Toasted Frontega Chicken and Autumn Squash Soup
    Tamara E.

The location was bright and clean. The employee that was working the register was friendly and welcoming. For food we both ordered from the "you pick 2" menu. I got the Frontega Chicken (no onions) and the Autumn Squash Soup. My husband had the Ciabatta Cheesesteak and the Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice Soup. To drink he had a soda pop and I had the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade. Both sandwiches were good but nothing special. They were hot and all items were in proportion. The meats were lightly seasoned and the bread was toasted to Panera standards. The Frontega has been my go to for years and I have to say I miss the old recipe-i'm not a fan of the new one. The Autumn Squash Soup was DELICIOUS! I wish it came around more often. It is flavorful and the garnish brings it to the next level. The Chicken & Wild Rice Soup was hearty and good but had an interesting surprise in it. We weren't sure if it was a giant chunk of cardboard (this is my thoughts based on texture) or a large bone, but we found a large object in the soup which was a turn off. My Blueberry Lavender Lemonade was DISGUSTING! I had two sips (my husband could only stand 1) and had to throw it away. It tasted like a lavender candle. I will be returning but Panera will not be my 1st choice with my favorite sandwich just being ok now, and definitely will be passing on the special lemonade.

Panera bread is a pleasant addition to the dining landscape of Carson City. My wife and I were there on a cold and blustery day. We had some hot onion soup that tasted great. We also had two different breakfast sandwiches. The staff was pleasant and helpful and everybody knew their role in making the guests happy. In short, when we're in Carson City, we will definitely be thinking about having lunch at the Panera bread store.

    My order

Food was good. Panera has a good product. However, service is another matter. This place is perpetually slow. Every time I have gone there it takes a while to get anything. This is my first Yelp on it. I made an online order at 4:17pm. I asked for it to be ready at 5pm in the drive thru. I arrived at the drive up at 4:55pm and waited for one customer ahead of me. At 5pm I was at the window and was told my food wasn't ready, go sit in the parking lot. I waited 7 minutes. I go and ask where is my food? Who are you? I'm G Meyer, I have an online order I made at 4:17 to be ready at 5:00. Am I still waiting for it? She tells me they are starting on my food now. She offered me cookie to placate me like I was five. How long does it take to have something ready at 5:00pm? A total disappointment in online ordering. Honest to God, you can take lessons from Wendys.

Geez why is Panera so expensive. The pick two isn't really a deal. A small side of Mac n cheese was over $8.00 and they give you bread with everything. So if you love bread this is your spot. All of of their soups contain dairy and gluten which was disappointing if you have food sensitivities. Although it does seem vegetarian friendly. I will say that this location is brand new and it's super nice inside and big. They do bake their own bread and have a large treat section. It's also a drive thru and right on the corner of the intersection. It is a healthy option for Carson and another quick place to eat is nice.

Since I'm in the area, decided to order online from my phone. Went inside to pick up order and the bagels were ready, but not the drinks. It all worked out, and I was able to get my drinks while waiting. I did ask for almond milk, and they used regular... so I'm taking those oldies too! The cinnamon crunch lattes are really good! I also got the cherry vanilla bagels, and of course cinnamon crunch.

For day one and the crowds they had everthing running pretty smooth! Drive thru was wrapped as expected, but we found some seats inside. Employees were all nice, and the food was solid as always. They were out of several soups so be aware first day jitters!

Pleasantly surprised. Clean bright Panera with plenty of parking. Service was fast and friendly. Not many baked items left at 1800 on a Sunday evening, but they had something I wanted. Dining room seemed clean and well kept. All in all a good experience.

I see this restaurant has many negative reviews, but the two times I have been here (October 31, 2022--two weeks after the grand opening--and today), and the service was excellent. This restaurant is in a new plaza (Cochise Crossing) on the south end of Carson City, by US route 50/I-580 and South Carson Street. It only opened on October 17, 2022, and was the company's second location in northern Nevada (with the one at UNR in Reno being the first a month earlier). There are two more Panera Breads planned for Reno and Sparks. I went in the early morning today and got a pastry to go (pumpkin cookie for the fall!). The manager was walking by and greeted me. I looked at all the pastries and bagels, which were freshly baked, full stocked, and thoughtfully displayed, and made my choice. I chose the self-service stations, as there were three, and only one was taken. Otherwise, there were two people ahead of me in line, but I noticed it went quickly. The self-service station was easy to use, well lit, intuitive, and clean. Almost as soon as I placed the order, I went to the pick-up hutch by the kitchen window. There was a computer display showing the status of my order. The manager saw me looking at the ready pick-up items and told me there was an order waiting with the name "Megan" she thought was mine, but it wasn't. She then quickly handed my finished order right to me. It couldn't have been more than a minute since I placed the order that it was ready! I forgot to test the free wifi, but I will next time. The restaurant itself was spotless, as was the parking lot. It was brightly lit. The store was well staffed, and the employees worked fast and were well trained. It wasn't too busy--mostly customers getting food before heading off to work. A few tables were occupied. There was even a clear drive-thru, which many of the older Panera Breads do not have. Delivery is also available if you prefer, as well as catering. One thing I would like to mention, which has nothing to do with the restaurant, is this business can be a little tricky to enter, since the entire small plaza it is in is on Cochise Street, but is blocked by Dutch Bros. Coffee on W. Appion Way. Most people will come to this location via S. Carson Street, and turn onto W. Appion, then think they can enter the plaza on W. Appion, but there is that aforementioned Duch Bros. Coffee, which is not part of the plaza. If you enter that restaurant, there is no way to get to Panera Bread. You have to turn onto Cochise St. after driving on W. Appion. No biggie, but I just wanted people who are unfamiliar with the location, like me, to know. I will definitely return to this restaurant, as it is a clean location with excellent service, good food, and plenty of space to work.

