I don't know what happened and it seems strange to say that a basically fast food joint has gone downhill but something has changed. Got the Pick 2 today with a cup of broccoli cheddar and a half Mediterranean sandwich. I go to open up the sandwich and realize it looked so tiny wrapped in the paper. I had to bust out the measuring tape to show just how small this $4.19 sandwich they charged me for! I couldn't believe that they would give this to a paying customer! It's legit the size of a sandwich made for a hamster. I feel like the quality of the food (and apparently the portion size as well) has gone down hill lately. Kind of torn between 2-3 stars. The service was friendly and we were heavily encouraged to use the kiosk. We tried it but since I'm not too familiar w the menu I opted to order with a human being. I ordered the 1/2 turkey apple cheddar on cranberry bread with a half order of Mac and cheese suggested by my daughter it was a great sandwich. I opted for baguette instead of the apple or chips. Of the many Panera Breads I've been to (some even better in the area) this one ranks lowly on the scale of greatness. All times that I have been to this Panera the staff are unfriendly, rude, act like they don't give a toss about customers or helping them, etc. Customers walk around blindly trying to figure out the most basic elements of a restaurant such as where to pick up your food from, or where to place an order to begin with. Asking the people at the register is useless as they always seem to find themselves too busy to assist customers who need help, and going to the other side where the kitchen is is also useless as these employees are too busy preparing food to provide any assistance to lost customers. The food is less than average for a Panera Bread. As mentioned above the kitchen is hectic and probably a living hell given the way everyone steps over each other and tries to do their own thing without any kind of cohesion. The managers/supervisors look and sound mean, doesn't look like employees are working together so much as trying to survive the impossible traffic this location receives every day under the poor management. All in all, skip this location. There are plenty of better eateries accessible around this Panera Bread. Don't give anymore of your hard earned money to this underperforming, poorly managed corporate chain that could easily be replaced with another. read more

Employees are always nice and helpful and the food is great. It's quick and easy all you have to do is walk in and order and then your food comes out in ten minutes and less and it's usually less. The chicken caesar salad there is my absolute favorite and I never liked mac and cheese until I tried theres. The three sides, baguette, apple, or baked chips are great. The apple is self explanatory of course but the chips are great even though they're not my favorite considering I don't like baked chips but I know a lot of people do and the baguettes are amazing. I've never been a huge fan of Panera, but this one is convenient to my office and my friends like to go here for lunch sometimes, so I deal with it. Every experience I've had at this location has had something weird about it, and at first I chalked it up to this being a new store and maybe the employees are still getting up to speed, but they've been open for a few months by now, so I expect a little better from them. The most recent time I was there, one of my friends ordered the Big Kid Grilled Cheese, which is a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. The first sandwich she was given was not really toasted on the outside, and didn't contain bacon, so they made her another. This one looked toasty and had a couple flakes of bacon, but the cheese was completely raw inside. Finally they made her a third sandwich, which still wasn't completely satisfactory, but she ate half of it because at that point, our table was covered with sandwiches and it was getting ridiculous. There didn't seem to be any manager presence, either. As for my own meal, they always seem sort of stingy with the salad toppings, but that's probably a Panera thing, rather than a problem with this location. read more

My son placed a curbside order online for all of us to have dinner together. When he arrived to pick it up they had no signs indicating where to go for curbside pickup. He went inside and found out they gave his order to someone else. The manager was rude and condescending and offered a pastry to make it up. First of all it's end of the night so a stale pastry was not going to cut it. He made the comment that he knows the restaurant industry. Stopped in here for breakfast and went with the steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon crunch topping and strawberries along with an orange scone and a caramel latte. I would have liked my oatmeal to have been a little more moist, but it wasn't too bad. The orange scone and caramel latte were delicious. Downside for my wife is that there aren't many gluten-free options for breakfast. Let me just say I LOVE Panera bread. This location though is absolutely horrible. I've ordered many times food from them. I ordered my lunch as usual, now it was delivered but it was missing the main part the SOUP. Which isn't a big deal i thought, well apparently after speaking with "Summer" was told that they do not deliver nor do they give refunds. I asked to speak to a manager AARON hoping i could actually get my lunch. Aaron was very rude and condescending. He did not apologize and tried to shift the blame on the delivery service door dash. I spend a lot of money eating there and this is the last time i will EVER support this location. After about 20 minutes of holding passing me back and forth btw summer and this manger Aaron They issued me a refund of 2 dollars for the missing soup. Disgraceful! They should have refunded the whole bill amount or try to fix the situation. Which they refused to deliver my soup, so i had to leave work and go get food some where else. I'm totally baffled by the whole concept of Panera. Start with the pricing. I bought a bowl of Chicken tortilla soup and it was $9 (with an iced-tea and bread it was 12+) which is laughable at best. I saw them microwaving plastic bags of mac and cheese and pouring it into a bread bowls. The concept of order, pay, and wait to carry your food to a table and clean up your own dishes is like a reverse cafeteria. Anyway, the $9 bowl of soup was tasty but not even hot. When I took it to the counter, they told me I had to microwave it myself. I was lunching with a friend and her stuff came out about 5 minutes before mine. I guess for the money, I prefer a little more quality and service at a more reasonable price with more fresh ingredients. For the money, quality and service i'd go to Zoe's. read more

Panera always meets my expectations. My wife and I were excited to hear they opened in the Providence Towne Center as there were no other locations close to us. They are an alternative to Zoup, Zoe's and the Wegman's cafe. The Roasted Turkey and Avocado BLT and the Adult Grilled Cheese continue to by my favorites. There isn't anything that will make this place overly stand out if you have been to other Panera's and enjoy their food, I just wanted to give them a great rating because everything has been fantastic since going there and the staff is always courteous and friendly. The best Panera I have ever been too. Such good atmosphere and the employees are so friendly and helpful. I saw one of the managers help an elder lady transfer her hot drink into her own travel mug. I came during lunch hour (which is their busiest time) and the food came out fast and delicious. All my orders were correct and my latte tasted as good as I would expect it. I swear I don't know who honestly goes to Panera anymore. My wife, child and I decided to go one more time because we wanted something easy when quasi healthy. After looking at a menu that no longer describes what is in each dish, My wife ordered a turkey Kale panini, a Greek salad with chicken for me, and a grilled cheese for the baby. The food not only takes much longer to make now that they are "100% clean", but the food has gotten much worse. My Greek salad with chicken came out with no pepperoncini peppers with nasty chicken mounded on top. What is a Greek salad without those peppers? I mean a Greek salad's main ingredients are those peppers and feta cheese. My wife's sandwich was the biggest let down of it all. Comes out with old rubbery turkey mounded in the middle of two giant pieces of ciabatta with the kale, tomato, and mozzarella all plopped in the middle of the bread. So basically the whole sandwiches topping were piled in the middle of 1/8 of the total area of the bread. To finish my son's grilled cheese was torched and burnt. It was hard for me to chew it as an adult, let alone an 18 month old. Overall I gave this place 2 stars because their baked goods are still tasty, but major thumbs down to everything else. If you are in this shopping center and want a much better taste, value, and presentation of the same fare, go to Zoe's. read more
