I used to order a Greek salad without peppers & onions and they have it on my receipt that I would like it made without those, but whenever I get it, it has a bunch of onions and peppers! It's annoying and happened every time. Now I just get a simple mac n cheese because it's good and they really can't mess that up. Overall this location is very clean and spacious. While the staff was friendly, they forgot to give one of the sandwiches, so I had to drive back to get the second. So glad to have a Panera nearby! My kids and I loved it. The kids mac n cheese is always a hit and so are the soups. We had an issue with our lunch but was quickly resolved when I brought it up to the staff. We also left there with a dozen chocolate chip cookies for our troubles. Seriously, how long with this place remain open? This review is not about the food, its Panera so the quality is pretty consistent. My guess there is only 1 way to make anything at Panera regardless if you make it in Derry, NH or Oshkosh, WI. What is a disaster here are the people that work there. You order a loaf of bread, sliced, if they get the width correct, thick or thin, and thats a big if they get that right, where do the ends and sometimes the next slice go?? Into slicer heaven? I want the packaging contract at Panera. You get a bag, then a box and then another bag to put it all in. The training that Panera tried to complete here is a total failure. It should not take me 10 minutes to purchase a baguette!!! So I will continue to stop by from time to time for some good pastries or a loaf of bread, but I do not see how this branch of Panera will survive past Labor Day 2013. I have come to my final conclusion....I HATE this Panera in Derry. The drive through was a big draw for me as I have difficulty walking. On 3 different occasions, at the drive thru, I have ordered the salads that I order inside at 2-3 different locations, including this one. The first time I got my salad home I was very disappointed as it was my favorite, the Cobb Chicken.EVERY leaf of lettuce was white, bitter and definitely the end of an unappetizing head. I let it go as there wasn't much I could do about it then. In addition, it was a large salad in which I only got a half a hard boiled egg. Everywhere else it's a whole one for the large.The second time I did take out, with a Greek half salad, was even worse. There was hardly anything in it and again white lettuce as bitter as could be. Not having yet learned my lesson, today I drove through and picked up a small plainCaesar and a large (?) Greek. $14.65 for both...remember no chicken in the Caesar... I could have made that salad at home for less than a dollar! Panera's prices are ridiculous, but for the convenience of a decent salad I would pay it which I do at many of the other locations. I kind of wonder if the drive thru orders are substandard as no one is going to come back and complain. I'm done with drive thru except for coffee until they find a way to ruin that. read more

I recently went to check out what all the great fuss was about this new Panera Bread in town. I love the food, and the atmosphere was great. HOWEVER, on two occasions coming there, I encountered a very disrespectful red haired employee (manager?) On both occasions, she yelled at the same employee. On the first occasion, she said to this employee "do you know how to count?" This poor girl then went to the register to care for customers, holding back tears. She deserves a gold medal for having to deal with a manager like that. The food was great, but that didn't set very well with me. At all. read more

You can always find healthy choices at Panera. They include a calorie count and use fresh, organic ingredients. The Derry Panera is unique because there is a drive-thru! You can call ahead and then pick up your food at the drive-thru-- great for when you are in a hurry! Even when you order at the microphone, they are very quick. I didn't realize that Panera has oatmeal until recently and I would recommend trying it. There is a strawberry version full of lots of FRESH strawberries and a dried cherry version that is good, too. I also recommend the (spicy) Thai Chicken salad and the new power bowls. read more

There aren't many other simple pleasures in life like this one...having 'Panera' on the tip of my tongue when a happy, surprise text from my 16 yr old, newly licensed driver, comes through asking me to (always Quickly!) pick a place to meet! I love Panera, but this location always finds a way to mess up my order. I work in the food industry so I understand to an extent. But if you're out of something, don't substitute it out and not tell me. It's happened on more than one occasion, and I'm not sure if it's poor training and or/poor management but I'm not impressed. Drive the extra 15 minutes and go to Manchester. Overall though, great food. read more