Not very much chicken salad on that sandwich. Lots of lettuce.

What I received was an amazing blend of super tender pork in a slightly sweet but tangy BBQ sauce, mac n' cheese, and a perfectly cooked (not hard or dry), very generously sized potato (big enough for two). On a chilly day, when you're hungry, this absolutely fits the bill. Warming and savory, but well balanced, and not greasy. After some bowling or billiards? Perfect. I was thinking this was probably the best flavor, when I saw the rotating ad for....a spaghetti potato pie. Will have to come back and try other varieties. The cashier was very helpful and patient explaining the menu. Checked the website and looks like they update the menu with new options too. They say they're "dedicated to perfecting the art of the baked potato," and they're doing exactly that. Along with it, they're also serving up one of the best craft-style fountain sodas, Stubborn Soda. Don't hesitate to make a little detour (or order delivery) to try this place. They told us not to order over the phone, only online. OK, fine, but it seems like you shouldn't turn away business just because we used a phone. We got our order placed online instead. My wife received a confirmation email and then an email saying our order was ready for pickup. She arrived at the restaurant, and the lady working said she had never gotten an order and hadn't started on it. So my wife waited for the food to be prepared and finally got it home. The food was good. The mac and cheese potato is really good. The mac and cheese was a star. The shepherd's pie was ok, but a little shy on the meat and needed some more seasoning. At least the portions are large, and you'll likely be able to split an order into two meals unless you're super hungry. The inside of this place is small and located inside the bowling alley building. Nothing special about the ambiance. Takeout is probably the way to go. This place should be 3 stars. However, I am going to cut a little slack and assume it was a one-off experience. So for this review, I am sticking with 4 stars. When I return, I hope the food is up to par, and the service improves. I would love to write a 5-star review for this small local business.

I grew up eating Indonesian food and other Southeast Asian cuisines, and always look for Indonesian food whenever we travel, and was excited to see there were two in Carson City. The other one was my first choice but they're closed on Mondays, so we came here on our way to Tahoe. We arrived a little after 4pm so it was quiet. The chef's husband walked us through the menu and ordering system, all the time hyping up the food and flavor and multiple awards they've won and how everybody loved/raved about their food and had never tasted flavors like theirs. The man is clearly very proud of his wife, which we appreciate. Since rendang was sold out, we decided on lemongrass chicken with yellow rice for the hubs, chicken satay with fried rice for the kid, and gado gado for me. We also ordered canned drinks but were offered free bottled water (for dining in) which we accepted with gratitude. Food came relatively quickly, fifteen minutes or so. Presentation was nice, with banana leaf on wooden platter and silverware and napkin. This particular lemongrass flavor is unfamiliar to me, and aside from heat from the chili it was flat. The chicken pieces were deep fried and dry. The nasi kuning must be old because it was hard, and there was barely any flavor. The chicken satay pieces were alright according to the kid, a little dry but tasted good. The nasi goreng was so-so, I see bits of fried egg and tasted kecap manis, but most importantly it was oily. The gado gado was actually acceptable, even if the tofu and potato cubes had been refried to a crisp, as was the hardboiled egg (also fried), and the peanut sauce was chunky and not creamy enough and lacked the distinct spices and flavor. The man had told us the ingredients are sourced fresh from Indonesia. Given they're in the middle of nowhere, it is not surprising if the food was prepped/cooked in batches instead of made fresh to order. Perhaps we came on an "off" day. Perhaps the raving reviews and awards were for the rendang only, which we didn't get to sample. If he had not talked our ears off the minute we stepped into the restaurant, perhaps we would not have had such high expectations of our meal. The chef seemed like a sweet woman and I wish her well. Might I suggest that her husband let customers determine for themselves if the food is truly amazing instead of forcing his extended elevator spiel on them. 3.5 stars, only because I am supporting an immigrant woman chasing her dreams in this political climate.

We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! Here they actually de-boned the meat so you're getting nice chunks of flavorful, meaty duck along with fresh chunks of pineapple, tomatoes, and spices with that yummy curry over my caucasian rice (I like to be culturally sensitive). Even my wife that don't like duck really enjoyed this. So while $80 for 3 dishes may seem a bit high, it was worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and my kids also ate all their noodles with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
