My wife and I pulled into the Harrisonburg Panera Bread looking for coffee and a quiet place to recharge, and this location delivered. The dining area is very clean -- spotless tables, bright windows, and tidy floors. The staff was warm and welcoming, and our order came out quickly. We stayed for a bit to catch up on some work, and the WiFi was strong and reliable, which was a huge bonus while traveling. The whole space felt comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of. If you're passing through Harrisonburg and need coffee, food, or a chill place to sit for a while, this Panera is a great stop. Will definitely swing by again next time we're in the area! read more

This is the second time I've been to this Panera. First time was about a year ago and then today 10/11/2025. The first time we were on a trip and passed through the town. Ordered in the restaurant and the service was ok but the salad was missing a lot of things. Today I ordered online to pick up. A salad with chicken and tomatoes as well as other things. Picked it up and there's no chicken or tomatoes. I asked for both and I was given them in separate containers which was great. When I spoke with the manager who was cleaning tables, she stated that it happens when they're busy. No apology, just excuses. The restaurant was pretty empty and I ordered when it was pretty empty. It's homecoming tonight in this town, no one is at Panera creating a busy restaurant. This was their second chance. read more

Meet up with my friends before the football game here yesterday for lunch on the patio and had a great time catching up and sitting outside. They have a large patio with plenty of tables and seating with umbrellas to block the sun. They went inside but because I had my dog with me I ordered on the app for pick-up and my food was ready in less than 5 minutes - faster than any of theirs! I ordered the you choose two and went with the broccoli mac and cheese with half chicken chipotle avocado flatbread melt and passion papaya green tea. Everything was very good and the ambiance inside (when I picked up food and used the restroom) was great. Restrooms were clean and the staff were friendly when I asked for a small bowl to put water in for my dog. Easy to find from interstate and a very busy store. They did a good job keeping up with the flow and getting our orders right. No complaints here! read more

Deserve zero stars. Out of every Panera I've ever traveled and been to this by far was the most disappointing experience I've ever had. Eating meat or eggs I ordered a sandwich breakfast wrap without bacon and without eggs but added avocado paid for extra avocado and added other vegetables as well. The wrap look like it had been slapped together hardly had any ingredients at all in it and the avocado that I paid extra for was not in there as well. When I went in to show my disappointment and tell them that the avocado was missing they gave me a cup of avocados to put in the sandwich myself. A complete lack of care with what they're putting together here and this restaurant. And on Christmas Eve when people are traveling and just want a warm breakfast sandwich. Was feeling a bit sick today, so I was craving cheddar broccoli soup. I signed up for the unlimited sip club. I got me a free ginger ale with the soup including a muffin. I got it for delivery, It was so flavorful and warm. The French baguette was a little hard to chew. It somewhat tasted stale. But after dipping it in the soup. It was alright. I love panera, and love getting delivery when i'm at JMU because we don't have that at home. I ordered lunch for me, my boyfriend, and our friend; and the entire experience was a mess. The food arrived, but all 3 meals were messed up. They messed up one, forgot half a "you pick 2", and completely forgot the last sandwich. When my boyfriend called to complain the manager, Robin Collins, started the conversation by laughing about the problem. We found her response to be incredibly inappropriate. She was very short with my boyfriend, and it was only after a long conversation that she agreed to give a refund for the forgotten items. It was the tomato basil bread which I hadn't tried before but it was good tasting. I also love that they have the kiosks inside because I like to look at all the menu items and their pictures. To start off, I ordered through the Panera app, curbside pickup. When my order was finished being prepared, I was informed by the app that they would bring it out to my car. I waited 10 minutes before I realized no one was coming. I head inside to pick up my order and am greeted by a employee who says "I swear to god if this is another fucking order". I dismiss it because it's busy, but I see an order crammed into the corner and I ask if this is my curbside pick up order, and the woman says "idk I guess" and then informs me that they did did not have bread bowls. I was therefore charged for a bread bowl but given a cup. My order was also incredibly cold, and my hot chocolate did not have anything in it that I ordered other than the chocolate. In other news, I wouldn't recommend the Panera on Burgess Road. Shitty service, and shitty food quality. read more

