Waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes just to order soup! Horrible management of the drive thru!

I will first start, I used to love Panera. We had one in our neighborhood in Virginia (super busy location). The service was great even if there was a line out the door. It was speedy and efficient. I am not sure what happened to the Bluffton location. It does not seem like employees are trained properly. I would close the drive through if the location/team cannot support it. I entered the drive through and then an excessive delay. The way it is designed, once in line, you can leave the line. When I finally got to order my food - no we cannot make the Ice Coffee (our espresso machine is broken). For the 2 salads I ordered (no, we are out of apples). I was in line about 25 minutes until I reached the food/pick up window. At that point, the employee shared that he is also doing the cooking and food prep. Hence my salads were not ready. I left and did not wait for my lunch to now be prepared. Overall, disappointing customer service. This location is not the same as to the Panera I loved in Virginia. read more

I love Panera but have grown to dislike it because of the service at this one in particular, on Fording Island. The slowest service, rude cashier, etc... Food is decent even though it takes triple the amount of time it usually does. read more

Horrible experience. First. DYLAN, the cashier, was extremely rude. Absolutely no manners. I paid for 2 large drinks and he handed me two small drinks and when I said I ordered larges, he knocked over the smalls, and then rudely gave me the larges. He did not say hello, welcome, thank you, nothing but eye rolls and slamming things. Second. DIRTIEST Panera I've ever been to. It wasn't even busy so the tables could have been wiped down. Love their food however this morning there was 1 car only. They had me waiting in the drive thru and once I placed my order I pulled up only for them to have my wait at the window. After that they tell me they don't have cookies anymore. I asked "you guys ran out? It's 10am" she said "no our baking schedule just changed" whatever that means. So yeah. The food is OK. Nothing special. Same menu all the time it seems. They seem to be Very consistent.

I have eaten Panera in many different locations and this was probably the first unpleasant visit that I have had at a Panera. While ordering, the cashier took a little bit to take our order and I had to repeat myself several times and that is okay, but it was the attitude in asking me was not pleasant. I felt like I was ordering at McDonalds. When our order was ready, I grabbed our food and realized my moms sandwich was a lot larger than we expected but it was not cut down the middle. It was like foot long size. As I waited up there for someone to give me eye contact without being rude and yelling may I have a knife, I was not successful in getting a knife or someone noticing me. A lady near us received the same sandwich my mom had and went to complain because her sandwich had hardly any chicken in it. Our sandwiches tasted great so I can't say the food tasted bad. I will not be coming back to this location and I hope that corporate sees these reviews and do some training at that location. read more

Located off HHI on the mainland, this Panera is like any other Panera. Its attractive because its located in the popular Tanger outlet, and its great to have a quick and healthier lunch while vacationing and shopping. The salads are super fresh and crunchy. Such a welcome after all the heavy meals while vacationing. read more

I ordered on door dash and almost two hours later after calling 3 times they finally answered and told me they were backed up while the dasher who had been waiting for over an hour said it wasn't busy. The dasher watched them actively avoid picking up the phone when I called and when they did finally answer they were rude and they refused to update me on the status of my order. A complete waste of my time and the delivery driver's time. I had to cancel the order. read more

Nothing like biting down into some lukewarm macaroni and cheese and to have a sandwich missing 1/7 of its ingredients. Pay good money you should expect good food. Panera, what happened? The Panera in Bluffton is disappointing. I have been in it twice recently and will not return to having to clean your own table to eat and the areas where you put plates and trays is overflowing and a mess. Plenty of employees there certainly it would not take long to keep tables and such clean. read more

Ms . Dedra... wow please give this lady a raise! And a promotion... She is literally the best thing that has happened to this location... a few days ago my husband came over to Bluffton to feed a craving of mine... and well after almost 2 hours of travel to and from this location he gets home.. and it's a completely WRONG order.. I call and speak with Dedra and she was absolutely wonderful even offered to BRING ME my order because we live in the same order... that's TRUE dedication and customer service... unfortunately we were heading out of the area when I called and wasn't able to get my order fixed.. fast forward today we were finally able to get back to Bluffton area and Dedra remade my order and refunded us... Absolutely wonderful woman and probably the only reason why I'll be back to this location as I've always had issues with orders being wrong here. Thanks again Dedra you're amazing. read more

Panera Bread on Fording Island Road in Bluffton is a well managed Panera location that is a good stop for breakfast or any time of the day. I really like the location and the outdoor space that they have available here. There is plenty of space to have a meeting or get some work done. read more

Ordered delivery through Door-dash. I ordered chicken noodle soup and I got nothing but salty broth with one piece of carrot and one noodle. The chicken salad had lots of lettuce and maybe a teaspoon of chicken salad. It was the worse. So disappointed as they used to be so good. Won't be eating from there again. So sad. read more

