Panera just re-opened their Dedham location across the parking lot from their old one, in a completely modern building with a drive thru, more updated outside seating, and plenty of parking. It's a much more appealing site than the former location was, especially since their is a drive through now! I had only been to the former location a few times because (to me at least) it's pointless to come here when the Walpole location was the same distance and has a drive thru. Now, I can go to either for the added amenity, which is a nice change of pace, especially when the MyPanera rewards sends out that "free bagel for every day of the month". It's just easier and more convenient and comfortable to have a drive thru, so I'm just very happy that Panera chose Dedham as a place to add one. Staff seem very friendly and efficient even without prior knowledge of having a drive thru at their location. My (somewhat) large order was out pretty quickly considering it being their second day in operation. And of course, the order was correct. I do their menu expanding quite a bit, which is always nice to see. It was also crazy to see how busy it looked inside and how full the parking lot was. The added Lemonade Stand outside was another bonus. My only complaint is that whoever designed the drive thru didn't really give any "leverage", so to speak, for vehicles in the minuscule drive thru lane. I'm a pretty good driver and I hit a curb twice because the lane for travel is so narrow. I could definitely see this being a problem, especially in the winter months (so just take caution on that!). Overall, great new Panera that is an extra for the greater Dedham area. Very pleased with the exterior of this location as well, new Panera logo.... brightens up the entire Dedham Plaza area (which was needed!). 5 stars, I'll be back soon! read more

So I love Panera! It amazing and I always eat here! This location is the absolute worst. I was waiting in the drive through for almost 30 minutes. The workers were very disconnected from their customers. After waiting for 30 minutes, my food was COLD and they didn't include everything that I ordered. went to panera today. i received confirmation that my order was ready at 11:44. i arrived at the store at around 12:00, which i admit, is later than the app said but i figured they store was in a lunch rush and it wouldn't be ready yet. 12:30 rolls around and i realize that my order was probably mistakenly picked up by someone else. i asked an employee if she could help. i wish i got her name, she was so kind to me! all i know was she had glasses and a hijab. i totally understand when a customer is being impatient and not wanting to be extra sweet, but this employee was. she handled the situation with grace. she let me know they had to remake my order, found the order on the computer, reprinted it, and made it her priority to make sure i was happy. thank you so much panera dedham, you're awesome. read more

Panera used to be one of my favorite stops for a sandwich but man has that changed. The tuna fish sandwich was by far one of the best you could get. A good healing of great tasting tuna, fresh bread, and just the right amount of lettuce, onion and tomato. Today it seems the sandwich is composed of 70% bread, 25% lettuce onion and tomato and 5% tuna. Seriously it's like eating a salad on a roll. For $11 this place is a rip off. read more

The place looks nice, however the setup and service are pretty terrible. They don't even have their full menu posted to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised to come home to this renovated Panera. This one is much bigger, cleaner, and tech savy then the original one. The service was great. I ordered food for take out and one of the workers walked it over to me where I was waiting. There is a screen that tells you what orders are being prepared and what is ready which is convenient as well. My only complaint is I was never asked whether I wanted an apple, baguette, or chips! Also was not asked about using my panera rewards card. Parking was full as well when I arrived. However, someone pulled out shortly after and I was able to park. I ordered my usual, the broccoli cheddar soup and a mediterranean veggie sandwhich which were both very yummy! read more

Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad service tonight. The lady at the drive-through kept cutting me off during my order (shocking that it was rung in wrong) and actually got mad at me when I said that I still had things to add to my order. When I pulled to the window, she actually started arguing with me that "everyone heard you say you didn't want anything else". Not even remotely true, but why are you arguing with a paying customer? She didn't give me my entire order, so I had to go inside, at which point another employee (Bailey) said that I drove off and left it. I took the bag that was given to me! Why on earth would I pay for food and then leave it? Even after I gave her my receipt, she still forgot my chips for two sandwiches. And the lid wasn't on the soup, so that spilled on my teenage daughter. Don't go to this Panera if you can help it!! read more

