Panera is good. Love the broccoli chedder soup in a bread bowl. Since I've changed my eating habits, I no longer frequent here. But, it is delicious if you want to act healthy but eat fatty. read more

I was super hungry yesterday and only had a little time to stop for food. I hardly ever eat fast food. The only place that seemed at all inspiring was Panera. Even though I am gluten free I decided to stop anyway hoping they'd have something for me. I was super impressed the the grain bowl that I ordered. I chose to have the hummus left off. They were super accommodating to my dietary needs and I have to say the meal was actually REALLY good. The rice and quinoa was cooked all the way through (not always the case at places like this), the flavors and quality of the produce chosen was excellent. I would totally come in again if I'm in the area. My only disappointment was that their forks and spoons were plastic and not made from renewable sources. read more

From the second I placed the order, Karen was on the ball checking to make sure the order was correct, assuring it was ready on time for my meeting, and she even baked a fresh batch of cookies for us! I come from St. Louis, home of the original Panera Bread (the St. Louis Bread Company). I enjoyed seeing Panera Breads spring up all around the country as the restaurant chain grew in popularity. However, each time I go to Panera, the food seems worse. The basic line of cafe sandwiches has gotten smaller and less satisfying. All the good sandwiches are now premium, or signature, or premium signature, or some other denomination that means it will cost more money. Things I like: * Fast service * Bagels * Seating * Mac n Cheese * Roasted turkey artichoke sandwich Things I used to like: * Sierra Turkey Sandwich (Less turkey, nearly no onions, nearly no chipotle mayo) * Frontega Chicken Sandwich (Half the size, half the ingredients, and I once received a sandwich with sliced deli meat instead of the classic chunks, which was disappointing) Things I don't like: * Most sandwiches * All soups * Increased prices Definitely prefer Chipotle, which is approximately 30 feet away. read more

Delicious food. Friendly service. Warm fire. I like to get bagels and a blueberry muffin on Saturday. Wish it opened at 6:30 am on Saturday.

I met a friend for coffee this morning and a little something sweet! The coffee is always fresh and hot and you can refill your cup if needed. The cinnamon swirl roll is fantastic. It is quite large and great to share as I'm sure the calories are considerable! We sat by the fireplace in a relaxed open environment and it was great. Everytime I come here the coffee is out and it takes them over 15min to make more. I'm finished with my meal by then. I dont understand why they wait till its completely empty to make more. read more

Came in for a breakfast Panini and both machines were broke. This was quite a bummer. So they said that they could toast my bread. I ordered the sandwich with NO bread just the egg meat and cheese. When i went to the counter to pick it up they put it on bread. When i told the young man behind the counter he told me " How orders it without Bread". Very poor customer service. read more

I recently called ahead to over the Onion soup bread bowl. I asked if 20 minutes was doable and told it was. However when I got there, it was like I never placed the order. They were more than willing to take my money and then I waited...and waited...and waited another 20 minutes. While the soup was very good (though highly salted), I discovered when I got home that they neglected to include the chips and somehow the sale did not register on my Panera card. Every time I go to any Panera regardless of what I order I end up getting extremely sick and I'm not quite sure why. The most recent time I went to this Panera I just got a simple coffee drink and ended up getting sick. The time before that I got the mediterranean sandwich. Besides not tasting as good as I had imagined (the hummus and veggies sandwich at Cosi is 1000 times better), the portion was pretty small for the price AND it made me sick. So yeah, I don't recommend. read more

Panera can be really hit or miss, even this location. That being said, maybe they're under new management, I don't know, but the last 2 times we were here the food was really fresh, and everything was delicious. They also either got new utensils, or stated washing them differently because they didn't have the water stains on them that always make utensils look dirty. I really hope this consistency continues. read more

Just sloppy and inconsistent. They can't ever get it right. Ingredients missing from sandwiches, sloppily assembled sandwiches, etc. .. Once, I took a cellphone picture of my friends while waiting in line and was told by a young woman at the counter that photography was not allowed. Even if this was a policy highlighted during training, which I doubt it was, is admonishing someone publicly necessary? Rasputin makes sense to this person. read more

Although I'm not a big fan of most franchise restaurants in general, when you eat out a lot, the pursuit of variety necessitates frequenting them from time to time. We have visited several different Panera franchise locations and found the one thing they have in common is inconsistency. This with regard to both the quality of the food and its preparation. Sometimes both are good. Other times one or the other is not and occasionally both are poor. Today at this location the onions in my panini sandwich were so strong (probably old) that I took them out to keep from ruining the taste and the chicken in my wife's Frontega Chicken panini half sandwich was cool as was the cheese. She said the other half of the combo, which was a cup of onion soup was delicious. Although quick and inexpensive I would suggest the alternative of finding a non-franchise local restaurant with a similar type menu unless you're just out for a coffee and a pastry. read more

