Stopped in recently for the first time for breakfast, with four friends. Had heard some really good things... Ample parking in a strip mall. The layout is like a wide corridor, w counter / stools on one side and tables opposite side. Greeted and seated by Dana, who was very capable, checking on us regularly. I had my usual eggs over CBH w rye toast. The food was good, but two things stood out. First, only one piece of toast. Second, consensus of the group was that the food was not as hot as it should have been. The CBH and potatoes (for those that had them) were warm, not hot. Still lacking heart It's been a while since I last tried this place. Having to loop back to all the previous spots, I really remember this place being very good and my rose-tinted glasses held on hope that maybe my experience from my last try was just a fluke. Server was nice, attentive and pleasant. Food came out after a short delay. Got my pics and took my bites. This last time was...lackluster. The egg was oily, the corned beef hash was bland and texture less. It very much reminded me of canned hash with some potatoes thrown in for good measure. And the hash brown potatoes were lightly seasoned and barely crispy. As a breakfast place, this is fine if you want a quantity of okay food. The food is sub par, and the service is terrible. I've given this restaurant many chances to improve. I live nearby, and this place is convenient, as I can walk there for a quick meal. Every time I go there, I leave disappointed. I will never go there again. It's the most overrated restaurant ever, even though nobody raves about it anyway. I went to POW on a Sunday & was pleasantly surprised, it was busy but not too busy, thank goodness, church just got out & I called & found out they close at 3 pm on Sunday. GREAT! Let's Eat! I have yet to be disappointed! I love the home fries! The toast is very good too. The menu is very vast & something for everyone. The inside is like a diner-ish looking place. I don't mind. It's clean. I see some folks didn't like the food, but honestly I think they got a new cook now. I have gone for lunch also and have had good luck there with sandwiches and salads. I however did not like the tuna. I really liked the chicken salad and potato salad. As far as making changes, I haven't had a problem there. read more