They are the slowest Panera I have been too. No matter what time you go. When ordering iced coffee they use the "crushed ice" from the soda machine instead of the ice designated for ice coffee/ drinks that doesn't water it down. In the Old Location (On the Side of Route 1 of Star Market) was much better in the way they prepped their foods. The new location is a lot smaller and less efficient in preparing food. I don't think the Drive-Thru is a plus, I personally think it doesn't work with production. I went once, Ordered at a Kiosk, Sat Down for 25 to 30 Minutes, Never got my food. I went home, Called Panera, They answered and finally made it. I went back and ate. All together, 1 Hour Wait. Also, Panera Drive-Thru are not a plus. There was a dead fly in my soup, I brought it up the man who brought me my food, and he said he would get me another, (I honestly wanted something else) and I was given a chocolate chip cookie as repercussion. I ordered a Mac & Cheese with an extra baguette and both baguettes were burnt. Too hard to even bite into. I also ordered a margarita pizza. They forgot to even make the pizza, so I had to ask them again to make it, which held up the drive through. When we received the pizza and opened it, it was clearly rushed: sloppy, full pieces of cheese that hadn't been melted, everything piled in the middle, and NOT PRE-CUT? I was there a few minutes before 1pm on 5/15/21. * I attempted to order at the counter instead of using a kiosk. I ordered 3 meals. I was about to pay when I realized that she had entered 1 meal. I repeated the other 2 meals. * She couldn't find one item (a caprese sandwich), so she called someone for assistance. I repeated my order. The new person said they didn't have it. At one point literally everyone in the restaurant was waiting for food (8 parties). * It took 20 minutes to get my food. * Even though I ordered my food to go, I was not offered utensils. I did catch this. * However, I didn't catch that my order was incomplete. * Someone had parked his car to block off the drive-through. I'm unclear if this was an employee or not. * They had plenty of staff, and they were hustling, and the woman in charge was apologetic. Listen, I'm not gonna bore you with a long review but to make a long story short, this panera bread sucks. My mom has had two horrible visits and today I had one. The last time my mom went there, she placed in order online. LUCKILY she checked her order in the parking lot because she was missing a sandwich, a cookie, and a pastry. She went back in and was told by one of the workers that they were confused about one sandwich, so they just left it out of the bag. Didn't call her to ask about the sandwich, just left it out of the order because they were confused. One of the workers even ended up yelling at my mom and the manager had to get involved. The manager put a bandaid on the situation by correcting the order and giving my mom a free sandwich coupon. Today I went there to order two things. One of those things was a cookie. Compared to other Panera Bread locations, this place is just average. I will most likely be back at some point, but only because it is very convenient for me compared to other Panera bread locations. The location in the Dedham mall Plaza is decent, but it is tucked over in the corner, and during busy lunch times, it can get very packed and congested. I have never been in a rush when I've been there, but I can imagine that if you have a limited time for lunch, this could be a huge source of frustration. The store itself is somewhat small compared to other Panera bread locations. This also adds to the lines and congestion inside the restaurant. It seems a bit small for the community it supports, specially right on route one, and next to the Dedham mall and legacy place. The staff, overall, is just decent. Never had any specific issues with them, but they seem to be just local kids hired to work a job, and that's the feeling you get. I stopped in the other day for breakfast, and I think they forgot I was there... And they were gossiping and joking about things behind the counter that some people would be offended by. It didn't personally bother me, but also, it was not appropriate work time conversation. There are definitely moms that would complain. The food seems consistent with other Panera bread branches, so there doesn't seem to be an issue there. Overall, it's just an average location, and certainly not the kind of place that one should go out of their way to go to. I dig any place which has a nice selection of salads (not your boring run of the mill garden greens with ranch dressing) and soups. props on their low fat options and nutritional information on their web-sight. I recently stopped at this Panera on my way to work. Barely anyone was in the place at 7 am, but I still had to wait a pretty long while for my bagel and latte. It just seemed like the staff did not have their act together. Upon entering, there were large clear garbage-sized bags full of bagels piled on one of the tables. I know Panera donates their leftover food, so I would guess that they were waiting for someone to pick them up, but it was really off-putting to see giant trash bags piled on the table. The cashier was very friendly. She was patient when I needed a minute to order. However, she toasted my bagel even though I stated I didn't want it toasted, and then remembered at the last minute. Another person had to make my latte, and a third person was standing right near the register, taking cookies off a tray and putting them in bags. It might have just been an off day, but it seemed like too much of the "back of the business" was present up front. read more

Let me say that I love Panera as a chain. However, this Panera really leaves a lot to be desired. The coffee is absolutely awful no matter how "fresh" the sign on it says it is. It's bitter and scorched and strong enough to walk right out the door. The silverware is usually always dirty - caked with something the dishwasher didn't get off - but the staff never seems to care, putting it on your tray anyway. Speaking of the staff, while they CAN be considerate, they're often terribly slow and unknowledgeable, not to mention more eager to chat with their fellow employees than the customers. If you're running short on time or just having a bad day in general, don't make it worse by stopping in to this Panera. EDIT: Where are your vegetarian options going, Panera? What's there is often covered with cheese or fatty dressing, not healthy at all. Bad, bad move. :( read more

This Panera was recent renovated and has moved from being next to the star market and is now further down the plaza. The place is very clean on the inside and modern looking as Panera restaurants tend to be. The outside seating is a fine touch and there are self serve computers inside for use. I find the computers make it a lot faster than waiting in line to place an order. The food is standard for Panera. Tasty but portions are on the smaller side for the money. Food is brought to your table in a timely fashion. Overall no complaints about this Panera location read more