Extremely poor customer service. My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant today and I ordered a lemonade and coffee and my girlfriend ordered the steak salad and a regular-sized iced tea. After ordering, the cashier told us that the lemonade would be out with the order and offered us a cup for the coffee and a very small cup, what is normally given if you order tap water. My girlfriend said, "I ordered a regular size iced tea." The cashier explained that they were all out of regular cups, but the refills are free, so that makes up for it. When the order came out, the woman behind the counter, Tanja, offered me the same minuscule-sized cup of lemonade, with no ice. I handed it back and asked for a regular sized cup with ice. Tanja explained they had no regular sized cups, but that I was getting the same amount of lemonade that I would in a regular sized cup because she hadn't put ice in it. I said I didn't want warm lemonade and she agreed to put the lemonade in a large cup with ice. She proceeded to half fill a large cup with ice and then pour the tiny cup of lemonade over it. The entire large cup was only a little more than half full. She put the cover on it and handed it to me at which point I asked her to fill it up. She said "No, this is what you get." I was shocked, and told her I wanted more lemonade, at which point my girlfriend walked over and asked me what was wrong. When I told her what was happening, she asked Tanja to just fill it up. Tanja again said "No," this time with a smirk. My girlfriend said "What?" and Tanja handed her the lemonade and said "This is what you get." My girlfriend asked the woman "Are you kidding me? He wants a little more lemonade, just give it to him. What is the big deal?" Now, it was clearly a tug of war. Again, Tanja said "No," and I said "Just return it then, I don't even want it." Finally, at that point, Tanja filled up the lemonade, handed it to us again with a sly smirk, and said, "Here." Although my girlfriend said the steak salad was good, we had both lost our appetites and quickly left. Very very bad customer service. read more

Very very nice customer service. From the moment I entered the store I was treated with a smiling face and a may I take your order sir? I decided on the take two grilled cheese and tomato soup (yes basic but with the cold..) it was delicious. The tables, chairs and floors were clean and completely free of previous patrons crumbs and the like. The food was good, the service was wonderful and the environment was relaxing. No need to leave a star for service, courtesy or management. The manager Juliette was rude and downright obnoxious . We overheard her talking about other employees while she sat next to us. Using profanity and conferring with a younger associate, no professionalism in this place. The staff changes daily and we refuse to eat at the Canton location, rather go to Torrington. Good luck with you ever-changing staff, and mediocre food....thank god for the new medics food restaurant opening soon across the way. read more

I actually go here often because my daughter likes the chicken soup. Otherwise, the real attraction to this place is the baked goods that are always tasty and fresh. I love their M n M sugar cookies, their cheese pastries, and their chocolate chip cookies, but any of their baked goods are great. The food here tends to be hearty and healthy seeming, but not necessarily delicious. Everything comes with chips, apple or a slice of french bread which I usually end up throwing out. Around meal times it gets very crowded, and with the assembly line way of doing things, you can end up waiting for a while to get your food. Tea isn't that great--they give you a cup of hot water and tell you to go find the tea bag. When you can get a first class cup of tea across the street at Barnes and Noble, that's pretty disappointing. The restaurant itself tends to be pretty dirty and to accumulate dirty dishes at the stations where you drop off your stuff after you are done. There always seems to be a "help wanted" sign outside the store, which leads me to believe that it isn't that well managed and the staff aren't very happy working there. Not my top place to go in the area, but will get a solid and predictably acceptable meal if I do go. read more

Panera just lost a customer for life. We came with our toddler for dinner this week. I ordered the new turkey and kale panini. It was the most bland disgusting excuse for a panini I had ever eaten. I couldn't take more than one bite. The turkey was rubbery and looked like something that fell on the bathroom floor. There was maybe one small sprig of kale and a dollop of some gross looking cheese. Nasty! My husband's roast beef was equally bland and rubbery with a swipe of mayo and two arugula leaves. My son's Mac and cheese was cold. He wouldn't eat it. I am not in the habit of paying $30 for a poorly nuked Mac and cheese with two hideous sandwiches. This place has truly gone downhill. The kicker is when the staff came to clear our plates she didn't even ask why we hadn't eaten anything. Like they didn't even care. We will never return to any Panera frankly. Overpriced for what you get. I can make better sandwiches at home (we just happened to not have the time that night). Yuck! read more
