I visited Main Street Deli at the recommendation of my plus one who raves about how great they are. He eats here at least once a week most weeks and is always recognized by staff. When I walked in, we were immediately greeted and asked if I needed any assistance with the menu. Catch owner Susie in the background of this video making sure every customer enjoys their meals. Chef Larry in the back whips up the freshest meals, you can't get quality like this at other places. And say hi to Perry who is a main stay at this restaurant. Susie and Larry are the dream team couple for running this local business! There's a reason they're consistently voted the top restaurant on Trip Advisor- the perfect restaurant when visiting Garland for that small town feel. It feels good to #supportlocal. They're great for catering too. They sell a variety of sandwiches (deli, grilled..), subs, Greek specialities, burgers, salads, soups, and wraps. After talking with Susie and hearing her story of coming to Garland and trying to make it, I knew I had to try their gyro sandwich, homemade falafel, Greek salad, and hummus with pita and it did not disappoint. Also loved their extremely crispy sweet potato fries. Being on Main Street and near the industrial area, they get a lot of workers coming in on their break. Susie looked like she knew everyone! And everything that the others ordered looked so good. I'm definitely going back and trying their other wraps and sandwiches... so many great options to choose from and the service is really unparalleled.

We stopped here on our trip, and we weren't disappointed! I had the Pepper Turkey Sub which had black pepper, sliced turkey, pepper jack cheese, and jalapeños. It was definitely something different and delicious! I also got fries & a drink. My parents ordered a grilled corned beef reuben, and split that and an order of fries. All of us were very happy with our lunch stop!

I don't get five stars very often, but this place absolutely deserves it. Not only are the sandwiches totally delicious but the owners are so welcoming and kind. I actually thought maybe someone had tipped them off that I was coming because they were so nice to me that the boyfriend tells me no they treat everyone that way. The restaurant is really clean. They have a very menu. I cannot wait to go back.

Well, talk about a hidden gem. I had this place bookmarked but could not tell you where I heard…read moreabout it. It is basically a little luncheon oasis dropped right in the middle of a gigantic industrial park. On the drive over I was seriously questioning my Yelp choices. It is that kind of location. But trust Yelp and sometimes you are handily rewarded, which we absolutely were. We came after a few hours strolling around at the Botanical Gardens, so we rolled in around 1:30 and there were still plenty of people there. I can only imagine at noon this place is packed, and honestly it should be. My biggest complaint is the menus. There is one above the counter that does not include everything, and then a different, more complete version if you scan the QR code at the table (But 2 different navigations even on the website with slightly different menus). Do yourself a favor and look it up ahead of time so you are not standing there making panic decisions. There is a half sandwich and half soup combo (Not on the board but online menu), which is definitely the move. I got the pozole, which you should absolutely order, and a half grilled cheese on their housemate sourdough. Normally not my go to, but I was trying not to be completely stuffed since we had dinner plans. And they bake their own sourdough, so I had a strong feeling it would be great, and it delivered. Toasty and melty, American and cheddar. My husband got the southwestern wrap, and my friend went with the half club and half tomato soup. She immediately regretted not getting the pozole and the half birria sandwich, which tells you everything you need to know. Also need to mention the snickerdoodle. Not much to look at, kind of humble, but it completely makes up for it with flavor and that perfect soft texture. Go ahead and get the cookie. You are not here to make responsible decisions. Bottom line, it may feel like you are driving into the middle of nowhere, but keep going. This place is worth it.

The restaurant was probably 75% full and it was just 2 of us, so easy peasy. Amber(I really hope that's right) was a great waitresses. She greeted us and asked if we wanted anything besides the waters that had already been given. She then gave us a few minutes to look over the menu... Side bar: I guess I'm just old, but I want a real menu, not a QR code to scan. We looked over the menu and decided on 2 small pizza to split. Fourmaggio, which almost always my go to if available at the pizza place, and the Potato and Pancetta. Both pizzas were great, but the Potato and Pancetta was the winner for us! Really cool little spot that seems like a hipster sports bar. We don't live close, but will probably go in the future if we're in the area.

(just a fun fact) They seem pretty proud of that fact too, considering there's now a giant cowboy hat sculpture, "The Big Hat," right across the street. It's impossible to miss. Anyway, we weren't there for hats. We were there for pizza. First, a public service announcement. Figure out what you want before you walk in because the menu is only available through a QR code, and it is awful. You scroll. Then you scroll some more. Then somehow you're still scrolling. It feels less like ordering dinner and more like reading the terms and conditions for a mortgage. The two of us ordered a large pepperoni pizza, which turned out to be ambitious. We ate leftovers for days. Next time I'd definitely order the smaller size. My only real complaint about the pizza itself was the pepperoni. There was just TOO MUCH of it. Sure, I could have asked for "light pepperoni", but then I'd be paying full price for less topping, and that just goes against my personal philosophy. I'd love to see a "light pepperoni" option priced accordingly. ALSO not it is the good and greasy cupping pepperoni, kinda spicy. The pizza was also a little unevenly prepared. About half had a thicker crust while the other half was noticeably thinner. I definitely preferred the thinner side. Service was perfectly fine, the bathrooms were clean and nice, and the pizza was good overall. Just be prepared for the QR code marathon before you get to enjoy it.
