The wait was ridiculous and then when I went in to get my sandwich fixed the employees were walking around rolling their eyes when customers who were still inside were trying to get last minute purchases even though they were closed. I had a bad experience. This is the second time I have eaten at a Panera bread, and the second time my order has been wrong. I ordered a "Turkey and Avocado BLT" with only turkey, avocado, mayo, and cheese, with half a baguette on the side, which already came with the order. Upon trying Panera for the first time today, I was both very impressed with the freshness, quality and taste of the food while being extremely disappointed in the amount of food that $11.00 dollars got me. I ordered the pick two; Steak and Arugula 1/2 sandwich (could not taste the cheese on the tiny 1/2 sandwich) and the 1/2 Quinoa Salad. Both were delicious but I walked away hungry!! I NEVER EVER walk away hungry because I just don't eat a lot at a time. I always have leftovers, usually enough for another meal or a hefty snack. I don't mind paying higher prices for quality food and I don't require leftovers but I should have enough to fill me up. The staff were very nice and it was clean. Maybe it was a fluke, I don't know but management should be aware and customers shouldn't still be hungry. I'm willing to try again. read more

Usually great service but the last time i went they forgot my order, i waited 20 mins before i asked the busser where my food was, he told me to go over to the kitchen area. They didn't believe me and were looking at me like i was crazy even though i showed them my receipt and everything. They didn't comp anything on my meal and didnt offer me any free treats. Staff is all really pleasant and smiley. Place is crowded at lunch and can be hard to find a table. They offer low calories filling options for lunch. I like the pick two: kale chicken sandwich and low fat chicken noodle soup. Only downside to that is its a bit pricey. read more

