I hate to give this location three stars because the staff members are so nice and they are always eager to help - BUT - having visited the location numerous times now, I can say with certainty that there is a 80% chance that your order will either be missing an item or it'll be wrong altogether. I don't know what it is. I can see/hear the food prep folks reading off the orders and methodically putting the order together and yet it is almost never completely right. With that said, the staff really is great and I don't mind picking the tomatoes off of my meals every now and again in exchange for good service. read more

I visited the 4402 Fortuna Center Plaza location in Dumfries, VA on 21 April 2022 cafe #: 600965. Hands down the worst customer service experience I've had in my entire life! The cashier was absolutely horrible. I asked him about the new sandwich on the marketing display and he stated verbatim " it's a sandwich". I replied clearly I can see that! Can you please let me know what all comes on the sandwich? The cashier replied "it's a chicken sandwich." At that point I asked to see a manager to explain the details of the "chicken sandwich." The store manager came over and explained the details of the sandwich. I then decided that the sandwich in question was not for me and ordered the toasted Frontega sandwich. The cashier proceeded to charge me for both sandwiches $22.96. I informed the cashier that the full toasted Frontega sandwich does not cost $22.96. He then claimed to have removed the "chicken sandwich" and sent me on my way. Upon receipt of my order I determined that I had been rung up for the incorrect sandwich. When I returned to the register to explain the situation the cashier instructed me to go back to the pick up counter and explain the situation to them and have them make the correct sandwich for me. I informed the cashier that there is a price difference between the two sandwiches and I wanted my change. He proceed to become irate. The store manager returned and refunded me my .75 cents. The cashier then proceeds to shout "really ma'am? Really? It must be fun? Really .75 cents!?!" I promise I cannot make this up. I proceeded to ask for both the cashier and the manager's names. They refused to give me the cashier's name. I obtained his name later from the receipt. I informed them both that I planned to report the issue to corporate. They didn't seem to care. The cashier did not seem to have this attitude with other patrons who were of a lighter hue. People of color beware visiting this location. read more

They messed up my to go order, & didn't know until I was already home. I called & thought I'd have to go back, but the manager himself brought me the rest of my meal with a few bonus cookies! Totally awesome! read more

Panera is one of my favorite 'go to' restaurants. the food is fresh and priced right. I've been a Panera customer for over 10 years.

Foods good, but watch them like a hawk at the register. Bagel prices are $14 for 18, $13 for 13 with two cream cheeses, and $10 for 12. If you ask for 18 bagels, you should be rung up for 18. Not a dozen and 6 individual bagels. Not 13 and 5. Not 13 and 12! 18!!!! There's an $8-9 difference between what you want and what they charge. Doesn't help when the manager doesn't get it and seems to be being trained by the bakery person. Just sayin'. read more

I love Panera Bread. It's one of my favorite places to go and have yummy soups, salads or sandwiches. I came in on a Saturday and ordered soup. It was not crowded at all on this day. I think I just missed the lunch rush....lucky me! :) I asked the teenager behind the counter what was in certain soups (because of food allergies) and she just kept saying, "Well, you know." (No, I don't know...that's why I'm asking you. The worst part was that she had the ingredient card next to her cash register.) It was a very frustrating experience dealing with her. She seemed completely unfocused and lackluster in doing her job. Finally someone else came over and answered my questions. I just don't think that was necessary, simply because a teenager wants to be lazy. The soup was delicious of course and so was the sandwich. It just stinks that the service was mediocre. read more

I always ordered avocado blt on regular white bread whenever I come to panera, but today at this location, the sandwich was not up to panera standards. It was filled with mayonnaise, it made the bread very shoggy I couldn't finished the sandwich, i was kinda disappointed...I gave it 3 stars because the staff were friendly. read more

Stephanie is the most unpleasant person to encounter in the morning. She is never friendly. Never smiles. She makes you regret coming. She messed up my order last week and then had an attitude when, at the manager's request, I came in to have it corrected. I'm so sorry I had to spoil her day because she had to make 7 extra steps in the direction of her manager to have the charge voided. She should be so lucky. Some of us have problems making steps, PERIOD as she could have seen by my walker. She is blessed to be able to work. Due to cancer, I couldn't for 7 months. The reason why I stopped by in the morning is so that even partially disabled, was to get breakfast so I can make my way in to do something that others take for granted: work. And I do so with a smile, encouraging those around me because I, for one, knows that it could be worse. Stephanie should go to the Potomac Mills location because they are awesome. She could learn a lot about customer service. This particular location at Fortuna Plaza has mixed up my orders a couple of times so I'm not exactly their biggest fan. I have gone to many Panera Bread's all over this country. Sadly, this is the worst. The good news is that even with the mix ups, this still isn't the worst experience overall. They're still pretty good but just the worst Panera Bread so far. read more

