Ordered lunch from here on Uber Eats and the sandwiches were huge. The bread was crusty and thick. We loved both the Italian hoagie and the chicken cutlet hoagie. They were super flavorful and very filling. Unfortunately, they forgot to include our meatball sandwich, which was disappointing. That said, the food we did get was very tasty. Next time I'd probably pick it up in person to avoid any mix-ups, but overall a great lunch spot. read more

I have traveled through CT for many years and have always heard that this chain was an excellent option for a quality grinder, but have never made it. Finally got my chance this weekend and was quite pleased. The price was reasonable and the grinder was a very solid offering. I was very disappointed after seeing reviews. The bread was soft and there was a lot of it. Being CT I expected a great crispy Italian roll. This was Subway with better meat. Don't bother, directions were not followed at all. I ordered an Italian with dressing, salt and pepper, EXTRA pickles, olives, and mushrooms. Sandwich came dry to the bone. No dressing on it at all. Not only did I not get extra pickles, I got NO pickles. They literally gave me three olives (see photos). Sandwich and bread were so dry I reported to doordash, got my refund and threw it in the trash. The directions print out on the receipt when they get the order which means whoever was making it deliberately didn't follow directions. Too many other good options in the area to waste your time here. Really disappointing. read more

DAMN this was a good grinder. I ordered delivery off grubhub. I got an Italian grinder, stuffed clams, and a slice of carrot cake. The key takeaway is that this place does one thing and does it well: the grinder was fantastic. The stuffed clams and carrot cake were fine bordering on bad, but I suppose that's not why I ordered from here. Sandwich was top 5 I've ever had. Great ratio of meat to cheese to veggies, bread was the perfect level of soft while still holding up. Sandwich was incredibly filling for being only $14 (and that may have been a marked up price for grubhub, I'm not sure). Delivery was packaged well and close to on time (a little delayed but I'm used to it in this area). I loved their chopped veggie mix and it was flavorful without overwhelming the taste of the sandwich. Would absolutely order again. Definitely want to try some of their hot sandwiches as well. read more

What a wonderful place! We were traveling and decided to stop for a grinder. We were pleasantly surprised with the menu, the location and the service! The shop had a great ambiance, which included a sitting area and a Chrstimas tree, which created a homey type vibe. The owner and his wife talked to us and took very nice care of us! Nardelli's gets super high marks for menu variety and so many options. The showcase displays all of their sandwich fixings and really made it tough to make up my feeble mind. I ended up going for a Whole Barbecue Rib Grinder ($10.59) that yielded 2 pretty big portions. It was very similar to a McRib (yes, I've had that so don't judge me) on a soft Italian grinder roll served with Lettuce, Tomato, Classic Mix (Diced Veggies), Provolone Cheese, Olives & Hot Sauce. I skipped the included mayo because the Barbecue Hot Sauce and all of those diced veggies made this one impossibly sloppy sandwich to eat. Of course it was delicious! Nardelli's Covid protocol was a little confusing. There were just 2 counter spots open at a time for ordering, but they kept calling "next" before one of the two customers walked toward the register. We held back on approaching the counter because if we had moved forward there would have been no way to observe social distancing. There was also confusion at the cash register. Completed sandwiches were stacked on a table so the poor cashier had to clairvoyantly match the sandwiches with the customers and that was awkward and time consuming. As a result, customer stacked up waiting to pay, and no one was 6 feet apart. The store's interior is small, and they really have to do a better job thinking up a way to move customers through the process faster and safer. read more

Every time I visit Connecticut I always make a special trip here and it never disappoints. The bread is always fresh and amazing, they don't skimp on the meats, and their lettuce/salad mix with the peppers and such is fantastic. So many options to chose from, but I went with the classic turkey and provolone. I neglected to take any pictures because I was too excited to wait any longer than necessary. I've ordered here several times and each time I get what is advertised: a very good Nardelli grinder. There's nothing like the original but as they've grown they have made sure to have consistency and quality. I love being able to order on the app ahead of time to have an easy pickup. I've gotten several warm subs and they are always fresh when I pick them up. The veal is pretty good as is the chicken parm. I was so looking forward to this Nardelli's that I didn't even know existed near me. I had such a great sandwich at Naugatuck so I thought let me go here and order a chicken cutlet sandwich. I gave it a two starts instead of one because the staff was very friendly. Back to my sandwich. The bread and the toppings were great but the chicken cutlet was super chewy and hard like it was a few days old or something. Super disappointed. Maybe they're having a bad day. Keeping this short. For the vegans/vegetarians, I highly recommend the chik'n sub. Great taste, flavorful, filling. However, today I tried the plant based Italian sub, and the slices were terrible. I've had vegan deli slices before that taste great, but the ones served here taste very syntheti, like a chemical/rubber taste, and like rubber, it's also very stretchy almost like a rubber band. I'm not one to make a scene especially when there were a lot of customers, cause I wanted to bring it in and tell them, but I ripped the "meat" off and just ate the rest. I ate it outside on the brick wall and tossed the "meat". The vegan mayo and cheese is good however. For those who don't know what that is, they bake the turkey, ham, cheese and bacon into squares and then put pre cut portions onto your grinder. ITS GREAT. My sis in law and brother live in Farmington and spoke highly of this place as I am obsessed with Italian subs. Mine was good but I was a little disappointed in the bread. It was just meh. Not crusty, a little too mushy for my taste. The sides needed salt but weren't soggy like other places. My husband loved his chicken cutlet with marinara sauce. The mud pie dessert was yummy. When they get it right, the sandwiches are delicious. However, the last two times I ordered from the Farmington store, the attention to detail was sadly lacking. I am a vegan and usually order the vegan Italian combo, but what I got was a veggie wrap with regular mayo and dairy cheese, so I was unable to eat it. I was shocked to find out that they offer a vegetarian cold cut grinder! Pretty rare to see that in a lot of sandwich shops. It is absolutely delicious. They really give you your moneys worth here with a giant sandwich, and the works that they put on it makes it great! I will definitely be returning here for the vegetarian option. I ordered sandwich platters for a family gathering. The store called to talk about the order, and took care to listen to my requests. The food was incredible--sandwiches, salad and dessert. Every bite was eaten.We've gotten grinders there before (the meatball grinder is superior!), but this was the first time we've used them for a small event. I don't understand why anyone would ever go to Subway when they have access to Nardelli's. I've visited more than 10 times and have never been disappointed by the taste or the service. The steak sandwich is my favorite and there is a lot of meat on the grinder, so I don't at all feel cheated. When I'm on the mood for a grinder, I'm willing to drive out of my way to give them my business. Quick, simple, and delicious dependability is all that customers really want, and they deliver! It's pretty mediocre. I've gone twice but honestly it just wasn't like wow. Decent sandwich place, clean restaurant but small tiny. Not much different from a Subway however might be more fresh than your local Subway. Unfortunately, I can only give mediocre up to 3 stars. Just isn't wow ya know. I can get a sandwich much less pricey and just as good from a local pizza parlor in walking distance. Sorry peeps. Good for lunch, but not worth going out of your way.