We were so excited when Panera came to Garland, but this store really needs to get it's early morning act together. I order from there frequently, and it's not ready most times I get there, but today, I ordered an hour ahead of my pickup time, got there and NOTHING was ready nor had anyone even started on it, and no, they weren't busy. One gentleman, David, grabbed my ticket and tried to ask the people in the bakery about it, and the only "help" he received was from Melissa (Manager?) and she said, "I've never seen that; don't know anything about it." Many of us are in the customer service business, so my thought is instead of blurting that out in front of your customer, why not say, wow, I haven't seen that, let me help get that going...She was just incredibly rude. Also, they did not have one of items I ordered at all. David asked Melissa about it and she said they didn't have any because they had to fill a catering order. REALLY???....Then we he tried to help me with substitutions, there was a large display of chocolate croissants, and I told him that online it says those are out of stock. Panera, if you are going to offer very early morning pickup, then everyone needs to be ready, AND there needs to be enough people there to do it.....and a few lessons in Polite 101 would not hurt either. Not happy with the service and the quality of food. They didn't bring my kid Hot Chocolate for 25 mins and then when we went to the counter and reminded them, the guy just picked the cup that was placed next to the register and handed it over like nothing had happened, it was fair to call it "Cold Chocolate" at that time, so we asked for a new one and he called the manager, we explained that it's been sitting ready at your counter for last 25 mins and no one served, so they replaced it with a new one. I bought a toasted butter bagel and that was not fresh either, was cold and too hard after the toast. My son bought a Chocolate cookie and it was as hard as a hockey puck. 10 mins after we left my kid threw up and was sick for the next couple days. So overall it was a very bad experience. Their new process, where the orders go through the kitchen, creates a bottleneck for orders as simple as this. 10 minutes for a toasted bagel, that is barely toasted. Good Food, but EXCELLENT STAFF and UNBELIEVABLE CUSTOMER CARE!!!. My daughter and I stopped for lunch (excellent soup, salads, and sandwiches), but when we paid and left, my car wouldn't start. worse yet my daughter's phone had died, and I had left my phone in the charger at home. We were stranded. However, an employee (G. Cardoza, # 1839) used his tablet computer to look up the phone number for my insurance towing service, lent me his personal phone to call the service, and then provided us constant updates from his personal phone as the tow truck driver coordinated our pick up. I usually love Panera, but this location is pretty hit or miss. There is a pretty good chance that you'll be waiting in line for 10 because the cashier is chatting with a friend that came in (hugs and all) and then receive a soggy sandwich. But then I had a decent experience the last time I went. This place is close to home & I want to like it. It's a serious lottery each time you come on if they will get your order correct. I used to chalk it up to the place being new, it's no longer new, and my order is still wrong more times than right. I have more bad examples of customer service there than good. If it weren't a chain with a drive through, I do not see how it would survive. However, it will for those very reasons. I had a terrible experience today. My friend ordered in front of me, but when it came time for me, I had to wait over 5 minutes while 3 people stood around and didn't acknowledge me. Finally I asked one of them if they could please take my order. The person had trouble signing on to one of the registers, and then said "this is really funny--I can't sign on so I'll have to get my manager". Another employee came up and said she could get my order going. By the time I found someone to take my order, my breakfast sandwich was already completed and given to me. I sat down with my sandwich and coffee but when I came to get a refill on coffee, 2 of the coffees were out. Again I had to find someone to ask about coffee, and they said it was being made and would be a few minutes. I came back up after 10 minutes and the coffee was still not there. Been a while since visiting Panera and was very disappointed, the salad had limp, old bruised lettuce with mostly lettuce ribs. The chicken panini was decent except that the avocado was far from being ripe with a very grainy texture and the taste was horrible. I ordered a pick 2: Soup and Chicken Avocado Cobb Salad (they had to modify the new Goddess Cobb). I was charged full price for my meal and nothing was said about being out of anything. Just sent me on my merry way. When the food came to the table, low and behold no avocados and a very small slice of bread and not the usual baguette. I asked the lady about the avocados and baguette.... she said, "Oh we are out of both" as if it was typical. After finishing the slice of bread, I asked for additional slice and was told they were out. This is my 2nd (same) experience at this particular Panera being out of something. Whether is be dressing, avocados, bread.... Yep, that's right I said BREAD!! How is it that a restaurant named "Panera BREAD" runs out of bread and not just one kind of bread, but "ALL Bread" is beyond comprehension. i went here with my my mom, my friend, and her mom. we were expecting to get a great meal to enjoy together, however, that wasn't the case. when my mom and i ordered our soups and noodles, we had to send them back because the bowls were freezing cold. i ordered the Edamame Soy- Miso Noodle Soup and it was way undercooked. the beans were so undercooked i was barely able to eat it. the noodles were ok but they weren't fully cooked. my edamame soup didn't have any salt whatsoever. not to mention that i didn't get my side of french baguette and had to personally ask myself to get it. my friend and her mom ordered sandwiches and they came out pretty good, but her mother's bread was cold. overall, i would not recommend going, but caution of service could be better. read more

This location opened up in the last few months and we decided to give it a try. On the good side, this restaurant seems larger than most of the other Paneras and unlike some of the others where busing tables seem to be an issue, the tables in this location are very clean. On the bad side, and I would say this applies to all Paneras, the menus seems extraordinarily expensive for basically, a sandwich shop. I had a half sandwich and bowl of soup. My wife had a half sandwich and half salad. Add two drinks=$30. Far too much for this meal. Also, we weren't offered a choice for a side item-just received the standard baget.This last criticism would also apply to all Paneras: The menu board is very confusing. Too many choices and half items prompt almost every customer to ask for guidance in their selections. Also, since Panera promotes healthy eating choices, try their lemonade containing 34 grams of sugar and unlike Chick-fil-A, Whataburger and others, offering no low cal choice. I have been to this location multiple times where I have had to wait at least 3-5 minutes for the person to even greet me at the drive thru window...this should be a matter of seconds. Then on one occasion, I got home and they gave me a breakfast sandwich that was not only not what I ordered but it wasn't even on the menu. The next time I went, it was around 9 am and they were out of coffee and it would be a 7-10 minute wait (not just one type coffee but multiple kinds of coffee). And the final time I've been, they were out of every kind of cream cheese except the plain. I'm just not sure how more unorganized they could possibly be. I only kept going there because of the drive up window for the convenience since I have a small baby that I didn't want to take into a restaurant during flu season. I won't be back though.
