par, at least. In my continuing quest to find the sublime Italian sandwiches from my Pittsburgh-based childhood, I had to give a place with Jersey in the name a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Having the meats freshly sliced makes a big difference in flavor, and the "Mike's Way" option adds the spices and oil/vinegar to really tie the sandwich together (All the dude ever wanted was his rug back). I go to Jersey Mike's when I have to run errands in the 183/MoPac vortex - it's a welcome stop when I'm really hungry - when I've waited too long to eat lunch - because the sandwich is STACKED. It does make the meat overwhelm the rest of the flavors, but that's not a problem because the meat is fresh and tasty. Much better than you'd expect out of a national chain. read more
