The baked feta dip is a NO reorder for us. It was way too liquified and bland. Lots of pita bread to go with the mix which is a good thing! Unfortunately, some of the service took away from the experience. Our waiter made several notable mistakes (wrong food) (wrong drinks) and was slow with refills, which became frustrating over the course of the meal. We got tired of requesting refills. Hmph! I think our server was stoned/high/or hung over or a combo of all. Come on, plus cleanliness is a big thing in food service. He lacked most of these attributes. My poor iron skillet chicken and potatoes were covered in this greasy sauce. I couldn't taste any of my food because it was literally smothered in sauce. Boo! My friend's short rib Benedict was again smothered in some sort of hollandaise sauce. It's just too much on any of the sauce! A little goes a long way. Chef, don't be so heavy handed. The bacon wrapped dates are decent and again smothered in aoli. You get 4 dates with each order. The crispy brussel sprouts are really yummy! The wild mushrooms and asparagus risotto is ok, as is the Ferah ten spice chicken. (Again, everything is smothered in some sort of topping). A real turn off for all of us in the group since we shared. The best feedback I can give your restaurant as a returning customer is to STOP drowning all your wonderful dishes in aoli or sauce. You don't need all that! Your food can stand alone without the smothering of sauce. The drinks are fantastic specially, the espresso martini and ginger snap! The vibes are immaculate at this Mediterranean eatery in Firewheel. The decor is beautiful. Their hummus plate is perfection - a generous portion of smooth, salty hummus with pita bread and vegetables. Their wine list is quite decent. I've heard a lot of good things about the Sunday brunch - but, they don't feature traditional brunch foods. It is a cafeteria style set-up with a variety of Mediterranean dishes. I found the price for brunch prohibitively expensive. This is a great place for lunch - light, delicious and elegant. read more

I had never really had Mediterranean food before. Overall, it is really good. I had the lamb chops with skillet veggies and truffle fries, and of course sweet tea. There are four chops, but I could only eat two. It is very filling. It comes with this condiment that tastes like cucumber and dill mixed in (maybe) sour cream, but I'm not sure. It was refreshingly delicious. I'm not sure if it was meant for the veggies or chops, but I dipped my veggies in it. The truffle fries were my favorite part of the meal. They were perfectly crispy and seasoned with a shaved cheese, maybe, not sure. They were so good. For dessert, I had the pomegranate cheesecake. It was interesting. Good interesting. It was a nice ending to the meal, not overpoweringly sweet. Overall, this was a nice dinner with an attentive server. We had the opportunity to have some lunch here, for a friend's birthday. Our server was very attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself is very nice & clean. We felt comfortable sitting at our table with 8 guests. All of our orders made their way out in a timely manner. Portions were okay, but for the price, we weren't blown away... The desert we chose was the apple pie baklava, and the only reason this isn't getting one star. That was pretty good, came with Dulce de leche ice cream though the baklava was basically just puff pastry around an apple pie filling. Still it was pretty good. I was looking to end my trip to the Dallas area on a high note. After seeing all the positive reviews for this place and finding it in easy driving distance of our hotel, Ferah became my dinner of choice -- and I'm really glad it did! My parents and I visited here on Saturday, June 10, for dinner. This restaurant, to my surprise, is actually in an outdoor shopping complex/mall. Not a problem, just not what I was expecting. As such, parking is abundant and pretty easy, and of course you can walk by or easily access a variety of mall-type stores. The actual restaurant is on a corner. It looks a little dark from the outside but inside you're greeted by beautiful, modern, and bright decor. We came pretty late on Saturday (probably around 8 PM) and so it wasn't particularly busy. We were seated quickly and our server, Chansey (sp?) greeted us cheerfully. Chansey was absolutely a highlight! Sweet, friendly, conversational, patient, and prompt. She gave us space to peruse the fairly extensive menu and delivered our food to us quickly once we ordered it. The menu is neat. I like the Tex-Med theme -- it's a fun play on Tex-Mex. There should be something for almost everybody here, which is always nice. My parents each got a barbacoa short rib taco (sans cilantro relish) and split an order of both hummus and spinach and artichoke dip with pita. I got in on the appetizer action and enjoyed both of them! The hummus was smooth and bright and I really enjoyed the lightly grilled taste of the pita. We all felt the spinach and artichoke dip was a little too heavy on the spinach and a little light on the cheese and artichokes, but it was also enjoyable. My mom, who I thought would be least enthusiastic about this dining experience as she's not normally a huge Mediterranean fan, has mentioned how much she loved her barbacoa taco at least three times since then! So that one is definitely a winner. :) As for me, I ordered the grilled chicken on pita with no onions and added a side of truffle fries. I thought the size of the pita was quite large given the price! Eventually the weight, heat, and juicy/wateriness of the toppings did get to the bread and it became a little messy and hard to eat, but the quality of the ingredients was clearly there. Juicy chicken and crisp, flavorful veggies! And the truffle fries were sooooo good. To our shock and joy, Chansey brought out to us a complimentary order of baklava to finish out our dining experience. I'm not sure what we did to deserve such a treat, but it was such a fun and delicious surprise. Honestly, it might've been the best food item of the night, too! It was arranged beautifully on a super cute board cut in the shape of Texas, with a few poofs of whipped cream and a delightful berry coulis/drizzle. The baklava was crisp, sweet, and crunchy from the nuts. The berry drizzle cut the sweetness perfectly, and there was just enough for each of us to round us out to the perfect level of fullness. Again, not sure how we got so lucky, but thank you so much!! As a result of this kindness, we got the Dallas send-off I'd hoped for. :) I will absolutely tell my friend and her fiancé (whom we were visiting nearby) what a positive experience we had, and we will be back for more yumminess the next time we visit the area! Out of everything, my favorites were the hummus and the goat cheese, but I wouldn't say no to any of it and I'd 100% order it again. Service was very good, our waitress was very attentive checking on us frequently. Nothing worth mentioning about the buffet though! Sausage and Bacon were decent, eggs were dry! Pilaf and couscous were good, veggies were under seasoned. Tender beef was rubbery, chicken was the best part of the menu. Kids liked the pancakes and croissants. Sliders were big miss! Finally tried this restaurant. Very limited menu. Didn't see anything that really appealed to me so I went with the burger. Ordered medium rare. Came out very well done. The flavor was fine, but the beef patty was tough (since over cooked). The kids meal of grilled chicken and rice was chicken thigh meat-gross, and the rice had absolutely no flavor. Won't be going again and won't be recommending Ferah Tex-Med to anyone. At least they comp'd the burger. read more