This is my first time dining at this location. The service here is ok but I don't appreciate how they shout your name rather than activating your buzzer. They give buzzers but don't even use them so that a waste of money for the franchise. Sadly they discontinued the Chinese chicken salad so I got the Thai one and I'm actually enjoying it a lot. The bathroom facilities were very small and just a single stall so that's a little disappointing. I appreciate that they have little lids for the water cups its a nice touch. I want to like this Panera and have given it several chances. Food is the usual reliable Panera fare but service is just awful. I have had to watch staff stand around an chat while I waited 15 minutes for a salad and soup. Last week I ordered by phone 45 minutes in advance for a pick up....arrived at the restaurant one hour after I had ordered and 15 minutes after the order was to be ready ...still had to wait 10 minutes...no apologies from the manager who prepared my order. I have been waiting forever for Panera to come here-and lucky us, we get a drive through! Long time fan of their bread-love the chewiness of it. And for someone who can never make up their mind on what to get, the pick two option makes the perfect meal. Their salads are wonderful and creative, their paninis are filled with quality ingredients and are nice and hearty, and you cannot go wrong with any of their soups. A side comes with the pick two, and I always choose the bread so I can dip it. So, so yummy. Sometimes we just come in to buy some loaves of bread-it is so reasonably priced and the quality can't be found at the grocery store's bakery department. The fresh baked desserts are so worth it too. My son just discovered the chocolate filled pastry, and the poor kid has to fend off his Mom and Dad when he's eating it. Perfect place for busy parents carting their kids from one activity to another that are sick of the usual garbage a/k/a McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, etc. They have a points card too, which works for me since I am there at least once a week. read more

The food is good, the place is cozy and quiet usually. It's always clean. The staff are friendly. My favorite is the broccoli and cheddar soup. I like the slushy green tea, they're frozen coffee drinks, and the hibiscus tea. When it's fall they have pumpkin coffee and pumpkin bagels which were really good. I have to say I love all of their bagels. I wish that they hadnt discontinued some of their cream cheeses, they used to have hazelnut cream cheese and sun-dried tomato cream cheese and I would put the sun-dried tomato on an asiago bagel and it was amazing and I would put the hazelnut cream cheese on a cinnamon crunch bagel. I really miss not having those two combinations anymore but all their bagels are good and their food is really good too. read more

I'm completely done with this location. In the last 6 visits I have not had an order made correctly, and today I was picking up a catering order, and they had no idea it was supposed to be ready. I'm now sitting here late for a pre-wedding groomsman photo waiting for a panicked staff to complete my order. I love Panera! Super cheap and super delicious. Good place to go when you want to meet up with friends. Sometimes the bread seems a little stale which is always upsetting but it's still delicious. I love the chicken Caesar sandwhich and the broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl! And the green tea is super yummy, but probably loaded with sugar. read more

I have always loved panera and their food; especially the great customer service. The staff are always (or so I thought) considerate and helpful. One day I witnessed something that I could not believe. A deaf women had some sort of special order and a manager had to be called over. I heard the employee say to the manger that the woman was deaf but then she started speaking at the deaf woman. Now maybe this affected me so much because my uncle is deaf and I have seen his struggle. But the ignorance of this MANAGER to speak at a deaf woman even after being told that she could not hear was quite offending and rather foolish. From now on I will resort to panera in manchester where they (hopefully) are more culture friendly and educated. read more

Stopped at the Panera for lunch today and was very, very pleased. An employee, Dacia, met us at the door. When we explained that I had Celiac she was extremely helpful with menu ideas. She assured us that we were in good hands there. As we were studying the menu for ideas, she returned with their gluten-free lists. We ordered; I had the Chicken Cobb salad and a mango smoothie. My husband had a bowl of soup and a ham and cheese sand with Pellegrino. We were very pleased. We will absolutely return in the future!!!! read more

Wrote them a complaint about the Steak and White Cheddar Panini. Response was rude and argumentative. My problem with the sandwich is that nowhere did the menu or server mention that the sandwich would have a pungent horseradish sauce on it!!! ( I happen to like horseradish but this was horrible!!). The sauce had such a strong flavor that you could not even taste any steak or cheese (and there was very little steak on it to start with). The response to my complaint admitted that they do not post that they put the sauce on but that I could have asked for a listing of their ingredients from the manager. What??? When you order a steak and cheese sandwich I don't think anyone asks for a listing of ingredients because you expect just steak and cheese, right? A condiment that has such a strong flavor should always be listed on all the menus as the sandwich could have been made without the horseradish. In any case, their food is definitely not the best for the price you pay and I won't be going back. P.S.: Many times the sales people who come to where I work will treat us to lunch and sometimes they bring Panera. I assume that it's because the sales people spend hundreds of dollars on these lunches (corporate credit card of course) that the sandwiches they bring us are much bigger and stuffed much more generously than any sandwiches I have bought myself when I have visited their restaurants. read more