Panera Bread does not cook any meat on location. It is not possible to get raw meat there. There are no cooks. There great people there that prepare sandwiches and soup, along with some great bread. read more

Ordered dinner to go for the family ( a panini, soup, and tuna sandwich.) Soup was great as expected, tuna sandwich was mediocre and the panini was burnt. I thought about giving this Panera's four stars, because of the parking, but I realized that this is slightly out of their control. They share the shopping area with Starbucks, and their drive through. It is slightly easier if you park in the Target parking lot and walk over. It's close to the house, and they have an app which I can order food and pick it up. The food is always fantastic. The speed is somewhere in between fast food and fancy restaurant. I love the app feature which allows you to order from your table, and they deliver. read more

I would come into this place and by the pastries they had a sign which said "If you don't see it, a short wait and it will be here" or something to that effect. So I wanted an orange scone and when the manager said they had none I pointed to the sign. The end result was the sign vanished, never to be see again and the manager said that I was SOL on the orange scone. Then later I realized they had a note on their menu that said if they didn't make your order perfect, for you to let them know and they would give you a free pastry. Well they would screw up my order every time, usually failing to give me the drink cups for the drinks I paid them for. Often that was a REAL bother as I would place my order, get out of line, stupidly go to the soda machine only to find I had no cups. I would come back to find a long line so getting my cups was a REAL chore. And the net result was after getting about 4 free pastries the menu vanished, the one that said if the order was wrong you got a free pastry. So they obviously realized they screw up too much to make such an offer. I've also learned that they make their sandwiches pretty fast. I used to get my drink cups and go to the soda machine and be trying to get my drinks when the pager would go off and they would be yelling my name. A little disconcerting. Now I don't bother to get the drinks until I get the sandwiches. Sandwiches are usually pretty good which is why I keep coming back. read more

Ordered (online) 2 pick 2's and both were wrong tonight. This Panera bread has never messed up my order before, so I didn't check the pick up bag. I ordered extra on almost everything with my salads and didn't get it. We only received one dressing, so I had to split that small container with my daughter. I also ordered the half grilled cheeses, one with extra cheese, and both were put in the same container - very hard to tell which had extra cheese. I also felt that having them in the same container was very odd. The 2 pick 2's were for 2 different people and should have been in separate containers. Especially if this was a work order for coworkers. Thank goodness this order was just for my daughter and I for home. I'm disappointed tonight (had the taste for greatness) and will probably try one of the other Panera bread locations in my area from now on. read more

Breakfast sandwich is very good.Ciabatta bread is so much better than baguette. Souffle is not good at all but Pesto/Mazarella/tomato and egg white went perfect with ciabatta bread. Coffee sucks here so wimpy but sandwich is good. little too loud. read more

I waited for almost 20 mins for a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee. So many orders went before mine and the poor ladies in the back kept confusing orders and I got the wrong order twice and had to open it up and find it wasn't mine and instead of replacing the food that I just touched when I opened it to inspect, they just gave it to the person that ordered it and kept it moving. Panera Bread at Fortuna Center Plaza is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat or crank out some homework. I've been here many times and the food is almost always exactly what I ordered. I usually get their Bacon Turkey Bravo or Frontega Chicken sandwich. Panera's hazelnut blend is very good and is fresh every hour. The other caveat is their wifi isn't the fastest. However, Starbucks is right next door and the wifi zone overlaps if you sit closer to Starbucks. read more

Came here on Sunday 5/15 and busy as most Sunday mornings are but their operation was a complete disaster. One bus boy bringing food who seemed to have no idea where any of the food went despite their trackers, staff that was loudly arguing as they were preparing food, and the food we received was unacceptable. Our bagel breakfast sandwiches were sloppily tossed together and tasted nasty and the hot chocolate had been sitting so long the whipped cream had completely dissolved. Everything was lukewarm at best and tasted terrible so who knows how long everything was sitting out. The staff was clearly disorganized, overwhelmed, and did not get along which showed in everything that was going on. Some training is in order because everyone needs to get a clue. It will be a very long time before I want to go back to Panera (if ever). read more

I have been here a few times and the food has always been great. There is a wide selection and I have never not liked any of the food. The service is good and when there is a lot of people waiting they generally open up another register to keep the wait time down. Clean and comfortable environment with good food. Can't go wrong with this Panera. I've been here a couple of times and will continue to come with my family. I won't be back to this restaurant! My internet order was a half hour late with little to no business in the store. I checked for the correct number of items but unfortunately not for the correct items. We only received 2 of the 3 cookies that we ordered. One of them was burnt. I ordered a bacon turkey bravo. They totally left off the bacon. And I expect the ingredients in my sandwich to actually be IN my sandwich. Went to eat breakfast here Sunday morning. The lines were not moving, our order was skipped over several times and we ended up waiting for 20 minutes to get out breakfast sandwiches.