Management is the absolute worst here. Went in and saw employees trying their best with what they're dealing with. I asked where the manager was I was told they left early? My Mac and cheese was cold and my frozen lemonade was practically watered down the second it was handed to me. We visited after an energetic shopping trip, so my party of four was starving and looking forward to Panera deliciousness. My pick 2 of a Green Goddess Cobb with Chicken and a cup of Creamy Tomato Soup was beyond my expectations. It arrived quickly and was almost too pretty to eat. In fact, everyone at the table was well satisfied with their meal. Unfortunately, the snake in our garden was the fact that 60% of the tables were dirty and the floors were littered with food, paper and refuse. Because one of us is wheelchair bound, we started with accessible tables and in failing to find a clean one, the group of us went further afield. It took a few minutes before we found a table that passed muster. Most disappointing was the fact that no one did any cleanup during the 45-1hr we dined in. If we'd had taken our orders "to go", this review would have been close to five stars, but having the dining room in such disarray (and for such an extended period) made it what it is. read more

You would usually think that Panera is a delightful safe space to grab a bite right? Well not this Panera. I walked in with 6 friends, when we walked in we discovered that we were the only customers, and soon found out why. They took our orders but treated us like they weren't getting payed a dime. I mentioned how we were the only customers right? well it sure didn't feel like it because our order took approximately 30-40 minutes, FOR JUST SIX PEOPLE. The ambiance in that Panera was depressing and slow, it made me want to fire them all just to hire new workers. I asked for a toasted bagel with cream cheese spread, they did not in-fact toast the bagel, but just warmed it up for 15 seconds, not only did they just WARM UP my bagel, they gave me the smallest portion of cream cheese that even an infant below 3 could devour in just 30 seconds. Right after I uncovered the truth about their warmed up bagels and small cream cheese portions, I asked for more cream cheese as a normal person looking for a fulfilling bagel would, and the employee laughed. I have been to this location twice. The first time, I went with my hubby and we ordered a sandwich and a pick-two with salad and mac-n-cheese. I am a regular of Panera and love their food, but hubby's only eaten at Panera a couple of times. (He likes the food but not the prices.) The service & quality of the food on our first visit to this location was a-ok. The second time I visited this location, I was on the hunt to pick up some bagels & cream cheese. The employees were super friendly and helpful. I got a nice assortment of bagels, despite the fact that it was almost lunchtime when I finally made it in to pickup breakfast! read more

Arrived before lunch to buy a sandwich for myself & soup for a friend. Two workers at the register were frazzled trying to toast a bagel! Had a gift card that did not process in the scanner & had to be manually entered. Bought a chicken salad sandwich to go. There was about a tablespoon of chicken salad on the sandwich. Pretty pitiful. Horrible experience at this Panera. I tried to order a teriyaki chicken bowl and was told they were "currently not making those." So I asked for a margherita flatbread, out of those. My husband wanted a bacon flatbread, actually they were completely out of flatbreads. So I got a soup for my son and a strawberry lemonade for myself. Went to the table, and a different guy came out and told me that they were out of strawberry lemonade! Took forever for a simple bowl of soup. I had to go and get it myself. Nothing about my order was correct or worth the money. Tuna sandwich which Marley had any tuna. I asked for the bread to be toasted and it wasn't. Kids sandwiches we wrong. Not worth the money nor the tip I left before I realized the order was jacked up. I told the young lady at the counter and she just looked at me with a blank stare and said ok. Recently moved from out of state. Pastries are over cooked and dry . We have had muffins, pastries and brownies. When you see it all lined up in the case you can tell that they have been over baked. I typically love Panera Bread but this location wasn't that great. The (male) cashier wasn't that friendly and it would have been nice for him to tell me my free smoothie expired the day I went. (The other locations tell you and are really nice since there is a survey you can fill out about your experience) Then again, it was also my bad for not paying attention. He could have been a lot nicer. The soup was ok and the bread that came along with it. The tuna salad was just ok and the bacon turkey bravo was decent. The gouda cheese was good. The mac and cheese was just ok (I only ordered it bc the 2 people in front of me ordered it too) I asked the cashier what he thought and he was pretty vague. Good place for sandwiches, salads, or soup. The menu selection has a seasonal choice and they have a nice bakery with pastries, scones, cookies and more. I like the Fuji Apple Chicken salad, nice serving with dried apples, pecans, red onion, blue cheese served over dressed greens. The sandwiches are tasty, but kind of over priced. The soups are really good, as I enjoy the chili the most. This location is a decent size, with outdoor seating. Service is ok, basic service. This store is so poorly managed. Waited 25 minutes for food when the cafe was not busy. Two people who arrived after me with a larger order received their food ahead of me. When I questioned the problem; the person behind the counter was very off-putting, in other words no customer service. No explanation for the delay...zip!!! I still enjoy the food and since this PB is the only one around I will be returning. However this store needs to be better organized, cleaner, friendlier and better managed. Normally the cashiers at this Panera are friendly. Today was NOT that day, neither was two days ago. The person waiting on me glared at me and threw the pastry on the plate. Two days ago this same person said there's no light roast coffee which was evident since the urn was missing so I said there's no dark roast or decaffeinated either..those urns are empty. She said she'd make dark roast and walked off. I waited 30 minutes for the coffee to brew. Then went to add cream but there was none. She didn't care.