Used to be a huge fan of Catsup & Mustard. The place over on Main st in Manchester. Corey Wry had several restaurants in the area and they tended to be pretty good. I guess he sold this place and somehow things have gone a-wry. The French fries were good. Did I write home about them? Nay. Roast beef Ruben was overcooked, the sauerkraut didnt taste like sauerkraut, what was it?? Just weird. Staff was pleasant but appeared overwhelmed. First, let me start with the good. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. Now for the bad part, I ordered a traditional burger with bacon and potato salad as a side. French fries were an extra cost, and a Diet Coke. I was never asked how I would like my hamburger cooked. It took a little while for the food to come out, but that was OK. The burger was very well done and dry. Almost couldn't get it down. The potato salad was also dry and had no taste. Regarding the Diet Coke, the aftertaste was like I just finished medicine. I also had the opportunity to check out the bathroom, which is something I like to do in most restaurants. The bathroom was not clean, the used paper towels in the bin was filled to the top, pieces of toilet paper on the floor. Food was good. Ordered a mimosa carafe that came out made almost entirely with juice. (We watched it get made) Couldn't taste any Champagne at all, it was so awful we couldn't even drink it. Decided to deal with it because we hate complaining but when the check came, it was $42. For $42, i would expect a full bottle of champagne. We mentioned to the waitress that it wasn't good we couldn't drink it, and when questioned, she said that she filled the carafe almost all the way to the top with champagne, (which we knew wasn't true because we watched it get made). We also mentioned that they should put the prices on the menu if they are going to be so out of proportion with the rest of the prices on the menu, but nothing was done about anything. Interesting morning at this stop. Had to wait to be seated at 8 am. After a good 5 minute wait. The waitress came out and told us to sit anywhere. So why was there a wait to be seated sign? I have to say it's cute inside. I do find all the different tv's going on different stations a bit overwhelming . It took a while to order , I am not blaming the waitress! I absolutely love this place which is why I am so disappointed to write this review. This is the first time the entire order went wrong. We uber eats ordered and if we were in restaurant everything would have been sent back. The bacon was burnt to a crisp. The corned beef hash omelet contained black burnt barely any corned beef, barely any cheese and there was a hair in it. The meatball grinder roll was burnt to crumb level dryness, barely enough sauce and near non existent cheese. The half sour pickles were just regular pickles. Wouldnt have ordered them if we knew itd be the same as store bought. Will likely only eat in person from now on. The driver also had to wait for almost a half hour. As I walked into the restaurant I looked around and it seemed very clean, tidy and updated. There was maybe 6 people at the tables having a meal. I thought it would be bustling and filled with chatter. I ordered corned beef hash n eggs (over easy) with a side of white toast this morning. I asked for crispy hash and assumed that there was a side of home fries that would go with the dish which is pretty standard everywhere else. Nope. I was very disappointed to say the least. The hash was burnt instead of crispy and was very chunky. The meat didn't break up like corned beef, it was square chunks with mushy with pate like meat all around it and I swore it was actually chopped ham. It also had a vinegary flavor to it, which I've never experienced before. To top all that off, my third bite had bone fragments in it. I eat corned beef hash for breakfast almost everywhere I eat breakfast if they have it on the menu so I'm pretty versed in what a good, corned beef breakfast should look and taste like. The best I've had was at Cosmic Omelet and Skooters comes a close second. The portion was very small for the price and was just thrown on the plate. Toast. You would expect a stack of toast like two slices cut in triangles. Nope. One piece of toast, cut in half and very small. No crispy hash browns, no love. That is an extra cost. I asked the waitress about the portion size and she said they had to cut back. I asked why only one piece of toast and she replied, "people would end up wasting it so we cut that back to one piece". I'm like. why would it matter if the price was on the customer? Look I get it. Times are tough. Money is tight but to cut that many corners on a breakfast and sell it for twelve dollars is a travesty for the name of the restaraunt. When the previous owners were in charge, I can honestly say I didn't have to worry about any of these issues because the portions where big and the quality was all there. I miss that. This place will disappear shortly in the near future if it keeps this pace. Im really sorry to give them such a bad review based off of just one meal but if that the presentation and level of quality that they give for such a simple breakfast staple, I don't want to know anything else about the place. I took three bites and that was the end of my meal. I got up and walked to the register to pay for my meal no matter what the outcome of it was. This place use to be awesome, Not anymore. I order take out an hour before they close, for pick up at 2:45pm. I've been noticing nobody picks up after 50 rings. Then when you call back, it's busy for 45 minutes. I finally said something because I tried to order a cob salad for days but couldn't get through. The California Cob salad on 1/23/2024, had disgusting pieces of paper under the sliced chicken. I picked it all out and put it in a baggie. It's pictured under my Google review I was so angry plus I choked and gagged out PAPER in a salad. I believe it was on purpose because I told them nobody answers the phone. There was nobody answering once I got home so I wrote a message to Manchester Public Health, with all my contact information. I'm not going back ever after that nasty behavior. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. From the outside you wouldn't expect to see how nice the interior is. Ok let's talk food . My meal was delicious , the burger cooked perfectly and the pretzel bun was delicious . The fries were warm not hot but good nonetheless . Someone gave us silverware and we said hello. We did not get anything back, not even a smile. Service seemed very cold, inattentive, and simply did not care about the customers. The servers just seemed to sit at a table in their phones with dirty tables and customers needing things. We ordered the BBLT, which means bacon, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. It literally had 2 small pieces of bacon. Used to have much more. And the side of potatoes was half the size it used to be. My first time eating here was yesterday, (4/7/2023) for lunch with my husband and our friends. We were seated quickly. Because of dietary restrictions, I ordered a roast turkey whole wheat wrap sandwich but had them leave off certain items & add a different type of cheese...no problem at all. My wrap sandwich would have been much better with all the original ingredients, but that's not the restaurant 's fault. My husband's chicken sandwich on focaccia bread & french fries looked great, & my friend's Reuben sandwich looked amazingly delicious! Pastrami On Wry definitely does not skimp on the meat, turkey, or chicken. My turkey roast wrap probably had about 3" of turkey in it, and the other sandwiches looked the same way. The service was terrific, kudos to our waitress (sorry, forgot her name, we were there from a little after 1:00 PM to almost 3:00 PM). Came here on a Sunday late morning for breakfast. Server was friendly, food came out a little slow. We ordered two plain pancakes, the Denver omelet and the corned beef triple cheese omelet. The food took some time and the server was nice and apologized for the wait. We really didn't mind. When the food came out, it was not super hot and tasted like it had been sitting. The pancake didn't come with butter and was a little tough - we needed a knife to cut it. But the flavor was very tasty. The omelettes were both just ok. Not a lot of veggies in the Denver and the eggs were tough like they were over cooked. The toast was also dry like it had been sitting. We had ordered loaded hash browns but they forgot. I am a Reuben lover and was a bit disappointed after our lunch at Pastrami on Wry. I had the Belly Buster sandwich which was a pastrami and corned beef melt. Part of my disappointment may have been my own fault because I anticipated it would be both pastrami and corned beef on the whole sandwich rather than half a sandwich of corned beef and half pastrami. The sandwich was a bit dry and not grilled, I also felt there was more bread than there was meat. I was excited to try the three bean salad and slaw but was left disappointed as the bean salad was way too salty and the slaw unremarkable. As a pickle lover I also wasn't super impressed with the half sour pickle - it just sorta tasted like a cucumber to me. I will say our waitress was great and she recommended a really good cold brew coffee with almond milk and syrup served in a mason jar which I really appreciated. Would definitely give them a second chance as I am a die hard Reuben fan but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was disappointed in my first visit. read more

I came here for breakfast on an early Sunday morning with my husband. We got there at 8am and found parking easily as well as a table. The lunch menu was pretty large and very well priced. Omelettes were around $9 and other things like pancakes and waffles $4-7. I got the veggie hash and my husband got the trees out hash. We also both got sourdough bread with our meal. Overall it was good. I wish my hash had a lot more vegetables in it, I found that it was mainly just potatoes. Additionally I think we got white bread and not sourdough, unless they're sourdough just isn't very sour. The food was good and you got a decent amount it just reminded me of a lot of other breakfasts you can get nearby. I heard that their lunch menu was very good, so I'd want to go back to try it out for one of their sandwiches. But I would recommend stopping in, just nothing out of the ordinary. read more

Have been coming to this restaurant for years but today might make me rethink going back. My wife and I were seated around 10am, ordered our meal around 10:15 and never received our food. Our waitress did not check on us a single time in an hour and we had to flag down another waitress waiting on a nearby table only to find out that our order was never put through the system! Had my first Lobster Roll of the season today [by chance]. I was at an afternoon meeting and had planned to go to Shady Glen for a cheeseburger. Even at 2pm they were too busy and I was hungry so left there and found Pastrami on Wry. I had eaten at the old place and wanted to try the new one. Good idea! The PoW Lobster Roll was a delicious mound of lobster with garlic seasoning on a well toasted and buttered bun. A bit of lettuce on the bottom and a dribble of dill cream sauce on top. Not the usual but super good. Came with one side and I opted for the potato salad and that was the perfect choice for me. Will go back when I am in Manchester and delve into their interesting menu. read more