I don't understand all the bad reviews. This was a Panera, and the beauty of that is that it's just like every other Panera in America. The staff was nice, and even though the instant machine said they were out of bread, they went out of their way and gave me a slice of delicious Panera bread. I was in the other day and saw the management team and other surrounding coworkers degrading and putting down a lovely girl who seemed like she was just starting out there (maybe was in her first few days of training). she seemed very uncomfortable as to what was happening especially in front of customers such as myself, I almost wanted to say something but thought that leaving this review was eye-opening enough, and if it isn't then that shows us what the problem is as if it wasn't blatantly obvious already the management. Stopped in on a Friday PM after ten hours on the road. Standard Panera fare, above average quality for the price point. Clean, comfortable store. What stood out was the quality of service from the very knowledgeable and pleasant person who took our orders. Over the top, even for Panera where my expectations for quality service are quite high. Have never had breakfast at Panera. Will stop in before hitting the road tomorrow AM, they earned my return business. read more

my daughter ordered turkey sandwich, got 2 (standard loaf bread), I ordered a half frintego, got a quarter and the recipe is totally different and I didn't like it. Prices have doubled... $50 for 3 people to eat lunch, sandwiches melted into paper that could not be removed, charged for extra drinks we didn't order! Overall awful lunch at exorbitant price. Wife and I stopped in today for lunch. I ordered the French Onion Soup in a bread bowl, and she ordered Chicken Noodle Soup and a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. My soup in the bread bowl was good, never had a bad one at Panera. My wife's soup was only slightly warm, and her Grilled Cheese Sandwich was not grilled, it wasn't even toasted. It was partially melted cheese on white bread. Probably should have given them one star, because a place named Panera Bread should know how to make Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. read more

Also as I was waiting I heard her talking about me and how I was being a pain, but to add on top of that she also treated her employees like dogs she clapped at them and was getting upset with them. We went through about 5 menu items that were "out" before we had to settle for our 3-4th choices. It was good food and service but this isn't a mom and pop that is sold out after something is gone. Manager legit yelled at a customer while the customer was asking if his order was done. I could not read her name tag - she was a tall woman middle aged. I told this same manager that there was no soap in the men's restroom before I saw her embarrass the customer and herself. No one put out more soap in my 15 minutes waiting for my food. DISSAPOINTING! I used to frequent Panera Bread when I lived in Lima, Ohio. Good food and clean, attractive restaurants in that city- both locations. Tried the bacon and egg sandwich here in Hburg- it was essentially tasteless. Bacon was not even visible on the sandwich (unlike the photo on the menu where it protrudes out both ends). The ciabatta bread had a bitter taste which completely dominated. The bacon was not even a factor in the flavor. The next item is a small matter, perhaps, but this is a review so I will mention it. the restrooms in the Lima stores were very warmly decorated with glass tile and paper towel baskets, etc. The restroom here is dull white institutional tile and looks like a hospital bathroom from 1960. Not terribly clean either. In such a competitive market, small touches matter! To the good, service was adequate if not especially friendly. Dining room is attractive and music was not too loud (important to me since i frequently use headphones). Could do MUCH better! read more

i went to grab a meal and iced coffee, but they were out of iced coffees. HOWEVER, i ordered another drink to try and didn't like it, so i went to the register and the amazing girl named Faith who was working register made new drinks with the best attitude i've ever seen a worker at this Panera has ever had. the mediterranean bowl was hands down 10/10!!!! the service (especially faith) was great and they all deserve a huge raise and made my experience so much better than it could have turned out. read more

I had a really bad experience there today. A few jinga that were not right: - The parking lot isn't big enough for the store. I waited several minutes for someone to leave but others were also doing this so I gave up and parked at the Home Depot. There are no cross walks or side walks and the road was pretty busy - there is no obvious place to queue so people just sort of wander up and ask one another " are you in line? Is this the line?" It would work fine in Africa but this culture lines up to order - there were only a couple places for groups of 4+ to sit (I guess it is just overall too small) I always end up spending too much (all drinks are $4) but I enjoy the food and will probably go back. I had a really good experience in Waynesboro this past week (planets at exit 94 of I64) that was plenty large, had a play place and a drive thru... I recommend that one read more

Today we stopped in for a late lunch. We ordered: cheddar broccoli soup, soba noodles with chicken, chicken caesar salad sandwich and a few bakery items. This was our first time trying the broth bowl; we both enjoyed the broth with the veggies, I didn't care for the soba noodles. The soup was nice and thick and ready to eat as opposed to lava hot.