It pains me to write a negative thing about a Panera, because I'm such a fan of their charitable actions and that dog-gone amazing mac and cheese. However, I would say that I can get that mac and cheese at any panera location, and if at all possible, in the future I will not choose this Panera. The customer service here is so mixed. When I was ordering, the cashier was busy sorting out other orders and staring off into space. I told her my order and asked for it "here" (as opposed to to-go) then three seconds later she asked me if I wanted it here or to-go....didn't I just tell you? While I ate, there were lots of loud, personal conversations among employees. I personally prefer not to have people calling over my head in a restaurant. There was one nice employee, who I saw spend a good ten minutes explaining the concept of the "chips, apple, or a baguette" to a couple who hasn't been before. Sorry Panera. Probably the worse panera I've been to- poor layout, slow slow wifi, and really filthy bathrooms. I ordered a tea and the cashier gave me a cup and then I had no idea where to go. My sandwich had decent ingredients but the avocado was two small small chunks- shouldn't it at least fill to all Sides of the bread at least? Plates piled high,trash all over floors and counters. I think they might have just opened and don't have much staff, but it's pretty unpleasant. Not impressed and will not be coming back. read more

Oh my God I'm I love with this place. If you want good food for great price bring your ass here. I love the design and it's a huge place so ull definitely will find place to sit. Broccoli Cheddar soup just rock! It's creamy rich and I'm not a big fan of broccoli but I eat whole bowl of that soup that how yammi it is. If you want something healthy try Greek salad or Caesar with chicken. I love the amount of vegetables it comes with and love their dressing. Croutons are awesome I even get then with my Greek salad. Panera is a strange, strange chain. Certain people fervently defend it, as if it were a mom and pop establishment that was well tied to the community. Others rail against it with bitter opposition. I find myself in the middle. Panera offers a more fresh fare than many chain sandwich shops, but I've not eaten anything in my visits here that has been anything more than unremarkable. The Dedham location is quite large, but even with this space, the line at lunchtime can get pretty congested. This isn't Panera's fault, however, and won't effect the rating. What does plant the rating firmly at three, however, is the previously mentioned fact that the food is decent, but has never filled me with an uncontrollable desire to return. This location does everything that other Panera locations do, and it does it well enough. From aesthetics, to prices, to the food you'll eat - it's obviously a Panera. But it gets the job done, and it can't be faulted for that. read more

This has become one of my new favorite study spots ( I prefer studying at cafes rather than libraries) The soups, salads, and drinks are delicious. My personal favorite soup is the broccoli cheddar soup and the caramel latte is delicious as well! It's location is convenient, right off route one near several shopping plazas. An update is in order. Staff has improved markedly. Seems like less turnover than before, and they have a few people that really hustle. It makes up for some of the slower ones. There is a grim-faced Hispanic woman that buses tables and replenishes coffees and she's the hardest worker of the bunch, though I wish she'd smile on occasion. There is also a dark haired young girl that is everywhere at once. Ringing orders, taking calls and filling in all along their line. Definitely management material. Food quality and consistency has also improved. The baked goods look (and taste) better, and the soup and salads are always top notch. Parking is difficult at all times and impossible during busy lunches. It's close to where I work so I'm good for once a week or so. read more

The iced tea dispenser had no cover, so you had people's germs from sneezing landing in it.I told the manager behind the counter..she could care less and didn't even acknowledge me talking to her. Stopped in for lunch and was extremely disappointed. One cashier working with a line around the corner should have been a sign. Ordered my sandwich plain because I have the palate of a toddler. Cashier asks what do you mean...I said meat and cheese only, nothing else. I sit down, take a bite, and it's full of stuff. I return to the counter and tell the man working my sandwich is supposed to be plain. He again asks "what do you mean?" I explain, he pulls the sandwich apart with his finger to check, and rolls his eyes. He remade the sandwich and handed me a burnt, although plain panini. I enjoy Panera's food and particularly enjoy that they have a drive thru, but the service is so incredibly slow. I've given them so many opportunities to redeem themselves, but the situation is always the same. You drive up and wait at least 20 minutes for your food. They put a spoonful of chicken on my daughter's "you pick 2". I got her a mac and cheese and 1/2 chipotle chicken melt. There was a thumb full of avacado and then tell me that everything is pre portioned like I don't go to Panera Bread every week. This had no care at all and was thrown together! Completely unsatisfied with the manager and how we were talking about portion sizes instead of him just charging me extra for the food so my soup doesn't get cold. Went to the register only to explain all over again, what happened what he said, and the young lady wanted to charge me $9?? I was told it was no longer the pick 2 because I'd already paid for it and it was a new/different order... Seriously? "Well it would have been $4.19 if you ordered it at the same time".. Corey the Manager comes and says the same but now its $7... By the time they brought the chicken and advocado (...which was now an obnoxious amount to be facetious) came up to my daughter, ahe was so hungry after the waiting, she'd just eaten the sandwhich and was %90 done...
