I've just recently moved to the area and as I was setting up my place stumbling upon this TOGO's; which I had never had before, made having a delicious sandwich easy. Came here with my girlfriend for the first time. It's a split store with Baskin Robbin's. The store was clean for the most part. Customer service was ok, but our server was very short with my girlfriend as she gave her order. Which I did not appreciate. The salad she ordered and my sandwich were ok. Not the best Togos by far. The produce was not crisp and fresh. The wheat bread was not a little stiff and not as light and fluffy as I've normally had at other stores. Maybe cause it was a Sunday. The salad my gf ordered was did not even fill her container. When she asked for more the server refused. Saying they don't make salads to fill their containers anymore. I did not want to argue more so we paid and left. The food was average for a Togos, but the service was below average. Which is sad cause I love Togos. The place was pretty filthy. We wanted to eat inside but decided to find a nearby park to eat at instead because all the tables and chairs were covered in food crumbs and sauce smears. There's food all over the counter and in front of the register. There's dirt and food all over the floor and crusted in the corners of the building. I've been craving a French dip from Togo's for about a year now and finally got my fix! I decided to download the app and order ahead because my daughter, Angelina and I needed something good to eat. When I mentioned a French dip sandwich, she agreed! This Togo's is located in the same large parking lot as Safeway and other businesses. As I put our order in for one large French dip sandwich on parmesan bread, we went into safeway for chips and drinks (we don't drink soda, juice or tea). We walked over to Togo's only a few minutes later and it was ready for pick up. I liked that it has large windows. It makes it very bright in this clean sandwich shop. It came in two bags since it comes with au just (and putting it in the same bag is asking for a disaster). We walked back to our car and pulled into the back of the parking lot, and split our sandwich. It looked so good. Hot roast beef, melted provolone cheese, and chipotle mayo all on a warm parmesan cheese loaf. It was hot. The au just was even hotter. Every bite was so savory! The au jus was very hot, almost too hot to hold the container. The sandwich was even good without the au jus! A large sandwich was the perfect spit for us! We ate up every bite of that hot sandwich. For some reason, I always forget about Togo's sandwich shops. I went recently when I received a coupon in my email for my birthday for a free sandwich. I order a pastrami sandwich and just the smell alone had me salivating! I took one bite and it took me back to the days when I attended Carrington college and would sneak over for a mini sandwich and a scoop of ice cream on my break. Man, what a delicious sandwich, the ingredients were fresh and it had the right amount of everything to really take in the flavor and the softest bread I've ever had. I'll definitely return! More often than not, I have had a fairly positive experience eating at "Togo's Sandwiches". And this one that shares its building and space with Baskin Robbins is no exception. I have been to this location a dozen times and out of those dozen times, my order has only screwed up on one occasion. Which to me is enough reason to rate this particular location four stars. Located in the Safeway shopping center on busy Greenback Lane adjacent to San Juan Ave. in the heart of Citrus Heights, this is one of two Togo's location in the city (as the other one is only a mile away on Greenback Lane/Fair Oaks Blvd. I come to this location if I am looking for something different than the typical Subway which taste can get boring after awhile. With the COVID-19 pandemic that is taking over the world in 2020/21, everything to "to-go" which gives more meaning to the business name. What I enjoy about their sandwiches is that they are available in 3 different sizes (mini, 6", and 9") with several different breads. Unlike Subway, they have slightly more options to choose from including full-on salads. But unlike Subway, you don't really have the option to go condiment by condiment (cheese, meats, produce, spices, etc.). I usually always find myself ordering their #24 which is their "Turkey & Avocado". This popular sandwich is loaded with 1/4 lb. of turkey, fresh creamy avocados with mayonnaise and served Togo's Style on your choice of bread. I usually go with their whole wheat and a bag of chips. If I am really hungry, I will add a side salad which gives you 8 different customizable options to choose from. As I have mentioned, the food here has always been consistently good and most importantly, fresh. Sometimes the employees can be friendly and knowledgeable but at times, I get the ones that don't take their job seriously. Overall, I have had mainly positive experiences. I will say that the best deal is that when you check-in on the Yelp app, you can get a FREE fountain drink. All in all, the Citrus Heights "Togo's Sandwiches" is a decent quick sandwich shop; my rating, four stars. read more

