Went there to pick up dinner this evening and not only did they give me the wrong soup but they gave me the wrong side and only forks for utensils.... The food was ok, nothing wrong there, however, the "G.M." was an absolute jerk. We started into the building and was told we would be ushered in as soon as social distancing would allow. After sitting in the hot car for ten minutes and going over the menu online, we decided we would just call the order in. The person on the other end of the line told us to come right in. The "G.M." never came back as he said he would. We walked into the building, only one person was at the counter. I looked over at the "G.M." and said, "thanks for coming to get us." He blew up! He yelled, "I was just going to have one of the girls come get you!" No apologies were offered. In fact, he threatened to cancel my order and give me a refund! He asked "is that what you want?" I said "No I want my food!" He was a chubby male about 6', it was about 1:00, Tuesday the 28th, in Citrus heights, Ca. He told me his name, but I was pissed off I've forgotten it. I had the worst catering experience of my career with Panera Bread today. I work at Target and have practically unlimited funding when I comes to feeding my 300 team members for the holidays. I asked for 100 (8 dozen) bagels to be delivered to my store (literally it's within walking distance) at 5am on for two separate days later this week. They informed me that because I had not given 3 days notice they could not fulfill my order. I told them that I had done this exact same thing last year on the same day. They said it didn't matter, and they could fulfill the order for the end of the week but not the one in the middle. I said fine. The first woman I spoke with seemed confused with what I even wanted and wouldn't transfer me to a manager. I asked if I could order 50 bagels for Wednesday instead. She said no. I asked how many bagels I could order with 48 hours instead of 72, and she said TWENTY. so basically I can only order 2 dozen bagels from Panera Bread without 3 day's notice??? I'm sorry, but isn't this one of the biggest bagel joints in the United States?? I could walk in the door and purchase more than that without a problem, right?! She then transferred me to the catering department and that woman was extremely unfriendly. When I asked to have them delivered at 5am (once again explaining this is what I had one last year) she said, 'we don't open until 6'. I made another concession and asked if they could be delivered at 6? She said she would have to ask the elusive manager again. She then began to take my order and ask what I wanted. I said, 'I would like 100 assorted bagels with cream cheese'. She said, 'so how many dozen do you want'? I almost hung up the phone right then and there. The entire time I felt like they didn't want my business or value me as a potential paying customer. Honestly if I'd had a great experience I would have gotten coffee and breakfast sandwiches from them too! the whole experience was ridiculous and I won't soon be using Panera for my catering needs. read more

Usually a great place to eat, but have to give them a D today for the drive through. After repeating my order 3 times (Coffee and 2 scones) I was given a price of $1.99. Disappointed. Our boss kindly provided soup & salad to our clerical staff. Upon return, our secretary noticed there was no asian salad dressing - none. So she went back and they told her they did give it to her. There wasn't any. They decided to deliver greek dressing and said that the secretary forgot it in her car. Nope. She then called back and the manager who helped her with the order was dumbfounded. No apology, no refund, nada. I have been to this Panera numerous times on Sunday mornings. Every time, without fail, they have no soufflés. The pastries are very limited and this morning, they ran out of egg whites for the sandwiches. Now, this is at 9 am. This has happened every time. I could understand maybe once. I have to say that this reflects extremely poor management and would probably result in a loss of money for Panera. They obviously do not care. Well, this is it. So I used to go to this Panera two to three times a week, close to my house, healthy options, and a drive thru... Can't beat that. But then my orders started turning up wrong, they were constantly out of things, even bread.... Panera BREAD running out of bread, on a regular basis no less, oh the irony! So I swore them off.... Tonight I'm driving home, and think that a baguette sounds great and why not get dinner there. Order at the drive thru, get home... Credit where credit is due, my half salad was great.... I open my half Turkey Bacon Bravo and immediately notice it's on the wrong bread, I love the bread it's supposed to be on, but whatever, things happen. Then I notice it's a pretty sad looking sandwich, I open it up, it has two thin pieces of Turkey, no bacon, a little sliver of lettuce, the end slice of a tomato that should have been thrown out, and here's the kicker: no sauce. The sandwich was gross, I could have whipped up a better one and I haven't been to the store in a week.... But hey, bad little trip down memory lane was really about the baguette and butter right?.... Pull out the baguette and see that the butter is different.... I will start with how much I love Panera Bread in general. I think their food is really good. This restaurant has a drive through - this is a huge draw for me - as I am handicapped. The drive up window makes it easy for me to pick up a quick meal and take it home. However, I recently ate inside for the first time. I found the restaurant dirty - many of the tables had not been cleaned or even cleared from the last customers. The staff I interacted with was extremely rude. When I stood at the counter to place my order - the young lady waiting on me refused to look at me and barked at me "What do you want!" I was thrown for a loop at her greeting. I politely asked her if she were talking to me - she was. As I placed my order - she would not give me eye contact or even look in my direction - at several points during my ordering my meal I had to wait while she walked off to look out the front window. Very off putting to say the least. After placing my order, I joined my friends and we began to notice yet another reason for not returning to this restaurant. We were repeatedly harassed by people panhandling inside the restaurant. They would come up and ask us for food to eat, this was not one adult but 4 that did this at different times during our meal. I was really put off when a parent sent her two small children - approximately 5 and 7 - around the dining-room each with a box of pencils and candy claiming they were for a school fundraiser. However, since I and the ladies I had met that day were all teachers - those were not fundraising items - but Dollar Tree items the parent was using along with her young children to panhandle the customers. I need to also add that a few "customers" used the restaurant for the free Wi-Fi - bought a hot tea and then ate the food left by other customers that was left on tables that had not been cleaned. I donate to various organizations for the needy/homeless. I am not opposed to giving someone in a tough spot a few bucks. But, I don't like be harassed in a restaurant while I'm trying to eat. I have not been back to this store. I have visited other Panera Bread restaurants in the area - but I will not return to this store. The manager needs to manage and control the environment - the restaurant needs to be cleaned, staff need to learn how to treat customers, and finally, they need to keep the panhandling outside the restaurant. read more

