The have a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, bowls, and baked goods, and plenty of tables to sit at. What a delight! My bride, Petunia and I dined for brunch at this quaint establishment. We were greeted by a packed house which I took as a harbinger of good things to come. Excellent little deli. We got our lunch to go and took it for a picnic to the nearby arboretum. (you can walk or drive) My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I was ordering a snack for later too, so I got a cream cheese bagel (warmed and delicious), a hot chocolate (not too hot to drink and not too watery), and a turkey/swiss/avocado sub that was really tasty - the turkey tender and not too salty. I was looking for a breakfast croissant sandwich so I was excited to come here, but unfortunately they didn't have it on the menu when I went. Not sure if it was out of stock or something. I ended up getting the sausage egg cheddar on an everything bagel and it was gooood! Not even a breakfast sandwich person, I just had a random craving and it definitely satisfied it. My boyfriend got the cinnamon roll and said it was about a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 (mind you we eat a lot of different cinnamon rolls). Anyways, the most important thing I have to say is DO NOT get a muffin here. I'm not that picky with muffins but the banana nut muffin tasted like sticky gluten free cornbread, it was so off putting I couldn't eat it it after the first bite. Not sure if they're all like that but I just wouldn't risk it ever again. If you're looking at this place for coffee, I'm not sure it's the best pick either. They have lots of flavor options including brown sugar, caramel, vanilla, lavender, pumpkin, and white chocolate. I got a lavender white chocolate latte which instead of lavender tasted very flowery... but not like lavender- I love the taste of strong bitter lavender-but it was like an actual flower petal. I couldn't taste the actual coffee at all either. It wasn't nasty, just a weird flavor I didn't expect that almost made it more like a fruity drink than a coffee. The food here is great. Prices are normal for the area and the coffee is great. Sometimes they make mistakes and quickly fix them. Literally no complaints about the quality of their food and drinks. However, the young girl who works at the register (Aleah) is awful to customers. Impatient and curt constantly. She acts like she hates taking orders and is rude when you take more than ten seconds to order. Considering this happens even on slow days it seems like a personality issue. Everyone else we have talked to here has been incredibly patient and friendly, they're perfect. We love coming here, but time and time again her attitude has ruined what would have otherwise been a perfect morning. We were inclined to write a review just because of her. read more

We stopped in during a weekend stay at Massanutten Resort and it was about a 20 minute drive. The cafe itself is set up in a plaza and decorated tastefully. Well worth it with amazing breakfast sandwiches and I got a Pear and Gorgonzola Salad to have for later! This is a quaint small shop that we frequent for breakfast when we are in H-burg! The ingredients are fresh and sandwiches are made with care. They have one of the best carrot cakes in this area. It is moist (yes... the best descriptive word for a cake) and the ingredients speak of all the love put into making it. If you come for breakfast... I would highly recommend the "6am" specialty breakfast sandwich with few alternatives... I would get it on a croissant and get extra chipotle sauce. I would not get the tomato and replace the cheddar with Swiss! And for texture and goodness... Bacon is a MUST addition! I deem the sandwich 6am 2.0... or 7am... ;) Their classic sandwiches are all great... but the one above will keep you coming back over and over... you won't be able to explain why it's better than anything you've ever eaten... but it'll keep you coming back over and over until they make it a standard menu item! Stopped for a quick breakfast sandwich before heading home. This place was incredibly packed, line out the door packed. I did contemplate going some place else but I figured if it was this packed it had to be worth it. The line moved very quick and once I was inside I caught on that it was mostly college students from JMU. I ordered a Skinny Monkey, two classic BE&C, a plain bagel and one Cinnabon. Food is filling but nothing special. Ordered the 6am (and added sausage to it) and the everything bagel with sausage/egg/cheese. Both tasted alright but the bread overpowered the sandwiches for both orders. The bagel made our mouths tired of chewing half way through...the 6am was better flavor wise but the amount of bread did not match to the ratio of fillings as we tasted more cheesy bread than anything else. Both dishes came with a side of toasted bread with cinnamon and sugar and that was like chewing brittle.