I had been craving a sandwich all day, as it has been a hectic month, to say the least. All I wanted was a regular turkey and cheese sandwich on sourdough (#3). Simple. No produce. What I got after I opened the sandwich wrapper (after running an errand)- was a black forest ham and swiss sandwich. I don't eat ham. For the most part, I don't eat pork products. I was the only customer in the place and the guy still couldn't get it right! Now, I paid over $8 for this sandwich, thatI could've gone to Safeway next door (cause I p/u a salad there) and bought a package of turkey for like $5. I already have swiss and sliced sourdough at home. But, I'm tired of fixing my dinner every night after being at the hospital all day. I have to say I am very impressed at how responsive this location was to my gluten allergy. They took all necessary precautions to make sure cross contamination was limited. They even went a step further by sanitation of the area & tools where they made my sandwich. I believe it was the store manager that guided the employee to make sure it was safe. I took it home and my sandwich was delicious. I have visited this location in the past with the same experience as to making sure to do the best they can to minimize cross contamination. Getting the hitch that things are just more expensive, however $30 for a sandwich lunch that we split is ridiculous especially when the quality is less than acceptable. We ordered a regular sandwich, 2 soups and a small drink, just under $30. Sorry, I'm retired and my income isn't going up accordingly. Apparently I did not select the right thing because when I called for my curbside pickup today they refused to bring it out saying that it was just a pickup order. I myself live in north highlands and even though I have 2 locations less than 5 minutes away, I choose to come here. They make the sandwiches spot on. Made an online order last night. When I arrived to pick it up I was told that they never received my order and that it was sent to the others Togos across from Red Robin in-spite of the fact that my receipt had their address and phone number. Went to the other Togos and they knew absolutely nothing about my order. Went back to the them and asked again if they had my order and again stated that they never received my order so I left very upset, got home and called to speak to the manager who advised me that they did receive my order but due to a computer not alerting them to my order, they were unaware that they even had it. Manager offered to have my order made if I came back but I refused to go back for the 3rd time, then offered me a discount the next time a came in. No Thanks!! I don't mind coming here as long as I get the right people. When I go it's on the weekends and some members of the staff are really sweet and I get good service. Sometimes I get the short guy who is either a manager or supervisor, and he's gotta go. He speeds through everything like it's some sort of race...even if you're the only person there. He gives you the bare minimum for sandwiches AND ice cream (he literally took a small scoop out of my ice cream and put it back because it was "too much"). I'm just about to finish a #25 (BBQ Beef) from Togos, leftover from yesterday's lunch. Looking forward to it, in fact. I've been a Togo's customer since the 70's, and can always count on great sandwiches and salads. On the BBQ Beef, I'm careful to ask if there's brisquit still in there, or a "soup" of small bits of beef...If it's the latter, they always break out more fresh brisquit and make it happen the way I like it. As far as meat on a sandwich, the portions are much more generous than Subway, and with a large, I have another meal to enjoy later (like right now :-) I'll continue to go back...and since there's also a Baskin Robbins at that location, I'm sure there will be ice cream involved. Awesome service!! I was just there around 6:15 pm. This Togo's location is combined with Baskin-Robbins ice creamery. I had gone in there just to get an ice cream cake to take out --- which I did. Then I decided to get a sandwich also. The same two employees helped me from one side to the other with impressive seamless teamwork. In short, the food quality was good --- the great, helpful service (with smiles) made the sandwich and red-velvet ice cream cake taste even better! This place has high quality delicious sandwiches. There are quite a few different types that are easy to regularly eat. The pastrami is the best I have ever had anywhere. They cut it so thin and pile it on so its tender and juicy. If you like avocado the turkey avocado is a favorite as well. Always satisfied after I down a sandwich from this place. read more

My biggest turn off that will keep me from coming back is the fact that I had to tell the employee who was an older employee more than likely the owner that they needed to change their gloves before handling my food again because they touch the price gun. Super disappointed with not only how my sandwich was made but with the customer service. Tesla, the lady that made my sandwich barely asked me what I wanted on it. I had to ask her to spread apart the meat cause it was basically just dumped on the bread in a pile, and she still didn't do that. They said they didnt serve them. When I told them they just did, the butt wipe one the phone asked me if I would like to file a complaint. Typically when I order from this location my food is pretty good but this time not so well! I ordered through Postmates a couple nights ago and our order was not what we ordered to begin with. Then let me say this, I woke up around 2 am not feeling so good! I was sick for most of the night and throughout the next day. I had gotten food poisoning from the vegetables (more in likely the lettuce doc says). I was so sick that I couldn't even go to work! This was the only thing I had eaten all day so it was easy to say it came from the sandwich I ordered from here! Now we have had issues before from this store through Postmates, like not making our sandwiches right, missing ingredients on our sandwiches, the size being wrong (which you know it all cost extra) but never have I gotten sick from this store. I would for sure say, I am done eating at this store! I am not going to bother with reporting it to the manager cause I did just that last time and they acted like they didn't care!