Ive been going to Panera for awhile now and ive always loved the food so when they put one close to my house I was very happy. Ive always been happy with my food but tonight we went through the drive thru and when we got home the food was horrible! The bread on our sandwiches was so hard it could have chiped a tooth the macaroni & cheese was dry and the soup was nothing but broth! We called about 10 min after leaving to let them know we weren't happy with our meal and we we're told without a receipt they cant do anything for us, he said its because they get too many calls from people wanting refunds! What kind of sense does that make so they are saying they always make crappy food?! I never keep fast food receipts and ive never been asked or told I must have one normally managers are very willing to make the customer happy but the manager at this store on Saturday night was rude and needs some training on customer service considering that he and his store need us more then we need him! read more

Lousy food. Dry bread and panini's are soggy on one side and toasted on the other. Drive thru was quick and I can see why. They just threw the butter and a broken off piece of roll in the bag. The butter melted all over the napkins and containers in the bag and made a mess. The sandwich was not good and they had a little squirt of sauce on it and the chipolte you couldn't even see the sauce. Never going back again. read more

Food is way overpriced. What's worse is the lack of cleanliness in the dining room. Our booth had a white substance all over the backrests and the wood portion had a ton of dingy fingerprints all over. It did not look like it had been cleaned in weeks! One of my fave "fast food" places to eat- however, this location cannot get my order correct when going through the drive-thru. No less than 6 times this year, I have placed my order and EACH time it has been wrong. Doesn't matter what day of the week of time, the order always wrong. This past week I watched the young lady fill my bag, look at her screen, take it all out, check screen and re-pack. After receiving it, immediately saw I was missing food and noticed she left it on counter. Then when I get home, opened up my sandwich to see they failed to make it correctly. I've spoken to a couple of different managers and they always tell me to come back in and they will make it right- but when I live almost 15 minutes away, that doesn't help. Additionally, when I have gone back a day or two later to allow them to make it right, they only replace the item forgotten or messed up- have not been offered a "free treat for my trouble" as noted on the receipts.... (might also note a little over a year ago, I did have some type of beetle in my salad. They told me the salads are pre-made, so the bug had to come from another location) Great food, but the ineptness of the staff is no longer excusable.... waste of time, frustrating and poor business practices.... head inside and eat if you want to enjoy your Panera meal! read more

Usually bring my lunch every day. Decided to treat myself today to one of Panera's Salads. The Cobb to be exact. Wish I had brought my lunch. For just a tad under $10 I got brown lettuce and a salad dressing with no taste to it. The chicken was OK so I just ate that and through the rest away. My girlfriend is a panera fanatic and she likes to get food there for dinner a couple times a month. I like the food, but i would say probably 9 times out of 10 they mess up our order at the drive through window! Usually its something little like giving us chips as a side instead of baguette. That bothers me, but not a huge deal. On several occasions they leave something out or get portions wrong. Last night made decide i will never give this location my business ever again. My gf and i went to the drive through and she orders a soup and i order a sandwich, we both asked for baguette and i was specifically asked "half or whole sandwich?" I even verefied the order on the screen. When we got our order at the window, i told .my girlfriend to check if we got baguettes instead of chips like they usually do. She said yes so we drove home. I opened the bag, and had half a sandwich instead of a whole. With the ridiculously high prices we pay for food, they could at least get the order right! The total for a cup of soup and a sandwich came to about $17 and i was left with half a sandwich. That was the final straw and i decided to yelp and let everyone know how terrible this places drive thru service is. read more

Total RIP OFF. I decided to give this place a third chance and STRIKE THREE they are OUT in my book. Once again I ordered a sandwich (a breakfast sandwich) this morning and it was wrong and wimpy and EXPENSIVE for what I didn't get. Two pieces of tasteless lack luster bread with a small bit of cheese (I wasn't sure it was there because I couldn't taste it and could hardly see it) and an egg. I ordered one with bacon but there was NO BACON. This has happened twice now with breakfast and once with lunch. Since I don't like getting ripped of and paying almost $5 for a nasty tasteless sandwich I will go to Safeway where I can get a great breakfast sandwich for $1.99 or to Starbucks or anywhere else (even McDonald's is better). I don't know why the people at Panera can't get it right or why people keep going back there. I'm so done with them. read more

I like that they have free WiFi and free help-yourself coffee refills. Very good coffee. Their Greek salads are great. Breakfast sandwiches are small and just okay. My complaint about this particular Panera is that it is FREEZING, especially in the large back room. I am sitting here now shivering. At least two parties have come to sit at the tables around me and they both commented that it is freezing, and they left to find a table up front to see if it was any warmer up there. Needless to say, there are a lot of empty tables back here. What a waste of space. read more

This was my very first time at Panera and I went in with high hopes.The workers were mildly helpful at best with questions regarding the menu. Once ordered it was discovered that they were out of french bread and corn bread. This was not shared, the bread was just skipped on the plates. The hunt for a table began, and it took a while because the restaurant was a mess. There was food and garbage on almost every table and all over the floor. We did not have the liberty of picking a clean table, we had to pick the least dirty. Once we picked (and wiped off our table) we discovered a lack of silverware. This was only a problem because when we asked for it, they had no clean silverware. You're kidding me. They get 1 star because the food was still good, but I'll never be returning to this restaurant. A disgusting letdown. Avoid at all costs. read more

A little pricey but very good the soup and bread is the best. They have tons of choices we love it.
